Actually the Ogre hooks would cost this:
5 +1 Ogre hooks: 11,740gp total
1 +1 Ogre hook(human bane): 8,348
---------------------------------
Total for them all would be: 20,088g which when all sold would be: 10,044g.
And the Trident is only actually worth: 11,030gp if it's large or 11,015 if it's medium.
Either way, if sold it comes out to roughly 5500gp.
But I'm somewhat tempted to keep it if it's a large weapon. If it's medium, I'm probably gonna keep a regular +1 ogre hook.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
@Lym: Actually, adjusting from a +1 bonus to a +2 is 6,000g cost. For you it would only be 3,000g since you're crafting it. I'm totally guessing here you're basing the 4,000g off the 8,000g cost of a +2 weapon. Of course, you may very well be aware of the 3,000g cost and just wish to make a profit, which I must admit, makes you a heck of a business person. I have heard that it's a dog eat dog world out there and we better not be wearin' our milk bone underwear. ;)
Lym Blackhand |
^^; I'm not that savvy or greedy a business person; I just made a mistake. 3.000 gp and 3 days it is.
How long will we wait to go?
Lym Blackhand |
Okay, guys. I need at least one day to scribe two scrolls of Dimensional anchor. This is a hard requirement for the next confrontation with Lucretia.
I would like to take another day to upgrade my falchion, but that isn't a hard necessity.
Upgrading Kellen's sword will take me three days, so that makes a total of at least four days before departure.
Kellen Wrensler |
I am good if we need to press forward without the enchantment. If we are going to wait the four days, then please move forward with it.
Magic Item Creation Table for Gold Value
Per GM, all items would be sold at 50% of price:
Phylactery of Positive Channeling 11,000gp x 1/2 = 5500gp
Gloves of Swimming and Climbing 6250gp x 1/2 = 3125gp
+1 Ogre Hook(5) - 24gp(base)+300(masterwork)+2000(+1 weapon bonus)=2324 x5=11620 x 1/2 = 5810gp
+1 Ogre Hook (Human Bane) - 24gp(base)+300(masterwork)+2000(+1 weapon bonus)+2000(Bane=+1 weapon bonus)=4324 x 1/2 = 2,162 gp
+1 Vicious Adamantine Trident - 15gp(base)+300(masterwork)+2000(+1 weapon bonus)+3000(Adamantine cost)=5,315 + 2000(Vicious=+1 bonus)=7,315 x 1/2 = 3,658gp
(If I am in error, please feel free to clarify.)
Behir Comb - Sell= 850gp
Scroll of Cone of Cold - Lym
Scroll of Hold Monster - Rhianni
Scroll of Telekinesis - Rhianni
Ioun Stone - Lym
Coinage:
Current party total is 5,157gp
If we stay long enough to sell all the latest stuff, then add 21,105gp
New grand total is 26,262; each member has 4,377 for each.

