3 people walk in the main doors, they go to A2, A4, A6 and one of the NPC customers was waiting for them, he/she goes to G5 and pulls out his pistol.
The other 3 have a heavy crossbow, blunderbuss, and a greatsword
1 breaks in from a 2nd story window and is holding a shortbow.

Everyone on the ground now, this is a robbery.

If people want to do nothing you can, but post that you will do nothing, gametime advances one hour automatically if everyone does nothing and you are automatically sucked to your home to grab your stuff then to the past. If you want to play hero, you can, but remember the only weapons you have on you are the ones you can conceal. If you are a magic user, you are at a huge advantage.

Edit: You won't lose coinage by doing nothing, they don't know we are rich, they are just robbing the bank, not any individual.

I have included the map in my stat line for easy reference.

DG, as a police commander would I be allowed my weapons? I am also blatantly dressed as a cop, if that gives the robbers some sort of predisposition towards me.

Schwartz isn't going to try to stop the robbers himself (he wasn't paid for that). But depending on how events play out, he might step in.

I assigned weapons to the robbers based on description order. Also, the female NPC is now a robber since the other 3 NPCs are male/identical. Hope that's all ok.

Oops, sorry. I read the 2nd floor guy's weapon instead of the third one on this floor's. I'm assuming none of us actually know/see the 2nd floor guy. Or is the main lobby 2 stories tall in a "we can see the second floor" as opposed to there being a ceiling kind of way?

Imperius remains seated, as Aleumoth instructed him, he was afraid and hoped that the robbers didn't come near him.

Yep, and it is also a surprise round if you attack, since they think noone will ever challenge them. And then you will be first in Init, meaning would get 2 full turns before any of them get their first.

Can't see the 2nd floor person, just telling you what he has when you get up there.

Normally I have to roll perception checks for the robbers as opposed to your stealth, but your stealth is a success. And yep, the female NPC as one is okay.

Sorry, I wouldn't have used a generic NPC icon if I knew one of them was going to turn into a robber. I'll give her a new avatar since those two avatar's are my generic non-combatant NPC ones.

Nate stands slowly, ignoring the urge to grab the bow on his back. He brings his hands up slowly with him to show he doesn't intend on fighting, one of them comically holding up a half eaten sandwich. "Ok now, nobody wants ta get hurt. These nice people are goin' ta get on the ground like yoos asked. But miss, reckon about this, you're robbin' a bank in broad daylight. Can't really reckon you're goin' ta get away with this." He gives her an apologetic smile and takes a bite out of his sandwich.

Woman speaks, We disabled the cameras by hacking them. And we will make a clean getaway and we can survive shootout with the police.

Her attitude is now from unfriendly to hostile. In 3 hours I will execute hostages and you will be the first to go
Your character already knows he will disappear in less than 1, so you're not in danger, your weapons even if given to others are magnetic to this portal. So do you try another move or wait out your time laughing on the inside?

Edit: she will act in the surprise round if you attack.

Well the only reason I didn't attack was because I was worried about the hostages getting caught in the crossfire, but I'd prefer that over an execution. Time to die!

Nate shakes his head. "Amateurs. Good technicians but bad robbers. You just told these people that in three hours yoos are goin' ta kill them in cold blood. You expect them ta sit quietly and wait now?" As if to answer his own question, he whips out his longbow and lets an arrow fly at the woman.

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

He's already knocking a second as he turns to the men he was talking to. "Take the weapons from me belt, capture them if yoos can, kill them if yoos can't!" The second arrow also targets the woman.

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Nate has a masterwork longsword, a masterwork morningstar, and a dagger on his belt. Also a heavy steel shield on his back if anybody cares for that. They are all at your disposal.

DungeonMaster

Can't believe I accidentally added the word discussion to the gameplay section, can't change it now. Remember to take the arrows off of your inventory, they are now spent, will now calculate actions of NPCs, but since edrec has a magic ablity readied, he can use in the surprise round before the woman.

DungeonMaster

nanthaniel, make another diplomacy check based upon your choice of words, this affects if innocent NPC rebel against the robbers.

Standing Imperius runs up to Nathanial and takes the longsword from his belt. While doing this he summons forth a spirit of maddness to confuse the robbers.

Aleumoth seeing that everything is going to pecies looks over to Imperius.

"Get ready to rumble."

@ DoubleGold Can we still take surprise round actions after she does?

If we can take actions

Aleumoth glances down at his hands and allows the fell powers within to rise. A small red circle appears under his hands almost forming something.

