@kyra I think it is a typo
"Yes, those are all of my past life that I have remembered. And, yes to the other questions. Find the relics so that thy can lift the veil"
Amarok Sandstrider |
Amarok takes the timeline reverentially and read the details in awe, thoroughly impressed by the accomplishments achieved over many lifetimes, with his own blessed heritage he knows the value of knowing your roots.
Bowing to the Master, Amarok speaks solemnly.
"I of course echo my comrades in accepting this task, it would be an honour to enlighten your past."
No damage here ^^

In reference to what and where“One is the skull of an elven daimyo, Haraka Sorin. He died alongside Malash, he who was reborn as my veiled self. The skull now rests in the Haraka family shrine, in the Court of the Ancestral Sky in Ayajinbo. The other is a cradle that once held Malikeen, my most recent incarnation. It is on display in the village of Dallo, in western Wanshou.”
Wiem Weems Finyik |
"An elven daimyo?" The grippli looks at the fallen assassins. "Any relation? Can you please tell us more of the family Haraka? How far are these two places?"
Last time I was in a musuem I nearly died. I hope the village doesn't have any traveling exhibits on display.
Amarok Sandstrider |
Amarok ponders the Samsaran's words carefully, making a note of what they are to find in his spotless journal, slipping the book from a protective cover first. He thinks about itnuneasily for a moment before voicing a question.
"Honoured Captain, whilst we are commited to recovering the relics of your past, will the current caretakers of these relics be willig to part with them? I do not wish to steal Ancestral Relics, such as a family member's skull."
GM Z..D.. |
“You need not retrieve the items. Merely hold the candle close and call my name. If you have found the true relic, the flame will turn blue to show that I have examined it psychometrically."
In reference to the assassins: “They have watched me from afar for two lifetimes. Several times, I chased them away, but they always came back eventually, and hid better. Never until now have they sought my life. If you learn more of their motives on your quest, I would be keen to hear of it.”
Shiori |
Shiroi looks over her shoulder at her familiar.
Psychometry? That sounds interesting, how does that work?
Lurgh |
Which name do we call? And, forgive my asing, but is it unusual to have an entire lifetime veiled to one of your kind? What if there was a good reason for that life being locked away?
GM Z..D.. |
"I do apologize, I am Batkin, and I do even no why I would have locked that lifetime away. Hence why I summoned you to find out?"
@shiori, I do not know, and it does not give me more of a definition.
GM Z..D.. |
Batkin looks back at Kyra,"Like I have mentioned before, that is my veiled life. I do not remember anything from it,"
If there are anymore questions, go ahead and ask. If not we can move on. I will be moving the story along regardless on
Wiem Weems Finyik |
"And you do not know why these elves pursue you? Would you like to interrogate one of them. What more can you tell us of the Haraka family?"
I am ready when you are.
)Psychometry is under Appraise)

The mission to Ayajinbo requires the PCs to cross into Jinin and travel approximately 300 miles through dense forest. This journey takes about 16 days on foot. Fortunately, Jinin is a peaceful land, and the journey proceeds without incident. When the PCs arrive in the silver-spun city of Ayajinbo, streamers and flags proclaim that a major festival is in progress.
Diplomacy (Gather Intel)
The PCs arrive at a silver pagoda to behold a procession of elven nobles descending a gilded stone ramp into a cave. Four guards stand at the entrance. Noticing the PC's, one of them approaches.
"What is your business here"

Lurgh spent some time speaking to people in Tien, but they were not willing to talk with him, his blood made him an outsider even though he'd spent many years in Tian Xia.
Lurgh bows respectfully and greets them honorably in Tien, as befits their station before adding.
"We have come to study some of the history of your noble land and regal families. We seek the Court of the Ancestral Sky."

When travelling through the lands of Tien, Amarok takes to scouting for the group, ranging in different directions to ensure they are not waylaid. The monk also proves to be a somewhat capable hunter, ensuring the psthfinder's rations are bulked up with fresh game.
Before entering town, he makes sure to clean himself off and change clothing, seeming uncomfortable with his travel stained clothes. When addressed by the guards, the Monk bows fluidly from the waist.
"Yes, as my companion says we are here to enjoy your grand histories, sorry I am ignorant, but what is the festival that is about to take place?"

"Friends! These lovely ladies were just explaining to me the history behind this festival. Let me see if I can relay it to you..."
He'll share the info from the spoilers above.
"Oh, good sir, I am Calomel, emissary of Shelyn. Defender of the innocent, protector of the weak, and champion of my local bowling league. I believe we need to speak with the daimyo, Haraka Kasashige. Any chance we could get an audience with him?"

"You've heard of Malash, right? Malash the Magnafi-... Maggana-... Look, he was a pretty big deal around here. Anyway, we're looking for an artifact connected with his death, on behalf of his reincarnated self. All very spiritually-minded stuff, you see."
Lurgh |
"We have been following the life of Malash who was connected to the noble Haraka Sorin, we understand they died together and wish to examine Haraka Sorin's resting place to complete our chronicle".

