OH yeah...almost forgot about my love of sci fi/fantasy genre. I'm not sure if there isn't much I don't like. I just pretty much tend to stay away from the girly girl stuff unless it's tinker bell, Hello Kitty, or something else faerie related. LOL And I mean the REAL fae stuff, not that phony disney crap that they think passes for faeries.
Expresses love for tinkerbell and hate for Disney faeries in practically the same breath. How to make this a meme?
Lol

I don't know how I do it.....I love Tinkerbell, but I hate Disney's bastardization of Faeries.

I loved Tinkerbell before they ever started with all that other crap. She was such a little rebel.

Yup. Going to get some much needed shuteye. I moved away too many barrow loads of gravel. The when my back was too sore, the timber didn't get delivered, (or rather the wrong order got delivered for the second time) and we had to fill in time by…shoveling dirt onto the gravel. Too old for this… :)
Night all!

Alright, Henry's mom should be here any minute....so we're gonna be out for a while. Hopefully not too long....it's just gonna be another chinese buffet since we can't take her anywhere else without complaining about everything.

She decided to change things up, so we are going to Cracker Barrel instead. She's probably still gonna complain about something.

Yup, getting a grilled chicken salad with ranch on the side. It's too hot for something too heavy.

I work with some people who complain a lot. I also have a coworker who tries to play like he's the boss. As I don't report to him I really don't have to do anything he says.

See....I've told people like that at my work to shut the hell up or just suck it. People learn real quick not to piss me off. Not going back to cracker barrel. Food not bad, but the service sucks monkey balls.

I'm too happy at having my job to tell him off right now. If it comes down to it (and it has not so far) I would politely but firmly tell him that he is nobody's boss. If he doesn't like it, too bad. I still don't report to him. I hate having to draw lines in the sand, but if people keep stepping out of their role it may come to it.
I really do love my job though. It pays extremely well, plus I am getting a paid hotel stay (Holiday Inn!) while I am on a project out here. Rent free for 2 & 1/2 months? Yes please!
Their wifi is this fast! I get lots of surfing done, including streaming video. Netflix rocks!

Lol.....guess I'm just more brazen than most. But I hate my job...it pays for s$%*, ruins my body, and I have to deal with ignorant f'ing people on a daily basis. So....I decided to stop being someone they could walk all over.

I bought a laptop today. Dell Latitude 5420. At some point, I plan on eventually upgrading the RAM to 8GB, getting a caddy and adding a second solid state hard drive (replacing the DVD drive), and getting a docking station to plug it into when I am at home. External monitor can support higher resolution, while the docking station supports a keyboard, mouse, and other peripherials. It should be delivered this Friday, and I will pick it up on Saturday.
I specifically chose this one over the lesser model as it has a higher resolution (1600x900 vs 1366x768), and a backlit keyboard. Excitement!

Had to buy a laptop a couple weeks ago. Long story, but I'm quite content with it. More so since I got my USB to SATA adapter and was able to salvage stuff from the dead one.
When it comes to getting info off old hard drives that is easily done. Unless the old one is non-functioning. I work in I.T (by passion and by trade) and have many options available to me. Having this laptop means that down the road I will not have to turn down 1099 contract work due to not having a computer with Windows 7 on it. This is a very good investment for me. Plus with the upgrades I am planning for it, the end result will be a speedy little device. Win all around! Plus I can upgrade it cheaper than having it done. I am a hardware, hands-on kind of person.

Well, if anyone needs tech advice I am available. Technology problems are hard enough to deal with even when I have the experience dealing with it. For someone who knows little? A catastrophe.
Plus I am quite good at researching things. Phones, computers, printers, and the like. I have more experience, but it is in different areas that goes beyond average consumer use.

I'm a bit more handy with desktops, but I've been getting my feet wet with laptops as of late. I've frankensteined our desktop into lasting nearly 11 years.

Should you desire, I have resources that pertain to laptop repair. How much you want to learn depends on how far you want to get into it. I even have access to sites that have detailed repair manuals for many laptops, though not all. Speaking of repair manuals, I still have all the PDF technician manuals from when I worked on Xerox printers. They come in handy. That and more. I collected a lot over the years.
I also have quite a bit of experience with desktops as well. Should you need help with anything let me know.

Much. Sickness is almost gone. Let's just say that the drugs I bought had pseudoephedrine, 1000mg of acetaminophen, and an antihistamine with a dose of 2 pills. It does a pretty good job all things considered. Just some minor chest congestion left which should be gone in a couple days.
Out of 24 pills I have 6 left. 4 once I take more for tonight.
