"Well, if it is a computer or engineering problem, I should be able to assist," says Argon-42. She enters the elevator.

Once on E deck, she tries to figure out what is wrong.

Oh no, I am a single Self. But Selfs are transitory, and many of my people merge together for different lengths of time as they mature. Our greatest leaders are made up of many Selfs; it is similar to how the Starfinder Society is made up of many agents, but your, err.. our Selfs have much more autonomy in the Society than my Self would if I were a part of Nunsliatkulviope.

You can use the working lifts and maintenance tunnels to reach E-Deck.
The doors on E-Deck are closed and do not automatically open without power, but since the magnetic seals on the doors are also disabled due to the power loss, you can force your way through easily.

The Master of Stars is the largest starship in the Society’s arsenal.
Even before the events of the Scoured Stars, it was the pride of the fleet. Years of neglect required an extensive retrofit during the events of the Scoured Stars incident, inadvertently saving the flagship. The repairs are still ongoing, hampered by the lack of any senior Starfinders familiar with the ship’s myriad and esoteric systems.
E-Deck is a heavily underused section of the Master of Stars, consisting of various primary access corridors and adjoining chambers. Most side rooms are crew quarters or communal living spaces — far less important locations due to the recent shortage in personnel.
The Wayfinders recently started using some of these chambers to store nonthreatening alien objects.

The E-Deck is in total darkness when you arrive, making the first order of business to restore power to the lights and the cameras prior to entering the area. Computers or Engineering could get you further here.

I added a new map. The E-Deck is a lot larger than what you see on the map though. Please find the link above the gameplay thread and add your info as well as your token on the first site.

I suppose that that my kin, the ysoki, have traditionally recognized that technology was created to serve sentient beings, not the other way around. Yet, a master is always to treat servants with dignity and respect. Mutual dignity leads to mutual appreciation, which in turn leads to mutual benefit. Thus, I surmise, it is our acceptance of our responsibilities as users of technology as well as our understanding of the both boons and hazards that accompany it that makes my kin well-suited for the role of engineers. Lightfoot postulates. He looks down at his gloved hands, then opens and closes them. I suppose, also, he considers, It doesn’t hurt that small hands allow for better handling of fine and delicate electronics.

The discussion seems to provide Lightfoot with a sudden revelation, bringing a smile to the ysoki’s face. Though I had initially thought that Fitch had terminated her communication, it may be that the end of the transmission was brought about by another source—perhaps whatever it is that is plaguing E-Deck. He looks over at the rifle slung over the shoulder of Delta-5. It is my hope that the problem may be addressed without the need for your expertise in marksmanship.” the ysoki says to the android.

Upon entering E-Deck and seeing Knows-No-Bounds engage his implant when faced with the deep darkness, Lightfoot does the same. "Knows, indeed!" Lightfoot says with admiration. "Your name seems well-chosen!"

As light shines forth from the implant within his hand, Lightfoot declares, Thanks to the Society, it is no longer merely my feet that bring forth light, but my hand as well. By the grace of the Dawnflower, it shall someday be my entire person that aids to illuminate the shadows and darkness of both this mortal realm and beyond!” Lightfoot nods in appreciation to the kasatha. As you so artfully stated, Good Zeyram, a single great light is composed of many photons. And, yet, a single photon is free to act as both a particle and a wave at the same time; it need not chose to be just one or the other. To that end, I, a servant of Sarenrae, am free to serve both god and Society—both the First Seeker and Wayfinder..”

The diminutive ysoki looks up at his barathu colleague. Friend Blibdoolpoolp, you seem to have a unique perspective as to what it means to pursue one’s own preferences while at the same time be part of something greater than oneself… Lightfoot smiles before adding, Or should I say than just one Self?”

