How dare you address my master, lord of the seventh circle, by his surname! Smoke and fire erupt from the dragon and he rears up, gaping his mouth and baring his teeth. You think I have a choice but to be here? You think that slaving b*tch Izmiara could command such a mighty devil as myself! Had she not made the foul agreement with my master to destroy the d'Apcher family I would not be here. I would just as soon bite off her succubusing head as give her the heart of this, the greatest being I have ever possessed.

"Your master was quite a character," the Lady comments. "I find myself wondering what the Apcher family did to deserve such a lengthy and harsh treatment. Would you care to indulge a curious mind? We may be in a position to help with releasing you from this contract." she asks.

Apcher bastards! It all started 200 years ago when the Lady of Reinghar, Mistress Shea McLoftrein, made a deal with my master...the love of one Lord Archibol d'Aphcher in exchange for the measly price of her Courage. That's right, her "courage". I mean, what could such an abstract thing be worth, after all? Well, years later when Lady Shae and Lord d'Aphcher divorced for personal reasons, Shea visited my lord of hell, demanding her courage back. Of course, my master laughed, and simply imprisoned her.

But when Lord Archibol found out he did something dastardly: he actually infiltrated the seventh circle, with his retainers: worldwound crucaders, the bastards! He stole away Lady Shae...AND recoverd her courage. With her virtue of courage restored, Lady Shae and Lord Archibol d'Apcher quickly fell in love again. True love this time. And over the next 20 years they TERRORIZED my master, frustrating his every move! That's when my master, Lord Miglaru, made a deal with the foul Lady Izmiara, the darkest Succubus of hell, stationed on the moon, to haunt the d'Aphcher house. To sap it's life force!

The dealings between my master and Izmiara have been fierce. It was a great blow to my master when I was captured and enslaved to Lady Izmiara. But i've heard that my master Miglaru has recently captured one of the SISTERS OF VIGILANCE! The three succubi who guard Izmiara's front door! I have no idea how this is possible. But if true the tide might be turning. In any case, i have siad too much! and I have drank too much coors light in advance of super bowl day. Naught nixie. Sorry for such a slow game guys.

The Lady pays close attention to the demon-dragon and his tale. Lady Gabrielle had never known of the darker side of her family's history. Of course, her house was old enough to have waxed and waned many times over the centuries, but devilish bargains had never played a part in the tree she had known. As for facing the wrath of a demon queen, the notion came easily to her. The way her mother Florianne had led the estate towards ruin by indebtedness meant that the devil was rapidly achieving his revenge.

The thought of her mother as an agent of evil was the first thing to come to her. She had ensnared Lord Thomas so completely that he could never lift a finger to resist Lady Florianne and her endless expenditures. Even her mother's decision to send Lady Gabrielle to the Lantern Lodge in Goka would fit a pattern of ruin. With Gerard in Mendev, Dante in the corsairs of Cassomir, and Gabrielle with the Pathfinders, the estate's heirs were all placed in mortal danger. Well, almost all. Violette was destined towards priesthood since she was a child, a path which would remove her from eligibility. It was for the best, she thought. If Violette were capable of experiencing a single clever thought, she would likely have been sent away like her siblings were.

Among all of her lingering questions, one was most prominent in her mind. What of her brother Gerard? Why was he missing from the tree they had uncovered in Euprixia's library? Next-most prominent was the one she could not help but become fixated on: how could she use this true family history to her advantage?

"I know of this family, and their recent experiences with, as you say, Izimara's haunting," she says. "What are the terms of your being bound to her, if you are not bothered by my asking? Is your service contingent on the Lady inflicting a particular amount of haunting? Or are you bound for the length of certain family members' lifetimes? I do hope my curiosity is welcomed."

Using the option to dispel a specific spell, going against that spell's DC not caster level+11. If the DC is less than the result of my caster level check then the spell ends.

Well then, THAT certainly moves the scene along...I read over the rules you cite carefully and I can't see how the demon can continue to posses this dragon. So.

As Sandin casts his dispel magic, a small red jewel lodged on the left nipple of the succubus statue EXPLODES in a shower of ruby sparks and shards. The demon howls as it is wrended from the body of the dragon.

The demon will still be in the room and will be very p*ssed of. So I suppose now it's time for initiative!

He had me one HP away from unconsciousness, I would say that was a fight, even if it was a quick one. Had the damage he done been a little different or his saving throw not been a little better Sandin would have had a much more unpleasant day. Also I am nearly spell dry so it is time to go into conservation mode. Also if you look at his damage rolls he did 30d6, should have averaged 105, with so many dice it should have been very near that. He only did 87, very unlikely to be that low. I'm not sure the probability but I got very lucky.

Looking a little shaken, Sandin turns to Knut.

By all means I will shoot the shadow dragon if at all possible. Too bad incorporeality only gives a chance to hit with only two of the arrows...

There are 2 stat blocks on the page, a Female adult gold dragon with like 243 hp, and the CR18 shadow demon. Whom you just rudely sent to the abyss:)

I wonder if that's its stats while possessed, sunlight powerlessness is also in the stay block, which is a trait of a shadow demon. It does say chaotic evil though... Either way it does not really matter. It was more a question of curiosity because gold dragons are usually paragons of law and good. I wonder what happened to this dragon to make it fall. Helm of opposite alignment? Sandin is curious in the nature of souls so this might fascinate him. May have to do a legend lore with his corpse later.

Note to self, find a scroll of legend lore later. I guess I forgot to put it in my spellbook, that and limited wish. What a dunce.
