After about an hour of flammable item gathering, the pirates return to the scene of the orgy. Splurg has kept watch with Spots, seeing the orgy wind down and turn into a snoring, disgusting mess of bodies, blood and other fluids best left to the imagination. With the thoroughness that only a race of pygmy pyromaniacs can muster, a mass of flammable objects as well as oil stolen from the many lamps that line the caverns is assembled.
And what is the plan, oh burning ones? You tell me what you want to do and I'll describe the aftermath... ;)
gm, can I add my extra fire damage to this trap of my design?
I believe we intend to sneak in and sneaky stab as many as we can before getting noticed; then dodge/tumble/run for the exit as as finish passing through; the least sneaky of us who waits behind with some fire; lights the trap after a few of those following get into it; I expect some of us will also fire missle weapons before we post haste out of the tunnels. That is the short range plan; we gots nothing for what to do when they get through the trap; but then; weeze goblins not master strategists.
During the sneaky stabby Spots can participate but I will be off on a fringe ready to cast Entangle once it's time for us to run to give us a little more chaos/things that can burn :D
cool beans; and extra +1d4 for damage from my burn burn burn feat psst, lets make sure we kill a whole guy before hitting another so maybe they dont notice; we catch em falling and lay em down; theys attention at the front; lets see how manys we can sneaky gits
Greblak will not sneakystab anyone. Instead, he will wait while the others sneakystab as many as possible. When the victimcrowd starts to wake, that will be Greblak's moment! Wand of burning hands into the crowd, burning as many as possible! Then running.
touch attack roll at crowd 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Fire damage 5d4 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 3, 1) + 1 = 16 in 15 foot cone
We could do this all as a series of rolls, but since it would be a chaotic scene, let's do it in a narrative fashion. I'll set the stage, you tell me what your character is doing. Assume you'll succeed unless it's wildly improbable or funnier if you don't!
After a flurry of preparation the pirates are ready for the attack. The floor of the hall is shadowy, covered in writhing bodies, snoring forms and dead things best unspoken of. The altar is bare now, the "priest" has fled, although a single prisoner still sits in the cages, silently watching the scene unfold.
In the small room, the goblins have assembled a few casks of oil, several flammable objects and small torches near each one, ready to light the whole thing when the time is right.
As they descend from the shadows, they are unseen, moving amongst the many bodies in the room, doing dark deeds in darker places...
Each character give me a short paragraph about what you do, then assume the room is finally roused by the actions at the end of your narrative.
<=== coupe de grace on as many as I can in true rogue style, moving stealthily, killing, and stealing a bit here and there if anything catches my eye; take a look at the prisoner as well to see if it/he/she is worth saving or enslaving ourselves.
Hating the smell of undead Spots focuses his attentions on those. Splurg stands off to one side(near the tunnel) watching the progress of everyone. Once the craziness ensues he recalls Spots and cast entangle in the mass of bodies where the most people still look alive and run back to our set up barrels in the tunnels to light one and run like heck.
Ank-hore slides into the room looking for his potential victims seeing the faces of the humees that tortured him and took his hand going up to each one of the creatures putting the blade of the sickle just under their jaw slitting their throats, once they are dead he is taking an eye for the Lady of the Lastbreath.
We will add in the others as they post. Holidays and RPG Superstar may claim a few, I fear.
As one the goblins move into action. Whosi slips into the shadows, moving as silently and as deadly as a plague. He slips between sleeping and unconscious bodies, cutting throats and purses with equal ease. He slips his treasures into hidden pockets for later perusal. He is the last to be noticed, his stealthy ways taking him deep into the room, close enough to see that the prisoner near the altar is wearing a uniform that looks like the ones the Chelish sailors wore...
Crang, never know for his subtlety, keeps to the outside of the room, where his ministrations go unnoticed for quite a while. He chops with vicious glee, cutting off heads and ears and grabbing pouches and things that shine or sparkle.
Ank-hore moves with a religious glee that terrifies. His sickle gives each of his chosen sacrifices a permanent grin that smiles like Lady Lastbreath's sharks. He pops out an eye from each as he goes, and soon has a full pocket of eyeballs.
Spots moves like a slinking shadow, pouncing on the still undead, his muzzle and claws soon wet with dead blood.
