"Demons in scared halls of Cayden?" The High Priestess exclaims in shock.
"I would ask who and where did you come across such information and what is this about my clerics not being too pleased about this. Where are they?"

"Your underpriests attacked us. We have done them no lasting harm, but it was necessary to defend ourselves. It almost seemed like they were under the influence of somone - they were not acting rationally." explains Auriferous.

As I said, we extracted the information from a nasty little quasit who was trying to ransack Osprey's office looking for information about your priest. As for your door guards, they are sleeping things off now but seemed to be under the influence of something other than booze.

"My guess is that your clerics were until magical coercion to not let anyone investigate this problem."

"So, if there were a demonic infestation here, where do you think it would lie?"

Taman looks around and gets bored of the conversation.

When will this end? I want some action.

"The one you should speak with is Baldimar’s former ward, Brother Dunnamast. I'll have him report here." as the high priestess motions for one of her clerics to search for him.

It takes some time but an obvious agiated cleric returns empty-handed.
"What do yu mean he can't be found!?!?!?!" a high priestess reponds in consternation and as she turns to you
"it seems that I'm in need of your help afterall. Brother Dunnamast is tehone we need to speak with and he can't be found. We'll ahve to search for him in Cayden's Hall. Can I count on your aid?"

Of course you can, do you have any idea where he was last seen? asks Blend as he flips up out of the chair he has been lounging in.

Finally, a chance for some action

Auriferous also stands. "Do you have a description of him?" she asks. "And may we see his rooms?"

"Yes we do." as Sapira gives a brief description of what the man they needd to find look like.
"As for where he was last seen? No one knows, his quarters was searched and nothing unusal was found."

Can you point us to his quarters, maybe we can find something your people missed?

"Where do you suggest we begin, then?"

"Perhaps if we were to look with an outsiders eyes, we might discover something that has been missed in the quick search that has already been done?" suggests Auri.

"Guys I can not wait any longer. I want some action!"

The Room of Brother Dunnamast turns up nothing noteworthy other then a few books of questionable repute. It seems the man is a devout follower of Cayden Cailiean as there are a dozen bottles of wine aged 100 years or more in his mini collection.

You soon find the good brother in the cask room unconsious and slumped between the wall and a large keg of rum.

Taman is put to good use as he is asked to help out in Breaking up the brawl and it isn't long before most of the brawlers in the temple has had a healthy respect of the man.

Blend has a look over the unconscious man.

She pokes around the area that Dunnamast was found.

Liminy takes a small taste of the rum.

"Seems odd that one of the priesthood would drink themselves into unconsciousness. You would think they would have a high tolerance."

"You're right. I think it's highly unlikely that's the case."

Liminy finds the rum to be of the highest quality as expected from the stores of the great drinker himself!

While he appears severely drunk, Blend's check reveals more: it seems his thoughts and memories have been tampered with, beyond any selfinflicted damage caused by overindulgence.

Shortly after that Dunnamast’s flesh pales, and his entire body

Liminy casts Detect Magic.

Blend steps back from the man, Something has affected his memories, can any of you detect magic? If he has been affected by a spell there might be a lingering aura?

With that he merges into the background.

Auri looks around for magical residue, and then tries to work out what they might be.

It seems that Soemthing has taken control of Dunnamast as he thrashes around uncontrollably. He'll hurt himself if nothing is done!
Given his size and strength, it'll need someone both strong and heavy to hold him down. THe priest arounds you stand horrified as Brother Dunnamast begins to slam his head into everything nearby!

"What do we do? I mean, I can charm him but I'm not sure more charming is the answer here." Simon thinks frantically.

Blend will try jumping on the unfortunate priest to grapple him so he cannot continue to harm himself.

Can anyone protect him from this evil influence? he shouts.

Taman runs to help Blend to hold the priest.

However she trips over the thrashing priest.

Once Restrainted, Brother Dunnamast's head swivels towards all of you with a baleful glare and begins to speak;

Once the recitation is complete, Dunnamast’s flesh again pales and he slips into a still, corpse-like rigor while small trickles of blood run from his nose, ears, and eyes.

"Pathfinders! If you have any expert that can help us now, do so!" Saphira pleads.

"Xersus Abergris is an expert. Quickly someone fetch him!"

You never actually told us where we were when we met Osprey. Pig's Paunch maybe?

Don't any of you casters have some way of protecting this poor soul from evil? shouts Blend as he struggles with the man.

"Water it with holy water!"

"With time I can prepare a short term solution. But I did not pray for such a miracle today." admits Auriferous.

"Bring some rope and let us bind him for his own safety. Did anyone understand what he said?"

Taman took his own rope and tied the priest.

Simon searches through his scrolls. "Unfortunately, it's not in my library." He makes a note to pick it up.

"Xersus Abergris is an expert. Quickly someone fetch him!"

You never actually told us where we were when we met Osprey. Pig's Paunch maybe?

A little unknow place called the Grog Pit.

A Yawning Portal slashes itself open where all of you are trying to restrain Brother Dunnamast and reveals Xersus and Osprey.
"Tell me everything and how it got to this point." Xersus says immediately upon arriving.

Blend remains sitting on the unfortunate priests chest. Well, something very bad is up here. The door priests attacked us and were possibly magically influenced. This man has had his memories tampered with and is apparently being attacked by a demon! We could really do with something to stop that immediately!

"We think a couple of other priests were influenced as well. They tried to prevent us from entering the temple. I believe this man is being possessed."

"Yes, demonic influence is pretty obvious here. Whoever or whatever it is, they definitely do not want anyone snooping around here."

"The real question is why? And why now?" muses Auri.

"There is a performance going on in the main room... someone famous I think I recall one of you saying. Such frivolity is not my interests. Could that be related?"

Xersus listens intently, his face twisted with consternation.

“I see,” he says. He opens a black case filled with weird brass devices, crystals, incense, and other tools, and the proceeds to inspect Dunnamast’s body. He circles it, muttering to himself as he rapidly scribbles notes into a weathered looking tome.

It takes him about 10 minutes as the gnome enters a trance like state, ignoring all attempts to contact him.
Once he’s finished, he wipes his brow, looks worriedly toward the party, and says, “I need to perform an extraction.”

“Extraction involves psychic projection. I shall enter a trancelike state in which I project myself into the psychic realm where Dunnamast suffers. I’m not sure what is attacking him, and thus far have only ever heard tales of the dream realm’s connection to shapeless, primordial demons. I seriously doubted their existence until this moment. In order to succeed in this task, I’ll need all of your help. The realm of dreams and nightmares is both maddening and deadly, and I cannot guarantee your life or sanity should you choose to join me. Without your help, though, Brother Dunnamast will die.”
As he finishes, Saphria gasps as the deadly meaning comes clear.

"I will go." Osprey steps up without hesitation.

Blend sits back on his heels with the man no longer thrashing about. If it's the only way then so be it.

"I've traveled through time. I've traveled to other planes. I look forward to visiting the realm of dreams."

Liminy will use a charge of his mage armor wand on himself in preparation.

"I think it might be fascinating honestly! I'm ready to go."

"Let's go then!"

Auriferous also steps up. "I fear nothing in this world, or the world beyond."

Blend will draw his bow in the vague hope that it is likely to do something wherever they are being sent. Before they are sent off he also taps himself with a couple of wands.

I'm ready

Blend activates his wands of freedom of movement and longstrider. Just before they go wherever they are going he pours of oil of bless weapon over 50 cold iron arrows and tries to UMD his shield wand