When he finishes speaking, Lightfoot notices that Argon-42 and Zeyram have already begun their efforts to restore the lights. Your forgiveness… Lightfoot says to the others. I have been so occupied voicing my admiration of the complexities and insightfulness of my colleagues, that I have failed to put word into action.” A tinge of genuine regret may be heard in the ysoki’s voice. It is an oversight that I intend to remedy this very instant. Lightfoot removes his gloves and gets to work locating the panel he believes is most likely to house the juncture for the power cables.

The two children look at you with relieve and disbelief in their eyes:
Oh wow you found us! And you restored the power! We were trapped here when the power went out! Says the boy and the girl continues: [/b]I was really scared we would starve here and nobody would ever come again! So terrible. Can you please bring us back to our father? His name is Kieu Kein.[/b]

Zeyram pauses what he is doing at the moment. Looking to the children, he adds "We aren't trying to get you in trouble. We just need to make sure everything is alright here."

Argon, not much of a talker, looks around for evidence of tampering with the power system, or some kind of damage.

As he looks upon the frightened eyes of the children, Lightfoot is reminded of his own, now seemingly distant childhood. He softly ponders aloud, "Where has all the time gone?"

Awaiting results of skill checks. : )

The two kids seem to being to open up to Lightfoot and Zeyram. As they hear their fathers voice over the com unit, they're immediately a lot more open.

We came here to bring our little friend some food!
Yes our little friend. We found him here.
You gotta be careful over there, we reset the fire extinguisher to protect him.
He went a little crazy, maybe he was too hungry, and was all over the place when suddenly the lights went out. Then we hid here.

Argon-42 can easily spot all the little details of a small creature having rampaged the area. The traces lead to a room where you haven't been yet and the kids also point in the direction whan talking about the fire extinguisher.

Assuming you go over, i give you the description.

This area consists of two adjoining chambers. Four large containment capsules fill the fore room, three of which hold stasis-locked objects, including a tablet, a strange curved sword, and an odd spiral of bioluminescent coral. A crack leaks fluid from the fourth capsule, which displays a foot-wide breach near the bottom. The aft room contains several desks, each hosting a deactivated computer terminal.

GM rolls:

creature: 1d4 ⇒ 1
hazard: 1d4 ⇒ 1
reaction: 1d4 ⇒ 1

The room is covered with a thick fog and you can only see about 5 feet. It's very hot and steamy.

DC 18 Survival:
You can track down the alien

Only when perusing the room:

Perusing the room:

You see the tracks of a centipede-like creature on the walls and some vent covers half open.
You can use a successful DC 15 Athletics check to crawl into a nearby vent to give chase, or make a successful Dc 17 Computers check to close all available vent exits and funnel the creature back into the chamber.

"What sort of food did it want?"

He checks with the father, to find out how they want to handle the situation.

Once that is done, he goes over to look at the capsules.

Looking at the leaking capsule, Zeyram points to the fluids and asks the others "Any idea what that is? Is it dangerous?"

He then tries to figure out where the creature might have gone. He can't find any signs of it.

Knows carefully hands the kids the packet of sweets: "Little friend, you say? Did this friend have teeth? Scales? Fur? Tentacles? Don't worry: will find this friend and make sure they are safe." He nods at any response they might have before standing and heading to investigate the other room.

He sniffs the fog. "Good aroma and warmth, but too moist. Much prefer dry air: is better for breathing. Maybe this friend likes the wet." He peers through the mist, trying to catch a glimpse of something, before shrugging and settling down in a squat to appear non-threatening once more. "Come out little friend. Have food for yooooou," he calls in a gravelly sing-song.

" Come, my fine companions, and let us locate the friend of our young charges!" shouts Lightfoot, but despite his confidence, he can find no trace of the creature.

Convinced that the children are being well cared for, as well as well nourished, by Knows-No-Bounds, Lightfoot peruses the room in search of the creature. Surmising that the creature must have found its way into the vents, the member of the Wayfinders attempts to follow the alienbto make contact with it.

Zeyram watches as Rozzicheep climbs into the vents. The large Kasathan calls out "I can't follow you in there! The vents are far too small for me."

Considering he is over 6' tall, that would qualify as an understatement.
