Scarab Sages

Welcome, PCs, to the Discussion thread! Before we get the game underway, let's take a moment to review everyone's character sheets, get the format down, and get prepared to start at dusk, in the Lower City of Katapesh, where treasures and perils await the bold and the lucky.

Woot! Thanks for the offer and I'm looking forward to the game. Based solely on your choice of characters... this is going to be an interesting ride. :)

I've added Nightstall Enforcer to my character sheet. Feel free to let me know if I need to change the format any.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

Just popping my head in to say thanks for the chance to play, I'm excited, and congrats to the rest of the group! I'll update my sheet in the A.M. and see you all tomorrow. Wahoooo!!! :)

Male Catfolk Bard ( Dervish Dancer ) 1 Theme Song

Checking in, will update in a fee hours. Thanks for the opportunity.

HP 46/54 :: AC 24 T 19 FF 17 :: CMD 24 :: F +8 R +12 W +4 :: Initiative +6 Perception +12 (-4 sight-based/+2 traps) :: Google Doc

Checking in. Thanks for the game, InVino. Will update Javi with the (killer) trait later this morning. Looking forward to meeting everyone's characters. :)

M (HP 8/8 | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 14 | F +0 | R +4 | W +1 | Init +2 | Per +3) Suli Bard 1 (Thundercaller)

Yes, thank you for the selection. I will be updating the sheet throughout the day. Are there any links to resources about this specific setting that would be beneficial for us to review?

HP 46/54 :: AC 24 T 19 FF 17 :: CMD 24 :: F +8 R +12 W +4 :: Initiative +6 Perception +12 (-4 sight-based/+2 traps) :: Google Doc

Katapesh is in Golarion (I assumed we're playing there). google "golarion wiki katapesh"... good free resource if you need a crash course.

HP 46/54 :: AC 24 T 19 FF 17 :: CMD 24 :: F +8 R +12 W +4 :: Initiative +6 Perception +12 (-4 sight-based/+2 traps) :: Google Doc

Also, DM IVV, what are your thoughts for the Spring loaded wrist sheath? It'd be an awesome addition to Javi, but it's not on the PRD. It's from the Adventurer's Armory.

Let me know your thoughts.

Stop me if you've heard this one:

A Catfolk, Ratfolk, Suli, Halfling, Human, and Gnoll walk into a bazaar bar...

HP 46/54 :: AC 24 T 19 FF 17 :: CMD 24 :: F +8 R +12 W +4 :: Initiative +6 Perception +12 (-4 sight-based/+2 traps) :: Google Doc

LOL. Is this the one with the six-inch pianist?

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

... or the fun-gi?

So here's a little bit of a breakdown for the group:

Gnoll Ranger
Halfling Ninja
Human Ranger (Shapeshifter)
Ratfolk Rogue (Survivalist)
Catfolk Bard (Dervish Dancer)
Suli Bard (Thundercaller)

I'm fighting the temptation to try and strategize. I think it'll be more fun to just jump in and see how things shake out. With a less-optimized, healer-less group like this it's just gonna be pure excitement.

DM InVino:
Hey with my trait, which is awesome by the way, did you mean "+2 Stealth or Bluff bonus for hiding caravans and tents" as you stated?
Or "+2 Stealth or Bluff bonus for hiding in in caravans and tents" as I expect you meant?

... then the Nightstall buyer says, "wait, wait, you have to read the card!"

I think we're gonna get along fine, guys. :D

The breakdown that most raises my bushy brows (gnoll) in a good way is the 50k foot view of the classes:

2 Rangers
2 Bards
2 Rogue types

That's a lot of versatile and skilled characters with just enough magic to get into serious trouble. I like it.

Scarab Sages

Kitchikez:
No, I mean hiding caravans or tents, as in concealing small structures. Yin Hu moves around a lot and you've learned how to take down our pt up a tent without anyone noticing.

And yeah, I liked your applications, you stayed the whole way, you can pick up healing that works, and I thought, these guys cover all the bases just tightly.

Also, I have to think for a bit about the spring loaded wrist sheath... It's quick draw for some light weapons, not sure about all the consequences yet.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

@DM InVino - Got it :)

No problem. It's not a huge deal, just a cool item that Javi would definitely like.

Male Catfolk Bard ( Dervish Dancer ) 1 Theme Song

Apologies, today turned out to be much busier than anticipated, haven't had a chance update. Will try to do now. I'm on EST, I cam usually post throughout the day by phone, but adjusting character is a little harder.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

So, not that I'm excited to get started or anything, but when are we aiming to get started?... or anything? :)

Male Human (Keleshite) Ranger/1 (Shapeshifter)

Sorry for the late arrival. I was under the weather and stayed home from work last night.

