Wha...?!?! Oh. Ok. I liked the game well enough, and the pace was fine. Let me know if you are doing another campaign, and by all means let me know if you think I am not posting enough for your preferred rate. Thanks for the game all...

It just seemed like this was falling into a few bouts of silence and, even my 3 players that signed up for it, weren't getting into it either. Steampunk is a hard setting to capture, especially with PF rules. Part of it is my depression acting up again (I'm looking into therapy) and I'd rather keep my focus on my long-running homebrew which may or may not need another person or two, depends on the group though. There may be something in the works before too long.

I was enjoying it a lot. Sorry my posting fell off there, I had a couple busy days pop up. I was having a lot of fun with Amara, though I hadn't gotten to the point where she would be dealing a lot with her two aspects. If you are interested, I am always up for homebrew action.
Should you decide on doing a steampunk game again, let me know. It can be another system as well. I am familiar with other systems, but that would be a discussion for another time.
Again, I apologize for my lack of posting.
Dust, I added you to my friends list so I can keep track of you.

I don't want anyone feeling as if it was anyone in particular. In this case, it's mostly me.
Having dealt with depression before I can empathize what you're dealing with. You need some time and space to get everything working right again. When you are ready, just let us know. You will always be on my list of GMs to play a game in, regardless of how many I already have.
Of note, I have wanted to play in a game that uses one of the following systems:
- GURPS
- Shadowrun 5E. I have no experience with 5th and have little with 3rd. I desire to learn more about the system.
- Numenera. I have the PDFs for the core book and player's guide (or whatever it is actually called). This seems like it would have serious potential for the kind of steampunk game you want. Really, it does. If you do not have the books for it maybe we can skype (or other suitable alternative voice chat program) and hash out details. I feel stronger about this as the system for what you were doing. Though I don't know how other races would work. I believe it is humans only. I digress. Still, let me know what you want to do.
If you have another system you would like to try I would be willing to test it.
Amara Nacht |
Well, whichever system that you decide on, I desire to try it out. Unless I am already familiar.
What other systems can you think of off the top of your head that might be a better fit for steampunk settings?
Amara Nacht |
I have some familiarity with Palladium's system, but it can be rather difficult to navigate the varying, and large number of books. One thing I will say is that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game had the best mechanics for making mutant animals. Very detailed.
Amara Nacht |
Palladium always felt more anti-player than anything.
Shadowrun is more cyberpunk than steampunk, but I do like bits of it. Wouldn't mind running some Cyberpunk 2020.
You have my rapt attention good sir. Let me know should you decide to run something like that. Of note, I have the desire to GM, though I have not picked a game or group that I would like to unleas...test out a game on.
I have my eye on a pathfinder module via Roll20 that I would like to try out to get my feet wet. I do have my eye on Shadowrun 5e too. I like the looks of that system a lot. I want the PDF of the core book to check over it.

Everything will work out....I just wanted to tell everyone that we understand how messy life can get sometimes and it's okay. There's just alot of personal stuff that we're dealing with right now and it sorta got in the way of things.
It was super super fun though.
Amara Nacht |
Of course! Life comes first, always. I have this mindset and sometimes it has clashed with others (nobody from this game) as some people seem to think gaming is serious bizness!.
I think if anyone here would like, I want to start with just a Pathfinder module. I would like to try it on Roll20, though I am still working on the maps. That will be a bit as I figure out how I can accomplish this. Virtual gaming programs are new to me in the GM sense. I am thinking in the next few weeks. At the very least, I will use Roll20 for maps. It really is a good resource.

Let me know when Recruitment is up Amara/GMV.
@GM Dust - here in Oz therapy is not as prevalent. I don't have the emotional werewithal to give myself the grace to go, though my wife thinks it would be good for me. Kudos to you for taking it on - and perhaps the new therapist will have fresh insights.
Amara Nacht |
I hope that everything goes well this was a lot of fun.
@Amara I would say I'd like to join but doing stuff like Roll20 is hard right now.
That's fine. I hadn't nailed down if I wanted Roll20 for sure yet. I will probably use it for maps until I become more familiar with it.
Either that or I start using Google Docs for stuff like that. I'll keep everyone posted.

Not so interested in Cyberpunk 2020, nor do I have the books. Love all the Gibson novels though... ;)
Keep me in mind for any future games folks, especially if you run or hear of Iron Gods AP where the party isn't all androids...

The game I really wanted to get into was a Zeitgeist game. I like the looks of that a lot. I made a character for a game, and ultimately wasn't chosen. Thing I dislike, though, is when someone doesn't respond to my PM for feedback. I like to know why I was chosen or not. Ah well.
Anyway, Zeitgeist looks pretty sweet. Check it out.
The first adventure is free, as is all the player material needed to learn about the setting. It gives a detailed yet broad enough picture that players get a good idea on the setting to get into the world. There is even an extended players guide (70 pages!) to help you know all you really need about how to integrate a character.
I digress. Cyberpunk 2020 does look like a lot of fun. Once I have the book I will let you know.
Aneirin Hahle |
@Alton - I saw all kinds applying. Just a lot of androids too. Just a pet peeve of mine - I want to play a primitive Kellid - the point of the AP to me is not to be the technology. Each to their own - if I had my hearts desire I'd play a Vegepygmy...

True that. But in our dystopia, most professions are not paid what they are worth. Nurses, teachers, carers? How about CEOs lawyers doctors.
As Bob Marley said:

Keep on keeping on Henry. :)
