Agent 322 does not hear anything to worry about, and keeps to the shadows, waiting for someone to open the door.

She whispers, "Does anyone hear anything behind the door? Is the door trapped?"

Joliryn stops suddenly, a look of concentration on her face. Then she smiles brightly. At 322's whispered question, she holds a finger up to her lips to indicate the need for silence followed by a quick nod.

With a quick tap on her ear, she then holds up three fingers and then points to the door.

Marnarius, you should re-figure those stat blocks. I can do it for you if needed. This would be no different if you were working off the pregen sheets. I have updated the statblock for Marnarius if you want to just use that.

The door does not appear to be trapped (Shihoraj confirms that as soon as she moves within 10'). The rather loud conversation on the other side starts to get a little heated.

Seeing three fingers, Rataji steps back, points his finger five times and messages the group. He can't make out what they're saying, but he can hear the shouting, and he grins.

"I'm going to bluff my way in there, and then send them all out to you. You can either let them walk past, or you can ambush them... quietly." Rataji looks toward Zed. "Want to join me in making some Pathfinders miserable?"

Bluff, Take Ten: 10 + 15 = 25

Rataji gives everyone time to position themselves properly.

Gesturing for the others to step well back, Rataji opens the door and storms into the room. “What sort of idiocy is THIS? You’re on guard duty, not the marching band! I can hear you all the way down the hall. And I bet you didn’t even hear me coming.”

When Raj makes the exaggerated waving motions to send them off, Marnarius quickly moves around a corner or into an alcove, hopefully before Raj storms into the room.

The map does not show how far the corridor extends or if/where any corners are. Is this even feasible? I have to figure it is or Raj would not have told us to do it :) Do you need a stealth roll? Marnarius will aid anyone attempting to hide.

All players have the same information. As for stealth, it requires concealment or cover. If only one door is opened, then the other door would obviously provide cover. Even if both doors are opened, there are the columns along the wall that may be provide sufficient cover for hiding.

Looking to see which door Rataji plans to open, Joliryn moves to a position where the other door will provide her cover. She draws her dagger and waits for someone to step past the door.

Dagger drawn so I have a weapon in hand. My kukri is currently ablaze, which doesn't mesh well with hiding. :) Leaving it in the spring loaded wrist sheath for now.

This might just work, though I doubt it. Someone needs to replace that impetuous leader of ours. I hope we didn't lose surprise.

Yes, I see the irony of that thought, considering Marnarius really wanted to pee on that bard.

Marnarius intends to drink the potion when they start coming out, hoping that the skinny pillar will actualy provide a hiding place if he is as small as Shi, though looking at Shi's pathetic attempts at hiding doesn't give him much hope.

An unremarkable tapestry bearing intricate but heavily worn geometric patterns along its length hangs on the far end of this meeting room. A rune-inscribed circle set into the floor completely contains a table at the room’s center.

As Rataji bursts in, he immediately gets the attention of all three in the room. Nearest the door is a human wearing a breastplate, with a very nice long composite bow and a greatsword. To the north of the table is a man wearing a leather duster, who appears to be cleaning a well-maintained musket. And to closest to the Tapestry is a half-orc woman, with a greataxe on her lap.

The man closest to the door remarks, "Hey! You aren't allowed in here!" The man with the gun stops cleaning it, and immediately starts to load it. The woman at the back merely stands up from her chair, and says, "You don't belong here. I suggest you leave now... or pay the consequences. I ain't be in a scuffle all day, and I am itching to burn something."

Damn, not complete incompetents. They're too far spaced out to catch in a spell, and I don't fancy getting shot by that gun man. Guess I'll have to brazen it.

Rataji relaxes, slipping further into his chosen disguise as a Pathfinder patrolman, and laughs. It's a friendly laugh, rich and contagious. "Oh, how I'd love that scuffle, and you lot look like you could give me a fine one. Anything's better than mind-numbing patrol duty on Convocation, right?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Yes!

"My patrol and I are going out of our minds seeing the same stone hallways, over and over, while all the booze, games and attractive companionship are out there!" He flashes the half-orc a dazzling smile. "Present company excluded, of course." He looks around the group. "If you really want us to go, we can... or we can screw the brass and chat for a couple minutes to pass the time?"

Bluff, Secret Message to Team listening in on Message Spell: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17 Good enough!

Male Human (Minnesotan) GM 5 Gallows of Madness |Midnight Marauder

"You can all leave the area. We are here to guard the tapestry. You are not suppose to be here. Leave now, or we shall be forced to remove you.", says the man up front.

How is the Paladin detecting Joli as evil? She has undetectable alignment cast upon her. I wish that I had done that!

I was assuming he was just using the smite without checking. He has enough for most of our group. Although he had enough time to have checked you before combat, it is a move action to detect evil on a person and I was behind a door so I don't think there was an opportunity for him to have done it on Joliryn.