I was also very curious at the selections. I did not expect to see Shaggar and Maw"ud in the same party. I especially like that we are each others favored enemies. =D

Just as I have to say almost every Saturday morning when I sit down at a table of Pathfinder Society... No clerics does not mean no healing. We have four characters who have healing spells and/or can use healing wands without UMD. The other two characters may even have ranks in UMD.

I have updated my character and am racing the rooftops on some as yet to be created game thread.

Male Catfolk Bard ( Dervish Dancer ) 1 Theme Song

Character updated.

@ GM Whats is long-distance? +100', +200..?

Long distance is whatever makes sense for the story. In a dungeon, there is (almost) no long distance. It could be miles in the distance, it could be across to the other side of the battlefield. Since I'm not going to always have battle maps, a specific measurement is not going to be so helpful.

I'll get the game started this weekend; I'm running around quite a bit right now, so it might not yet be today. I'll have final questions on PCs posted, but I won't let it stop the action.

That's what I was thinking, so I'll just roll normal Perception and you can add the +1 whenever applicable.

Sounds good. Looking forward to it!

And there we go, character sheet formatted for DM's ease. (Though I retained my Hero Lab reference sheet in a separate spoiler at the bottom for my use!)

Great... Now I can't stop thinking about how best to play a non-stereotypical gnoll. :D

Male Catfolk Bard ( Dervish Dancer ) 1 Theme Song

Updated character again, realized I had put in my Perform skills.

Scarab Sages

So I didn't get to finish the first post over the weekend. I haven't forgotten, just making sure everyone knows I'm still here and still working on it.

HP 46/54 :: AC 24 T 19 FF 17 :: CMD 24 :: F +8 R +12 W +4 :: Initiative +6 Perception +12 (-4 sight-based/+2 traps) :: Google Doc

Appreciate the update.

Male Catfolk Bard ( Dervish Dancer ) 1 Theme Song

Still here, just as excited.

M (HP 8/8 | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 14 | F +0 | R +4 | W +1 | Init +2 | Per +3) Suli Bard 1 (Thundercaller)

No worries.

Yep. I'm of the mind that it's best for the DM to get the post right rather than get it out quick and flawed - particularly on those early establishing posts.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

Ready and willing, locked and loaded, prepped and ready, and all those things.

Got on clean underwear? Have you packed a toothbrush?

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

Two toothbrushes, and Kitchikez goes commando...

M (HP 8/8 | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 14 | F +0 | R +4 | W +1 | Init +2 | Per +3) Suli Bard 1 (Thundercaller)

Two toothbrushes. One to clean his teeth, the other to clean everything else.

I hear the ladies love that Ratfolk hygiene plan. :D

Just don't get those toothbrushes mixed up.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

It's important to get lots of air circulating in the desert, keep those rashes and chafe-age to a minimum.

Male Catfolk Bard ( Dervish Dancer ) 1 Theme Song

I guess catfolk just lick themselves?

Well you know the old gnoll sayin...

Why does a cat lick his own balls? Because he can.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

Those gnolls, always with the latrine humor.

HP 46/54 :: AC 24 T 19 FF 17 :: CMD 24 :: F +8 R +12 W +4 :: Initiative +6 Perception +12 (-4 sight-based/+2 traps) :: Google Doc

And that right there is about as clean as gnoll humor gets.

Hey that was from the 'high brow' section of the Gnoll Book of Yuk Yuks!

True story - the original Three Stooges shorts? Shot with gnolls.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

Is that why they're call 'shorts'? *baddum chhhh*

Hoooooooo!!!!

He's here all week folks! Try the veal and don't forget to tip your waitress.

:D

A quote from Kitchikez coming off-stage.

Scarab Sages

Working on the post... but I might end up falling asleep before I post it.

So here's an opening act.

Male Human (Keleshite) Ranger/1 (Shapeshifter)

Still ready and rarin' to go! I am a little worried that I might slow down the posting as everyone else seems to post in the middle of my night. =)

Scarab Sages

Post when you can! I run around a lot, so I doubt I'd be posting more than once a day anyway.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

Where you from Maw'ud? I'm in Utah, USA. Mountain time zone.

Male Human (Keleshite) Ranger/1 (Shapeshifter)

Dallas, Texas, CST. I start work at 11 pm and sleep during the day so, I rarely post outside of work.

Male Ratfolk Rogue / 1

Ahh, working the night life. ;) Well I'm sure the posting schedule will work out just fine. You'll probably just end up doing some retroactive posts now and then I bet.

So anyone going to Con? I'm planning on it, but also may be starting a new job here soon. So that could screw everything up.

HP 46/54 :: AC 24 T 19 FF 17 :: CMD 24 :: F +8 R +12 W +4 :: Initiative +6 Perception +12 (-4 sight-based/+2 traps) :: Google Doc

Maw"ud, if you don't mind me asking (and I'm fine if you're uncomfortable sharing), where in the Dallas area are you? Im way up in McKinney, myself.
