The force missiles slam into the ogre, causing him to shout in pain. He comes up from his crouch, holding his hook in his massive hands.

These are important, so let's roll 'em here.

"Pappy gonna kill yous! Pappy gonna eat your lips an' face! Yer screams make gud buzz in Pappy's head!" the giant ogre roars in rage.

With unnatural speed, the ogre moves to the doors, shouldering them shut with a crash. The heavy oaken beams of the doors creak with his weight against them.

"Now...you!' he rumbles as he slashes with his hook. The wicked weapon carves into the rogue's chest, spraying blood across the wall behind. 31 hp damage, Kellen

His eyes going wide at the idea of Kellen being locked in there by himself, the dwarf's blood begins to churn and his eyes become bloodshot as his anger rises rapidly. "OH NO YA DON'T YA OVERGROWN, NO GOOD FOR NOTHIN', WORTHLESS...," he then literally screams at the door to end that sentence. "OPEN THE DOORS SO I CAN KILL YA PROPER!!!" Thordak shoves on the doors in an attempt to force them back open.

Rage round 8/23; I'm going with a Str check to open the doors. I'm guessing that's right.

Confronted by the ogre and with nowhere to run, Kellen's face takes on grim resolution. Memories of being cornered and beat up by gangs in alleyway or two come to his mind as he wonders if this is it for him. Let's dance then, you ugly son of a mule-whore!"

NPC'ing Rhi...Rhianni steps forward and speaks words of power. The blood rushes in your veins, and you twitch with adrenaline.

Pappy Kreeg: AC17, T7, FF17

Kellen's blades cut the ogre chief, scratching his thick hide, barely drawing blood.

"Dat's it!?! Dat's yer dance???" The ogre guffaws as he leers at the rogue.

Rhi casts Haste. ROUND TWO: Lym, Tomaru; Pappy Kreeg; Everyone else.

Sorry. I must have missed the part where he slammed the doors shut. I thought they were still open. That makes your previous comment make more sense.
"Don't worry, Praxim. The Lady will provide a way." Tomaru touches Praxim and Thordak and with a quick prayer to Desna, they are in the room with Kellen and the Ogre.

"Do you actually believe you can block my way with your bulk, you bloated cretin?!" Lym roars. "Ignem iubeo!"

The Wizard flicks her hand at the barred door, and two rays of sizzling energy fly forth!

Lym casts Scorching ray. Hopefully, the first ray will destroy the door, allowing the second to hit the Ogre. If not, both rays are targeted at the door. Pappy Kreeg growls with anger as new opponents appear in the room next to him. He shifts his weight from the doors - the heavy timbers actually spring back as the weight is removed - and takes a swipe at Tomaru. 'Anudder humie ta chew! Dis gets bedder an' bedder!' His ogre hook, covered in Kellen's blood, flashes in a wide arc catching Tomaru up under one arm. The blade cuts him nearly to his spine, splashing the heroes with blood and gore. The limp form of the cleric is thrown into the corner in a bloody heap. Unmoving. 53 hp damage, Tomaru; bad time for a crit.

'Save dat fer later!' Pappy roars, whirling his hook over his head in triumph.

Lym's spells slam into the doors, but the heavy oaken structure only shivers with the blasts.

Praxim, Thordak, Kellen, Rhi. Tomaru is down, bleeding out.

Realizing that Kreeg is still blocking the doors that keep Lym and Rhianni from access, Kellen gambles on a different approach. Dashing over the pews and moving deeper into the chapel (and away from the doors), Kellen yells back the ogre:

"You like killin' human so much, then come get me, you mule-whore! I'm sure they find you pretty enough to kiss."

No need...

Thordak's fury matches - no overcomes - that of Pappy's barbaric rage, axe hewing the ogre chieftain again and and again. Staggered by the blows, Pappy Kreeg stumbles backward, unable to defend himself from Praxim's onslaught. The leader of the Kreeg clan in the Hook Mountains dies as he lived...violently.

Kellen go with first post.

Tomaru coughs and sputters as the lifesaving fluid goes down his throat. He's hurt - badly - but he'll live.

AWESOME, guys. Pappy Kreeg was bad-ass. But this isn't over yet...