Taking the standard action to start a full-round action.

DungeonMaster

They do not rebel, also edrec can still use his ability before she acts, and then he gets to act again, first in init after you. she does act in the surprise round because of hositle level, so if your attack plus edrecs attack don't kill her, she damages you before you hit her again.
Since these are NCPs HP is actually rolled, only we get max HP, this was on purpose so that we can fight ultra hard battles on purpose later on.

At aleumoth, you would have to have something readied already if you wanted to act in the surprise round, but all who act will be first in init, these robbers are cocky and think noone will ever challenge them.

So you get one attack instead of two, but the woman is before you, since she is in the surprise round.

He's right, unless you have a feat or racial thing that does this, just pick another spell and I'll say you had it readied, since you were planning to ready something.

You also have not enough skill points, an ability your class doesn't grant until 5th level, and an ability that your class doesn't grant until 13th level. Not to rain on your parade, but I think you need to take a closer look at your sheet.

Edit: Fighter dip got him the bonus feat.

Another Edit: How is your AC that high? I don't see an AC breakdown or any equipment.

"Well, so much for laying low. Guess I better try to avoid getting in the crossfire," Schwartz mutters.

Schwartz is going to move...North? Up. Opposite side from everybody else. Then depending on how the woman looks, he's going to use Entropy (standard action) either on her or the crossbow guy. If he can't act in a surprise round, he's going to spend a mote to be able to do so (free action).

Ranged touch: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 \o/ Not actually sure if this can crit though...
Damage: 5d8 ⇒ (6, 7, 2, 3, 5) = 23

If he hits
The space around his target seems to distort slightly. Before everyone's eyes s/he seems to visibly age, wrinkles appearing and posture starting to stoop.

Edit: Oh yeah, there's a grid. So his move would be to J2. Also, if the woman moves so that she has cover against him, he would've aimed at the crossbow guy anyway since cover is the only reason why he didn't aim at the blunderbuss guy.

DungeonMaster

anyway after we get things cleared up with edrec she will move to H7 and provoke an attack of opportunity as she passes through a threatening square, she wants nanthial dead, so if edrec does have said spell he does 10 damage and gets to make another attack, but if edrec doesn't have said spell then he has to make 2 attacks, one for the surprise round, one for the attack of opportunity.

Um. shartz, the woman, might be dead before round your surprise, so send in a backup action, edit nevermind or the crossbow guy is a backup.

DungeonMaster

oh wait, imperius is the one with the confusing thing, not edrec anyway, I'm just going to say edrec does hit with the attack of opportunity, since she had 2 HP left, she it dead, just trying to get the game on the way.
Will now calculate damage for schwartzs surprise and all those who act in the first round.

DungeonMaster

Edrec I mistakenly took your for another, anyway she is dead, hold person not necessary and is not spent.
And schwartz whether or not that is a crit, not a single one had more than 25 HP, the others would easily kill them, nathaniel is an automatic hit on one of them, they were all level 4 warriors with 20 buy points.
All are dead, and now for a perception check to see if the one upstairs heard any noise.

DungeonMaster

nathaniel, remember to remove 2 arrows from your inventory, they are spent, ammo that hits is destroyed upon contact and 50% chance destroyed on a miss.
perception: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (5) = 8
15 or more means he heard it and will come down immediately, less than that and he stays upstairs, but you all heard the windows break upstairs.

"All" meaning the crossbow and pistol people right? I was under the impression that no one attacked the blunderbuss or great sword guy. I also need to know how many motes I needed to spend to act in the surprise round(s?).

DungeonMaster

yep, you spent one mote schwartz and all enemies downstairs are dead.

DungeonMaster

So, anyone brave enough to head upstairs?

DungeonMaster

The guy upstairs comes downstairs to L2 and sees his friends dead. If you guys decide to attack this one, he is less cocky and you will have to roll for init, although there are ways around this, as he seems frightened by his friends being dead so quickly.

3200 XP divided by 5, everyone gains 640 exp. We are at 8140 exp, expect for the DM's character me who is still at 7500, each individual will have to keep track of their exp, since there will be times when others have more XP than others, more on that explained tomorrow.