The gig is up when a sleeping kobold suddenly awakens to see his companions head sitting between his knees, and a grinning Crang rifling through his pockets. The Kobold screams, a high shrill call that soon ends in a wet THUMP as Crang's axe claims another. But the alarm is given! And across the room the sleeping horde arises, while the goblins beat a hasty retreat. As the horde begins to rise to follow, Splurg's whispering words call the fungus and blind roots in the cave to life, tripping and grabbing at ankles.
The goblins reach the top of the tunnel where Greblak waits, a torch in hand. With pyromanical glee, he touches each wick lightly with a lover's kiss of fire, and Crang kicks them down the winding tunnel. They roll into the room and smash into unlucky souls. With a crack and a low WHUMP the casks break and explode with flaming oil! In a few brief moments the back half of the cave is full of flaming bodies and ghouls that burn. Panicked cultists flee for the exits as the obese Priest steps into the room. He points at the goblins and five ghouls lope forward on all fours, moving like great undead hounds.
The ghouls will arrive shortly. Please post any preparations you would like to make in one round and then initiative and actions for the first round of combat, please!
Assuming I successfully sprint/tumbled/whatever out of there
let em gits good in da trap and weel fire it up. not sure what the damage will be GM; so you can roll it for us if you wish and add our bonus damage. If I also have time; will sling a stone or two; count what is ok, disregard if not appropriate.
Splurg is going to cast Summon Nature's ally 2 (ant, giant(using drone stats)) before ghouls get here The Ant will be summoned at the priest if he looks like he is going to stay engaged in the fight, if the priest is already retreating he will keep the ant to attack the ghouls
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21init
1st round of combat
Splurg will attack any ghouls getting close to him attempting to flank with Spots who will also attack, the ant will attack either the priest or one of the ghouls depending on where he ends up
1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20vs AC with Nasty Schimitar
1d4 ⇒ 4
Greblak will ready his action to use as soon as the ghouls come within range. When they do, he intends to give them a face full of fire from his wand of burning hands.
Attack roll 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
fire damage 5d4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 2, 2) + 1 = 10 in 10 foot cone
Crang chucks his throwing axe, taking the lead ghoul high in the shoulder and eliciting a scream of pain and rage from him! 6/13 HP Ghoul 1
Whosi loads and whirls his sling, but his stone bounces off the tough skin of the second ghoul and doesn't seem to impede him. Meanwhile, Splurg chants words that tickle the back of your mind as a ghostly shape of a giant ant begins to form in the air.
Greblak holds his spell until the last possible moment, unleashing his wand's burning fire!
The lead ghoul falls, already wounded and now burning as well. Only the second ghoul is less damaged, as it dodges behind the lead ghoul's corpse.
G1 - DEAD again.
G2 - 8/13 HP
G3 - 3/13 HP
G4 - 3/13 HP
G5 - 3/13 HP
The priest hangs back, his odd obese bulk slowing him down. His skin crawls, literally, as something moves beneath it!
This spell functions as ray of exhaustion, except the target is sickened if it fails its save and unaffected if it makes its save.
Ray of Exhaustion
School necromancy; Level sorcerer/wizard 3
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (a drop of sweat)
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect ray
Duration 1 min./level
Saving Throw Fortitude partial; see text; Spell Resistance yes
A black ray projects from your pointing finger. You must succeed on a ranged touch attack with the ray to strike a target.
The subject is immediately exhausted for the spell's duration. A successful Fortitude save means the creature is only fatigued.
A character that is already fatigued instead becomes exhausted.
This spell has no effect on a creature that is already exhausted. Unlike normal exhaustion or fatigue, the effect ends as soon as the spell's duration expires.

Ank-hore's hit is true, but the priest seems to shrug off the effects, not even pausing to vomit. The ghouls spring forward, their maws slavering with the imminent taste of flesh!
G2 - Attacks Ank-Hore 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 damage
G3 - attacks Splurg 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 damage
G4 - attacks Crang 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 damage
G5 - attacks Greblak 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 damage
If hit, please make 2 Fort saves, please!
Splurg lashes out at the ghoul attacking him, cutting him down with his wicked scimitar! Spots alters his attack, springing at a nearby ghoul (G2) and biting him viciously. His attack doesn't kill the undead thing, but it does pull him from his feet! Meanwhile the ant grabs hold of the priest and vicious stings at him, 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17, but the priest shrugs off the poison. He is, however, grabbed!
Greblak's screaming flaming skulls erupt from his outstretched hand and fly toward the priest! 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 However, curiously they evaporate before hitting the Priest, doing no damage at all!
Crang I need your Fort saves before resolving your action!