The guard nod, and escort you through the entrance.
This sprawling, high-roofed grotto is a masterpiece of inversion. Exotic trees growing from the ceiling surround a gravity-defying lagoon. The floor is gently concave and painted the indigo color of moonlit skies. A few feet above the floor, lambent spheres evoke stars, while conjured clouds drift by on unfelt winds. A cave mouth fifty feet above joins a ramp, which spirals down the cave’s perimeter, connecting midway to a huge stone door. An enormous, mithral-plated mirror is affixed to the floor’s center.
Once the guards bring the PCs to meet Daimyo Kasashige, they see that the festival is well under way.
The hypnotic music of a mithral flute draws the guests toward the central mirror. An imperious elf, clad in the ceremonial armor of a daimyo, greets each family by name: “To the sagacious Mata, the perseverant Ishigo, and my own brethren, the decisive Haraka—welcome to the Festival of the Fortunate Moon. Tonight, the full moon will travel from sky to sky, and those who meet its pallid eye will earn the luck of dragons. Till moonrise, tales of honor shall remind us of our noble ancestry.” Then, as an afterthought, he adds, “And perhaps these bold outlanders have a tale or two to share?”
The Daimyo approaches the PCs and offers a slight bow,"Guests, welcome. What an honor to meet you, I hear you come seeking knowledge of Malash and wish to see his final resting place? If you wish I can take you to the Haraka shrine."
Amarok Sandstrider |
Before heading into the featival, Amarok will activate 1 ki point tonactivate Barkskin for 60 minutes
Amarok bows respectfully to the guarss as they lead them into the festival hall, marvelling at the wonders on display here, from beautiful costumes to the Mithral mirror embedded into the ceiling. Waiting patiently and using all of his training to keep any signs of their anxiousness from his outward appearance, Amarok bows low to the Daimyo.
"You have the truth, honoured Daimyo, we are acquaintances of the reincarnated soul of Malash the magnificent, he has asked us here to view relics of his past life. It would be our greatest honour for you to accompany us to your family Shrine, as long as it is not an inconvenience."
Lurgh |
"That is... complicated. The dragons of the Dragon Empires are creatures of two, opposing natures existing in perfect harmony in one body. Each dragon is the embodiment of many noble, and beneficent qualities... and the embodiment of the opposite of those same qualities."
Wiem Weems Finyik |
Wiem Weems marvels at the wondrous architecture. His throat stretches happily as he reminisces on his own village, built high above the ground.
Lurgh |
"Yes... and no."

Daimyo Kasashige leads the PCs to the shrine. He steps to one side and allows any PCs to look in through the mesh screen, but not to enter.
"This is the Haraka shrine, the resting place of my ancestors."
Amarok Sandstrider |
Amarok bows to the Daimyo in respect before making his way carefully up the mesh screen, peering in to the honoured shrine with a careful eye, seeing if he can spot anything that matches the Venture-Captain's description. He is also extremely careful not to toe the line and stands at the expected distance.

Amarok sighs deeply, not wishing to anger the Daimyo by stepping over the bounds, but knowing they must explore more of the shrine if they were to find the Skull they seek. Amarok bows fluidly, though his body language shows his unease.
"Honoured Daimyo, may I ask that we be allowed to pray in the shrine? Our Re-incarnated companion dearly hoped to find some answers here, for his time as the Magnificent one meant a great deal to him."

“This is a tangled knot of honor. When he was Malash, Bakten gave our families strength. Yet, even for his sake, can a son permit the desecration of his ancestor’s grave?" He thinks on this situation for the moment.
"I will bring up your request to the others and we will vote on it during moonrise. You are more than welcome to stay and enjoy the celebration with is in the shrine."
During the festival, you have multiple ways to mingle with the crowds of elves.
Debating Honor: Following someone else’s storytelling, any PC may attempt a Bluff, Knowledge (nobility), or Profession (barrister) check to debate a point of honor.
Non-Violent Entertainment: The elves are curious about the PCs’ abilities, and welcome any non-violent diversions to pass the time. The PCs may attempt a Perform check or to cast a spell with an impressive visual effect of at least 3rd level.
Telling Tales: Any PC may attempt a Knowledge (history), Knowledge (nobility), or Perform (oratory) check to impress the nobles with a tale of honor.
Violent Entertainment: The elves enjoy watching reenactments of their own past glories. They eagerly tell tales of their people’s victories to any PC who shows interest in their history. A PC who succeeds at a Knowledge (history) check knows already knows one of these stories and is able to act it out to gain their favor.

Not a single PC in the party is trained in any of those skills. This will likely go poorly.
Lurgh begins to tell a tale of recent adventure.
Perform (oratory): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
The tale incorporates details about the evil dead that he has recently faced, both those with bodies and those who were naught but spirits. He hoped like many Tien, the elves were likewise concerned with the spirits of the restless dead and would look favorably on one who fought against them.
Last two adventures were The Sanos Abduction and Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts.

Kn (history): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Wiem Weems Fenyik relates the story as told him by his father Huntsmaster Elder Fenyik. It is a story about (honorably) helping strangers lost in the jungle, befriending them, and carrying on their honorable mission when they eventually passed away.*
Then he continues with a recent addition to the story. Evil people, dishonored the elders by binding them and beating them into relating the tale. The (honorable) pathfinders not only saved my father, but also brokered peace with the kobolds and earned honor by returning long-tooth eggs to us. I joined these (honorable) folks then and they honored the peace with the kobolds even while engaging the guardian of our ancestral friends to keep his (honorable) treaty with my people.
*more details in Scions of the Sky Key (honorable) Part I which I will (honorably) elaborate on if I can find the time :)
Amarok Sandstrider |
Unwilling to bring dishonour upon himself by accidentally riling the gathered nobility with untrue ramblings, Amarok decides it best to take in the festival as a spectator, watching the debates and mock duels with interest. He politely listens to the conversation around him, absorbing the culture but decides not to speak out in this unfamiliar climate.
This place is a mystery and a wonder, many years have gone into this society and its strange hierarchy, makes one miss the simple temple life he thinks contentedly to himself.