As for the dead NPCs, here is what they have: all 4 wearing studded leather armor. Any that have ammuntion weapons will have 8 ammunition left. Of course their weapons. You guys decide who gets what in dicussion. You can choose not to loot the stuff if you rather not weigh down, but it can be sold in town for 20% of the value don't forget.
You guys loot the gold and the bank offers you a reward, all add 25 GP to their inventory.

after that, you guys are sucked into the vortex it is 15 by 15, you guys are all at square 1 or 15 depending upon how the map is made and anywhere along the x-axis. There are grave stones at G5 I7, J11, J14 and B12, there are other grave stones, but they are imbedded into the ground and do not block movement or provide cover in any way. The enemies are on the opposite end. Hellcat at L13, 2 zombies one at B15 and C13. archerSkeleton at F14, shadow demon at D13, Faier seer at d14, great cat at I13 and another at I14. Should be 9 monsters total. Will explain where you are and how you ended up there in the morning, tired right now. and should give someone enough time to draw the map.

imperius is first in init, followed by 2 monsters. Oh and you are all dreaming during this combat, so no one can die, but death could mean lack of exp and a penalty to fear for a while. But since this combat here is just a dream, only half experience is gained from it since there is no real danger. I will say the graves are made of paper, so cover works differently, and you can pass right through them, ranged attacks though can reduce damage by 2 to a min of 1 if the target has cover and the hit is no more than 2 over the AC, as the paper slows up the speed of the bullet, arrow, etc.

I drew the map, though it isn't in color, I used the already drawn bank map and created one below it, though someone can color it and put in a seperate map on a seperate link if they want, or delete the bank map since we won't be coming back to it. We are on the bottom row, place anywhere you want to be. G=gravestone
Hel=helcat. D=demon. Z=zombie. S=skeleton archer. GC=great cat. FS=faiere seer. cal=calathgar which I forgot to say where that was.
When everyone their sheets fixed imperius will be first in init, followed by 2 monsters, actions and damage will be fixed tommorrow, that gives everyone time to fix their sheets.
in case anyone is wondering, the border of the graveyard isn't a gate, but surrounded by neck high bushes.

DungeonMaster

Alright, now an explanation as to how you got here.
As you all finish up the bank and time portal appears right before your eyes, it sucks you in and all your valuable helpful items at your house and magnetizes it you. As you fall through the time portal, you all end up in a graveyard, but before any of you can see the graveyard in good detail, you all pass out and go into a dream. You all know that the dream graveyard is similar to the real one, but not exactly the same.

Dream rules:
1. You cannot die, but death means you wake up and gain vulnerable 2 to fear until the end of the Dming session.
2. Monsters are only worth half the experience they normally give.
3. The only ones who gain experience are the ones who survive through it.
4. All ammo and magic spells are only spent for the duration of the battle, but are not spent in general, you gain them all back as you wake up, since none of that really happened. Alternatively you can't gain items while you dream, so looting the enemies in a dream does nothing.

A crackel of energy, followed by an electric pulse, Imperius's mind raced My luck exactly, a singularity in the middle of the building I'm in on the first day I escape the instatution.

As gravity shifts and pulls him through the portal, he feels an onset of panic, followed by a near black out as energy and the fabric of reality swirl about him.

Inside the rift with him there are others and items, armor and shield assemble onto him along with a sword and pack. Imperius had never seen these before, but they fit him perfectly and were finely crafted. They must have made it for him.

The ground seems to speed toward him, a blink and now there is air and the sound of rushing wind. Below, a graveyard, then blackness. He opens his eyes and the graveyard returns, differnt, but the same. Wrong.

The others are here and nightmarish monsters align before us.

Afraid proper introductions will have ta wait for another time, we got a right bonzer scrap ta get through here!" Once up, Nate presses a glowing hand to his composite longbow. "Jedark vaex!" The bow begins to pulse a deep blue. "Hold the line! I'm goin' ta hit them in the rear!" Aurex crouches, then jumps into the air and unfurls his wings, tearing up the ground underneath him as he takes flight.

Move to mount, standard to cast Gravity Bow. I did not spend any time to focus on Aurex (see class ability "Focus"), so all he can do is take a move action, which he did to take off diagonally.

To Hit: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 = 29
To Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Crit damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 + 2 fire damage that the hellcat is likely immune to

If somehow the hellcat manages to die before Schwartz gets to act, he'll hold his action until an enemy comes within about 10ft of Aleumoth, at which point he'll charge, draw his weapon during the charge, and attack that creature.

Schwart strikes quickly, the air around him seeming to distort slightly as his movements blur together.

Also spending a mote (free action) to increase his AC by
1d4 ⇒ 4
until the start of his next turn, making it 23 (Touch 19, FF 14)

Take a 5' Step next to Shwartz and attempts to make the kitty cat realize I'm the biggest threat to it on the ground!