The doors down the hall burst open as the ropes holding them snap like they were nothing. Out of the room steps an ogre with the lower half of his face removed and replaced by a crude iron mask. He barrels down the hall, gurgling profanities, and crashes into Lym and Rhianni, shoving them back.

Behind him steps another ogre, this one female. Her head is partially caved in on the right hand side, and her hands glow with power...

A lightning bolt crashes down the hall, right between Lym and Rhi, DC15 Reflex for 18/9 points. the energy from the spell washing over the big ogre in the hall.

Dorella speaks crude words of power, focused on the bard. Rhianni's eyes glaze over, and the world goes dark and silent. She staggers backwards, hands covering her face.

The bard, curled up in a crouch in the corner, continues to hold her head in her arms and hands. She doesn't answer Kellen's question. When he reaches out to touch her shoulder, she screams in terror. Looking up at him, her eyes are a milky white!

ROUND FIVE: Lym, Tomaru; Dorella; everyone.

Seeing that Lym is alright for now and the others are gathering up, Kellen turns to check on Rhianni. "Rhi, are you alright lass?"

Don't want to add to your burden of NPCs, DM? But I figured he'd probably cover her too since he's already checked on Lym and Tomaru.

Not necessarily. Failed her save.

"Rhianni, it's Lym," Lym says, urgency in her voice. "I will do my best to undo this spell, but I can't do it right now. Please let me have the wands so I can fight. When we're all back in town, I will do everything that I can for you. Everything."

She does not respond, but continues to scream in terror, curling into a tighter ball and trying desperately to pull away from Kellen.

"No! No! Not me! Lym! Praxim! Where are you? Don't let them get me!"

Tomaru?

"Rhianni, Rhianni..." Lym says, as she - carefully - enfolds the Bard in a hug. "Easy, easy," she says, stroking the performer's hair.

You won't be able to move it, its a screen shot. And I forgot to move it when you Channeled. Will update when I get home.

Tomaru's spirit-sword hacks away at Dorella, cutting her leg.

Rhianni struggles against Lym, her fists beating against the wizard's chest, until she collapses sobbing in her arms. "I thought they would get me...the ogres...Lym? Is that you? I can't see, I can't hear! Lym?"

Meanwhile down the hall, Dorella staggers back, casting another spell. Thordak feels an overwhelming sense of confusion enter his mind, but just as quickly his rage puts it down.

Praxim, Thordak, Kellen. Finish this.

Lym just holds on to Rhianni - but keeps an eye open. If Dorella comes into sight, she will suffer a Wizard's wrath...

Given that Lym has calmed the bard as much as possible, Kellen gives the mage a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder and then turns to help Praxim and Thordak. "Keep her safe, eh?"

A look of focused anger is on his face as he charges after the ogress. If he can move close enough to attack, he'll take a swing at Dorella.

Praxim smiles as Thordak's axe creates vicious wounds on the ogress. Taking a smooth draw of the bowstring, he calmly releases his own rage along with several arrows that embed themselves into the deepest of the axe wounds.

Kellen scores a solid hit, but Thordak's two blows put an end to Dorella. Her mangled corpse crashes backwards, upending the table with a crash. The roar of combat falls to silence.

Drop out of combat-time. There is actually a door to the room south of Praxim on the wall at the end of the hall.

They aren't going any further until they tend to Rhianni. If it weren't for the likelihood that the snake b%+&$ was in really bad shape for her to stay away all this time, Praxim would suggest pulling back, now that they've taken out these three ogre heroes.

Even still, he would bring up the idea as a possibility.

As the ogress crumples to the ground in a giant heap, Thordak's fury subsides. Taking a moment to catch his breath, "Now see? That wasn't so bad now was it you overgrown worthless pile of carrion dung." Turning to the others, he looks over at Rhianni with concern. "What's the matter with the lass? I heard her screaming. Is she alright?"

"She will be as soon as we can get her back to town. The ogress rendered her deaf and blind. Go search the corpses, see if any of them have restorative scrolls or something," Lym says while gently coaxing Rhianni back to her feet. As an afterthought, she pockets the Graul wands, provided Rhianni will let her do so.