Whosi holds his action, waiting for the perfect time to spring his trap!
The Priest, grappled by the ant, attempts to struggle free! CMB 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 vs a DC of 17. With a vicious burst of strength, the Priest breaks free of the ant! He shudders, his obese bulk shivering oddly and staggers forward toward the party. He'll be in melee range next round.
I still need Fort Saves from Crang and Ank-Hore, but everyone go ahead and post round 2 actions, please!
Crang feels his muscles begin to stiffen as the Ghoul bites him. He fights it off enough to swing his greataxe and bury it into the ghoul's forehead, killing it! He does feel a bit queasy, still, as if some foulness of the ghoul's saliva remained in his system...
Only G2 (prone) and G5 (attacking Greblak) remain alive!
Ank-hore, too, feels the slow creeping numbness of the ghoul's supernatural paralysis sweep over him, but manages to fight it off. Still, the wound feels oily and foul, as if being bitten by an undead carrion eater was somehow less than hygienic.
Ank-hore, go ahead and take your action. Then up is the ghouls, Splurg and Spots (already posted! Thanks!) and Greblak, Crang and Whosi, then the Priest lastly.
Ank-hore's strike is less than impressive, missing the ghoul by a hand's breadth. The ghoul stands and bites at Ank-hore, drawing an attack by the cleric!
I want maximum number in teh tap with least amount of danger to the group, i figure it will take a round or two to really get going; it looks like we are in hand to hand now; so this looks like it might be good time
Whosi gleefully lights the trap, causing the wick to splutter and spit with fire. He dances merrily, awaiting the insanity that is to follow. Whosi, would you care to describe what the trap is going to do next round?
Greblak sends another magic missile at the Priest: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22, but this time the missiles strike home with force! 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12
The Priest recoils from the sudden onslaught of burning skulls and stops a mere 5 feet away from the party. He raises his swollen hands above his head and casts a spell while shouting: "Villains! Interlopers! You are merely meat for Him Who Gnaws! You will not unlock the gate, you will not steal Kabriri's prize! He will EAT YOUR EYES!" With this, a burst of blackish energy erupts from the Priest, burning everyone in the party with negative energy!
Will Save from everyone, DC 16 for half damage1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 negative energy damage
The Priest is the only opponent still active, and he is cut and burnt, but functional. The trap is ticking away and will explode at Initiative 0. Post your actions, kids!
After sputter and catching on the oil; the flames rush forth in an inferno; the fuel stacked just so to pull in more air for a heated rush that singes the eyebrows of any close by and quicky burns off the clothing articles of anything within as the flesh begins to bubble and boil like so many grotesque wax figures. The blast of negative energy mixes with the smoke and flames making a surrreal kalidescope of color
I forget what the damage we decided this would do; something like 2d6 plus our two bonuses of which mine is and exta d4; is that right?
Ant last round for ant and he is out of poison 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 bite
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21crit confirm if hit will deal double dmg
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 grab on bite
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14CMB
Whosi: evasion only works on Reflex saves... Mwah ha ha! I mean, sorry... ;)
Ank-Hore: Channeling, I assume? Sure, let's say you can direct it above everyone's heads to only hit the Obese Priest.
Splurg and Spots and Ant all surround the Priest, hacking and biting and clawing at his obese form. Splurg's wicked sword cuts a great gash into his side, while Spots manages to penetrate his bulk with a claw. The ant's pincers find a better grip, tearing a great chunk of flesh away from the Priest, while its stinger embeds itself into the Priest's shoulder. There is very little blood flowing from the Priest's wounds, but he sways on his feet, clearly feeling the damage. His torn lips still sneer: "Kabiri will feast upon your flesh and the Gate will be MINE! I WILL WEAR YOUR SKIN LIKE A COAT!"
Yes channeling then I will set it up so it only hits the Priest.
"By the Lady Lastbreath, may you drowned own your blood as we kill you." This is said as he hold his holy symbol high looking right at the priest. "It is your flesh that shall be feasted upon. The cleric unleashes a wave of negative energy at the Priest.
Ank-hore's negative energy washes over the Obese Priest and actually seems to heal his wounds! He laughs at your curse and spits at your feet. "You pray to little gods, little priest. Kabiri will eat your faith and spit out your bones. Perhaps your little god will have a use for them?"
He stops laughing as Crang's axe cuts deep into his flesh, erasing the healing he just gained. Even though he does not bleed, his flesh is falling apart, revealing a worm-like thing beneath the flesh suit...
