Greeting I will be attemptping to DM the the Out of the Abyss 5E adventure path. I am looking for 4 to 5 players for this AP.
Character Stuff
roll 4d6 and drop the lowest number. All races/alignments are allowed also for HP we will be taking the max at 1st level and the average as you level. As far posting goes, I will be posting every 48 hours, weekend posting will be determined by the pace of the posting. Since the holidays are around the corner I expect a slow pacing or no post around Thanksgiving and Christmas. I will close out the recruitment on Sunday the 27th of SEPT. Also the Elemmental Players guide is open for use as well.

I'm interested. I did the first two books on actual table top, but now that I switched jobs, I work on most of the days Adventures league is actually run for those books.
hmm, what race and class shall I be? 1d6 + 2d8 ⇒ (1) + (8, 7) = 16 yeah, I use a coded system. It wants me to make an elf warlock. never been a warlock before.

Daaaaaang. That's quite a set of stats.
So are we starting at 1st level? Are we using standard gear or the purchase method? Will maps be a necessary part of gameplay?
Also, I notice this is your first post. Have you done this before elsewhere, or is this your first time? If you're new (or new-ish), there's some good guides to PbP here on the forums if you're interested. :)
EDIT: Wait, recruitment deadline is this Sunday? Dang, I might not even have time to make a character...
IronDM72 |
I have done this before Jiggy its been while. I have decided to give PbP another go. Also maps will not be needed up front they may come into play later. @DoubleGold hope this game fills your need. Jiggy if you need more time PM me. Also everyone will be starting at level 1 and you can take either the kits that come with class or you can buy your stuff. I will leave that up to you.

Hm, lots of people doing martials; I might go for a spellcaster then.
Come to think of it, I've long been toying with the idea of a Cleric1/WizardX (or Cleric1/SorcX), so maybe I'll build that.
Um, what pantheon are we using? I'm afraid I don't know the D&D pantheons very well; can I be a "concept cleric" and just pick a domain?

.... I don't have time now, but I'd like to throw my hat in the ring with a warlock of some sort. I just managed to snag the PHB and have been dying to get into a game but don't have gas to get my FLGS, lol.
Mind if I come back in later tonight with a possible entry? I know I plan on Pact of the Tome, Great Old One warlock. I just haven't settled on a race yet.

Alright. I'll see what I can cobble together in the little time I'll have at home with my books. What I'm imagining right now is a half-elf, with stats of 12/14/14/13/18/16. First level would be cleric (not sure of domain), then after that would be sorcerer (probably draconic bloodline, because wild magic is annoying to actually implement). Otherwise, should be pretty straightforward. Not sure on background yet.
By the way, what's the initial premise of the campaign? That is, I haven't seen people discuss character backstory/motivations/etc. Is this something where we're random people who happen to be present when something bad happens? Are we supposed to be treasure hunters with a built-in interest in going to the first place of interest? Are we an existing professional team? Something else? Just want to get an idea of what sort of concept to go with.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 2) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 5) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 1) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 1) = 8 = 7
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 2) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 5) = 16 = 13
..... I don't even know if that's a workable set of stats... For a warlock that is. Suppose I could be a very frail half-elf?
I'll have to think on this.