Yep. Its the only thing we can do. Marnarius moves up and delays for Shi. I don't think his path matters as the Paladin is wielding a bow, but he will swing wide out of habit. When she arrives he will take his one lousy shot on the paladin using the flank. He spends a swift action studying the paladin and the gunslinger.

Throw the tanglefoot bag on the archer-paladin.

Tanglefoot bag: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 4 = 23

Tanglefoot bag:
A tanglefoot bag is a small sack filled with tar, resin, and other sticky substances. When you throw a tanglefoot bag at a creature (as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet), the bag comes apart and goo bursts out, entangling the target and then becoming tough and resilient upon exposure to air. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed. Huge or larger creatures are unaffected by a tanglefoot bag. A flying creature is not stuck to the floor, but it must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be unable to fly (assuming it uses its wings to fly) and fall to the ground. A tanglefoot bag does not function underwater.

A creature that is glued to the floor (or unable to fly) can break free by making a DC 17 Strength check or by dealing 15 points of damage to the goo with a slashing weapon. A creature trying to scrape goo off itself, or another creature assisting, does not need to make an attack roll; hitting the goo is automatic, after which the creature that hit makes a damage roll to see how much of the goo was scraped off. Once free, the creature can move (including flying) at half speed. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell's level or be unable to cast the spell. The goo becomes brittle and fragile after 2d4 rounds, cracking apart and losing its effectiveness. An application of universal solvent to a stuck creature dissolves the alchemical goo immediately. Crafting this item is a DC 25 Craft (alchemy) check.

After that she will move to flank but she does no reach, and gets her sword ready (on the other hand is the wand of true strike).

The best target was the mage... but that coward was too far

Joli has it right. He didn't have the opportunity to check, so was guessing.

Shihoraj, that is not a flank. I've moved you one more (you had the movement to pull it off.

Pally reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 (only at half speed, not glued to the floor).
Marnarius -- typically you should declare all details about your readied action, including the rolls, in a spoiler, such as the following. This helps the game keep moving.

DEMO Ready for Shihoraj's flank:

Note: this is a demo, not Marnarius's attack
When Shihoraj flanks, DEMO will attack, with Power Attack, Studied Target, and Sneak.
Readied attack w/ Greataxe, PA, ST, Flank, Haste: 1d20 + 10 - 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 10 - 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 30 Greataxe: 1d12 + 4 + 6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 6 + 2 + (6, 1) = 25

Because Marnarius did not give me enough to work on, I cannot roll the attack for him. I do not know if he is using power attack, or which weapon he is using.

At 14:00CST I will assume that Marnarius was using the scythe, and power attacking.

You are correct, I had the scythe out. I keep getting burned when I pre-post and attack so this time I wanted to make absolutely sure Shi moved up to flank before I wasted the effort. Using the viscious ability

Really hoping for a crit here.

+14 to hit, +2 studied, +2 flank offsetting -2 power attack: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 14 + 2 = 35

soooo close!

damage to opponent, 2d4 + 9 + 2d6 sneak + 4 studied and seething hatred + 2d6 viscious: 2d4 + 9 + 2d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 9 + (2, 4) + 4 + (4, 1) = 31

I already deducted the 4 points of damage from the viscious backlash. By the way, I hate those six-sided dice.

Given that I hasted, then moved, that was an awfully lucky guess on her part about where I was. Did she have to do a perception check to pinpoint my location like that?

Sighing at being made glaringly visible, Rataji realizes that he can't help the group nor open the tapestry if he does not survive the fight, and he won't survive the fight if either the gunslinger or the paladin target him. He casts displacement on himself and moves behind a pillar for cover. With more bravado than he feels, he shouts, "Remind me to thank you all properly for the body glitter later. Heh. I'm so handsome, I can make even THIS look good!"

And if she's bothering with me, she won't be blasting my friends...

Once he's placed properly, he runs through his other spells, preparing to wreck the day of his opponents. "Shihoraj, don't bother with tricky stuff. Just flank and sneak attack the bastard!"

Actually, Shi, I rather like having the over zealous fool stuck RIGHT there, or at least see him struggle to get out of this fine place he finds himself in.

I'm hoping this means no five foot step

Don't you get three attacks while doing a full attack hasted (4 if the attack is usable with brawlers fury)? You normally have two even without the haste and I assume you used a swift for the greater dirty trick. Or are you waiting for results before you make the last attack? Also remember your knockout attack once per day if things are desperate. I had considered using poison but it would take too long and his fort is probably pretty high as a pally - and I needed the study bonus.

I do have another attack coming but there might be a lot of variable penalties depending on what I've done to him so far. That and I'm still at work and didn't get the chance to finish texting. ;)

Honestly, if I were you at this point, I would have just gone for damage... but...
Zurnzal uses his cleverness to first blind the gunslinger (successfully), and then he steals the gun from his hands.

@Rataji - A perception check was made for the general area... that's why she targeted the post. Trust me that you would not have liked her other option.
