Of Kings and Commoners - Kingmaker AP

Game Master RPGGGM

With the heart of the Stolen Lands explored and the bandits who ruled there scattered, the long-contested realm finally lies open for pioneers and settlers to stake their claims.:
Amid the rush of opportunistic travelers, the PCs find themselves stewards over a new domain, tasked with the responsibility of guiding and guarding a fledgling nation struggling to grow upon a treacherous borderland. Yet the threats to this new nation quickly prove themselves greater than mere bandits and wild beasts, as the monstrous natives of the hills and forests rampage forth to slaughter all who have trespassed upon their territory. Can the PCs hold the land they’ve fought so hard to explore and tame? Or will their legend be just one more lost to the fangs of the Stolen Lands?

How do you fell about the Invulnerable Rager archetype?

How do you feel about the kineticist?

That archetype is acceptable as well. Just remember that part of the point of this AP is to eventually settle the area so that might be a problem for the plains druid who seeks to keep the lands unsettled and such.

Hm. That is a good point, actually. It seems like it would work out at first, but not so much later on. In that case, I think I will save the chocobo fantasy for a later time.

How about the falconer ranger?

@KingmakerDM: How does this look for my cavalier? Should I continue with a backstory or start in a new direction?

Here's the beginning of Brynmordwyrdd, the powerful, yet "kindly" half-elf sorcerer.

I'll flesh him out more tomorrow after midterm exams.

If it's not too late I'd like to submit a character I wanted to play in KM for quite some time!

I will need to rebuild him as last time I made him it was an AGE ago, but as stated on his profile, his character lived in Pitax and he was once a great artist and entertainer, however he one day became rebellious and defaced various works of art that King Irovetti had commissioned him to make (defaced as in drew silly faces or made certain sculptures more feminine and so on) before fleeing far to the north to avoid being chased down by him.

Never been in a game with one but it sounds intriguing. Could certainly make for some very interesting rp as he invites attack! I would expect you to come up with some very inventive ways to solicit attack. :)

Where can the kineticist be found? I couldn't find it on a paizo search.

The falconer seems interesting, yes, so that would be fine.

Choant, I can't access Mythweavers from work so I'll have to check later this afternoon from home and I'll give you feedback then.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of him.

Is the Guide Ranger I submitted acceptable in terms of backstory/build. And would taking a second Archetype for it (Skirmisher) to abolish the Rangers spell pool be alright as well. I know some folks who have a big distaste for double archetypes.

Kineticist is from the Occult playtest. I'm also interested in a bloodrager spell eater.

Looks good at first glance. I'd rather stay away from double archetypes as well. Thanks.

Hi I'm Havoc/Creed's wife we'd be applying together.

I don't think I have access to either of those so I'd have to say no at this point. Thanks.

? Playtest is free and the bloodrager is available on the PRD....

Occult Adventures

Bloodrager

Spell Eater

I'd say no to the playtest but the bloodrager spell eater would be ok. Sorry about that.

would you allow knife master archetype from ultimate combat for a human rogue?

Fronar_Gossamar wrote:

Sure, looks good.

I'm going to work on a swashbuckler that fights alongside Havoc's bloodrager.

How are you doing starting gold?

Zokon here ready for submission should be all good

YES, been waiting for a kingmaker to play my rogue.

He is going to be a Charlatan archetype, if that is okay.

Also, what sources are you allowing for rogue talents?

Sovereign Court

How would you think about a Human sorcerer with the imperious bloodline?
Basically a Bastard of the surtovas returning from the south just to find his family gone and he wants to restart his familybloodline.
He will be mainly a buffer, starting with enlarge person and moving up.

Anything Valeska should do to improve her odds?

Ohhh....nevermind I see max gold I swear I looked multiple times and never saw it and now I find it....

Sovereign Court

I put in my backstory, I hope it is not to long for you.
I would also be a flagbearer, using either the Swordlords crest, or the erastil one, going the arm route.

havoc xiii wrote:

Max starting gold for your class.

Yeah....I saw that this morning in your first post and felt quite dumb.

Charlatan archetype if fine.

