Treasure: Tartuk has had the kobolds pile all of their treasure (plus any new treasures they gain from their war against the mites) in a heap in the eastern alcove of his den.

Nedyr looks to the others, realizing he's doing most of the talking and wondering if he's coming across as rude for it, "Well, my suggestion is we help broker peace with the mites for you. That does leave Tartuk. If we knew where he was, we could hunt him down for you. Maybe the journal, once translated, will tell us more about where he might be. In the mean time," A thought occurs, "How are your people with traps? Maybe you could set some. Being invisible wouldn't protect him from that, would it? You'd have to make sure no innocents in your tribe got hurt by them, but even if you only set things that make noise, it might give you more security. If you lack the materials, there is a human trader we know. I shouldn't speak for us all, but I'd gladly act as go between between you and him so he might order the craft good required. Alexander listens some before putting forth his opinion. If Tartuk can be found and caught it may help matters to turn him over to the mites for justice. Even offering his body and explaining that he was the force behind the conflict may help mend some fences. As to the traps and defenses I would suggest having your men start to carry chalk dust or flour bundled in cloth. If you or your men have suspicions that Tartuk has returned while invisible the dust can be thrown into the air to try and pin point his location. It isn't perfect but it does offer a means to counter that particular trick again. I imagine chalk dust shouldn't be to hard to collect.

He notes the way Rowena stressed the word 'pet', and supposes if he were a cleric, he might take offense to religion being used as a scam as well and find a arcane creation being called a god even more insulting.

As for Alexander's suggestion, he admits openly, "That chalk and flour idea is brilliant. I may gather a bundle myself in case we end up facing an invisible foe again."

"So, are we heading out from here to the mites or waiting for Mikmek to return or?"

You are a bit surprised when the kobolds start barking back and forth amongst each other about traps, in all the world few creatures enjoy crafting traps as much as a kobold, though after a time you catch several of them pointing at you lot and one of them hops across a stick as if riding a horse......

Draconic

Spoiler:
The kobolds are thinking that they need to test the dust aspects of the trap on a fast moving creature like a horse, and they want to do the tests outside. Markov will of course translate, unless Alex wants to.

"Well... I guess they could use Snow for practice, but she's a bit too big to go near the caves. And unruly for anyone except me." Markov smirks as he listens to the Kobolds planning. "It will be interesting to watch though. And they gotta remember that they are facing someone their size. So it is easier to do it to each other. Hehe...."

So, we're waiting on the appearance of Crackjaw? I don't think we need to be around for the kobolds to test their traps ... If they are setting these things for (an invisible) Tartuk, then wouldn't it make sense they use another kobold to spring the trap rather than a horse? Shrugs.

I agree very much so. But it is still amusing picture to see them try to trap a combat trained horse, when most likely they haven't really seen one before. I think. >.>

Heh.... "They got him" *angry whinny* "They don't got him."

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

The kobolds go outside and select flat stones one on the ground, two they set in the ground and stand upright to similate walls the fourth they put across the top of what looks like a door without a house from a certain point of view....

Apparently kobolds test traps outside......

They are discussing placement and talking about summoned creatures......

It is not too long before the mite Crackjaw shows up with Mikmek, the two of them are talking a bit about different things.

Thanks again to those who stayed to this point, and to the newer guys welcome.