Okay, magic item calculations actually work like this:
Say you have a +1 weapon which = 2000g.
Now, if you add something like, keen,or vicious, etc, etc(and all of those are +1 abilities) then your +1 weapon effectively becomes a +2 weapon.
So that 2000g +1 weapon actually is now effectively a +2 weapon which is now at a cost of 8,000g.
So say you want to add Holy special ability which is a +2 bonus. Well then your +1 weapon is now equivalent to a +3 weapon. Which now has a cost of 18,000g.
The +1 and +2 bonus of weapon special abilities are actually added to the +1 bonus of the weapon making it equivalent to a +2 or +3 weapon cost. And a weapon can't have any abilities without it being at least a +1.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------
Otherwise, think about it this way: if we could actually add a +1 bonus at a cost of 2,000g, shoooot, we could add a household of special abilities for squat! You could spend a mere 10,000g and have FIVE +1 special abilities added to a +1 weapon. That'd be a pretty awesome weapon at such a low cost, you gotta admit. :)
The trident breakdown would be as such:
Trident: 30g(Because a weapon doubles in original cost when it's large. And just as an fyi, the bigger it gets the more it will increase in cost originally); 300g for masterwork; 2000g for +1; 3000g for adamantine; adding vicious to it(a +1 bonus) adds 6000g.
Which total would give you 11,330g.
All of the ogre hooks are pretty much correct. The only discrepancy there is the original cost should be 48g instead of 24.
And the Bane ability on the different one should read 6,000g.
Hope this helps. I'm not the best in explaining things but I tried to break it down as best I could.
Javell DeLeon |
Also, I think I'm gonna snag the Trident and the Gloves.
I figure if no one wants the gloves, might as well use 'em until something better comes along. Or until I can have some made that I prefer more at a later date.
So if no one wants them, I'll take 'em. :)
Rhianni Verdani |
If you want the money from the gloves, Rhianni has a max of 8 x Touch of the sea, which gives you a swim speed. She can also give 7 x Fly spells instead of climb. So if you want to sell the gloves knowing that its fine, I can always cast spells on you.
Javell DeLeon |
For the Gloves, all the Ogre hooks, the Phylactery of Positive Channeling and the comb, I've got it at: 19,519gp.
Split 6 ways would be 3,253g.
But that's only if the comb is sold for full price. I'm not sure about cost on stuff like that.
Kellen Wrensler |
Okay, magic item calculations actually work like this:
Fair enough clarification; I see where I was making my error on gold for bonuses.
That being said, where are you getting those base values for Ogre Hooks and Trident? PRD specifically states pricing and nothing I can see on large weapons doubling in costs (at least under the weapon's section or crafting skill). Can you reference, please?
Javell DeLeon |
Cost: This value is the weapon's cost in gold pieces (gp) or silver pieces (sp). The cost includes miscellaneous gear that goes with the weapon, such as a scabbard or quiver.
This cost is the same for a Small or Medium version of the weapon. A Large version costs twice the listed price.
I will say it doesn't say anything about Huge or larger weapons on cost though. I do notice Herolabs increases the price for a weapon bigger than large but that's herolabs.
I'd guess they just never thought it necessary. Of course now you've got Eidolons you can build in biped form and if you spend enough evolution points, you can make it Huge. Which means you'd need a Huge weapon for it. Or a one-handed Gargantuan weapon.
As an fyi, Herolabs has it as x4 Huge, x8 Gargantuan, x16 Colossal. Which, in my opinion, would make sense.
Lym Blackhand |
So... I'll need four days and 4.000 gp for the sword upgrade, and five days in total?
Kellen Wrensler |
Cost: [i]This value is the weapon's cost in gold pieces (gp) or silver pieces (sp). The cost includes miscellaneous gear that goes with the weapon, such as a scabbard or quiver.
Well now I just feel foolish - I must have passed over that 5 times and not caught it.
Did we add these to the loot already? These are also from the Ettin's cave.
That was already added before this whole weapon sale portion. You are keeping the trident. With the weapon sales, we have the following breakdown:
Current party total is 5,157gp
(*To my knowledge, no large amounts have been spent of that)
New items sold total 19,519gp
New grand total is 24,676; each member has 4,113 for each.
Lym - I guess you'll need 3,000 of my cut for the sword bonus, correct?
Lym Blackhand |
Well, I don't have Teleport in my book, so I'd first need to acquire and transcribe a scroll. That's one day, and would take 1125 gp to buy and 250 gp to scribe.
I can't scribe spells over 5th level at this time. Scribing two scrolls would take me two days and another 1125 gp in scribing costs.
So we're talking a minimum of 3 days and 2500 gp. My Swift Scrivener-power sadly does not apply because the total production costs exceed 1000 gp.
Kellen Wrensler |
Raise dead has a 5000 gp diamond material component. Anyone want to put in on one or two for the group?
Considering I'm one of the more likely to be on the receiving end, I'll pitch a 1000gp of what remains of my share (after giving Lym 3K) and I'm essentially back to where I am in the gold dept.
Kellen Wrensler |
All set?
Soon as Lym gives me thumbs up that the sword is now a +2 weapon.
Also - if they can be picked up, a couple of CSW potions, just in case.
I am also going to assume everyone has their share at this point, and we reset on coinage/items list for the next go around.
Javell DeLeon |
Too bad we didn't think to pick up a wand of endure elements. For 750go, the whole party could have mountain climbed in the nude.
If you follow Order of the Stick, automatically means we'd be invisible too!
Just because of this comment, from now on there is no such thing as a wand of Endure Elements. Never. Ever.
L-O-FREAKING-L!!! Oh my gosh I just died on all this!
And that "Order of the Stick" strip is just greatness. Sooo dang funny. "Please cast Blindness on me." LOL!!! I actually read that one several years back and it still cracks me up. That and the one where the halfling thief thinks he heard something:
Halfling theif: "Wait a minute, I think I just failed a spot check."
Ninja warrior bad guys who happen to be standing right next to him: "We're right here."
Halfling thief: "Wait a minute, I think I just failed a listen check."
Greatness! :D

All, I have to leave the country.
For work, no worries! But I will be gone until this weekend. A little unexpected, and because I don't think I'll have time for my games while away, I'm posting this before I head to the airport.
Understood. Have a safe journey and we'll see you next week.
Javell DeLeon |
You still with us, Deevor?
It's actually been over a month since he's last posted. I know in the past RL stuff has kept him out for a bit. I'd guess the same has happened here.
Heck, I hadn't even realized it's been that long until just now. Where does the time go.
Lym Blackhand |

Just went to PM him and saw this on his profile page - don't know how long it's been there:
"I've dropped from all my games, its just not easy to fit in with life at the moment. Thanks for all the fun."

Hopefully that was written a time ago. But being gone a month without a word sure leaves some doubt about that being the case.