I'd prefer to stick to Paizo material. Anything from them is fine but no 3rd party stuff at this point.

Thanks.

Hey KMDM did you look over my halfling?

Choant wrote:

Briefly, will try and look over everyone in more depth today.

Thanks for pinging me on it!

Both our characters will be ready tonight I'm working a 12 hour shift and haven't got access to our books right now.

I'm starting to feel like I made a mistake not taking an archetype, but none of the available ranger archetypes really seem to improve this character. What would you think of one level dip into fighter (dragoon)?

Kennesty wrote:

Dotting for interest. I know you said no to Gunslinger, how do you feel about the Bolt Ace archetype? The gun is completely replaced with a crossbow. If you'd rather avoid it completely I'd probably settle on either a Ranger or bow archetype Fighter but I'd like to give it a try.

Kennesty - my apologies for missing your question. Yes, I think the Bolt Ace would be acceptable. If you are still interested, there is plenty of time to put together an ap. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try and answer promptly!

Thanks.

I'll be taking applications until the 11th, so feel free to modify anything up until then.

I would like to submit this character. He is starting off as a ranger, but I plan to multiclass into either cleric or druid (hence choosing Magical Knack as a trait). I have a couple of questions:

1)Since I have a rank in Craft (weapons), may I have the crafting discount on my weapons?
2)The Pioneer campaign trait lets me start play with a horse. Would you be open to me choosing a different animal that fits better for a dwarf?

Sorry I didn't respond sooner...

1. Yes, I'll let you do that.
2. Most definitely

Ok everyone, here is what I have for actual submissions. If I am missing someone, please let me know so that I can add to my list for review. I didn't include those who just dotted for interest but there is still plenty of time to get a submission in. I'm creating this list just to make sure I haven't missed anyone to this point who has a submission.

Avery Delman – male Halfling Bard (Archaeologist)
Mark Talbot – male human Mutation Fighter
Gordon Bratiwade – male human Monk
Valeska Talanova – Female human Tactician
Radek Pruzkumnik – Male Half-elf Druid (World Walker)
Andrea – Female human Cleric of Urgathoa
Lyrune – Female human Ranger (Snake Charmer may change)
Halcyon Rastler – Male Human Arcanist
Aestereal – dotted for Hooded Champion Ranger – waiting on app
Celyne – Female Half-elf Oracle
Theodric Medvyed – Male Human Ranger (Guide)
Marlik – Male Dwarf Ranger
Biggle Furfoote – Male Halfling Cavalier (Beast Rider, Emissary)
Brynmordwyrdd the Benevolent – Male Half-Elf Sorcerer (Green Dragon bloodline)
Poshment Underhill – Male Gnome Bard 1
Zokon Santyev – Male human Slayer
Titian Stagson – Male human Sorcerer (Imperious bloodline)

Again, if I missed anyone, please let me know. Also, if there are any outstanding questions, please ask again and I'll answer.

Really good submissions, can't wait to see the rest.

No worries, I've submitted this character instead. Been wanting to try Kingmaker for a long time so I have at least a dozen character concepts sidelined for it.

Cool, that's fine. Personally I believe most 3PP rogue talents are a bit too powerful.

Dotting with extreme interest. I've recently been reading up on Kingmaker with the plan to eventually run into as GM, but would love the opportunity to play in it first!

I'll work up a character after work! Thanks for the shot at being a player for once!

Silver Crusade

still working on my char.

Awesome, looking forward to your character when you get a chance.

Submitting Richard here for consideration. He was originally made for a variation on Kingmaker called Tyrantmaker, with evil characters, so hes a bit of an unpleasant guy.

Luckily, the type of personality he has is one that wont have trouble getting along with the group (They are furthering his goals after all) and his perspective is a nice "Devils advocate" who can suggest the options the others might not be inclined to contemplate on their own. For the purposes of this game, id scale back the wording in his personality a bit, and change him to Neutral instead of Evil.

Ill adjust to a 30 point build if chosen, but the main build shouldnt change at all with the higher stats.

Here is my submission. Witch going into brawler, mostly a grapple focused character, not so focused on magics.
