good catch there, gabboge. I need to read these rules better, he he. Since Nigthflier is ok with the spell selection, i will adjust the SP used for the MM spells she cast. I could not find where it says it takes 2 addition spell points to cast Greater magic though, Nightflier, I like the change though.
I like the rule as well because it causes people to use a lot of the more interesting spells instead of just damage dice spells.

Yep. the reason I took the spell is she is woefully helpless in combat. Not a good thing in Midnight, he he. i figured she must have a way of defending herself, other than charming hapless foes, since how could she have survived to meet the group initially. I can think of a reason how she knows the spell, but I don't think she would tell you guys, he he

Haha, I don't even think that far combat wise. I think my character is probably going to be the worst. But that is his sort of thing, and hell even the prestige class I'm building him up to has nothing to do with combat at all, and my heroic path doesn't give me anything that affects battle untill like 7th lvl.
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
Nicely run combat. I actually liked how you split up the fights into two more manageable chunks.
In the future it may save time to simply keep our same initiative rolls when we start a new combat right on the heels of an old.
In other games I've been in, we even went so far as to simply assume that everyone just "took 10" on initiative for most fights. It did mean less variance in combat order, but on the other hand it saved a lot of time in rolling, and let the fast PC's and Enemies be fast on a more consistent basis. It also let people get used to a posting order, and even start building team tactics based on it.
Something to think about.

I don't know yet what will I do with initiative. In my RL game, with 2-3 players, I prefer to roll initiative for every round, but I realize that it may be time consuming to do that in pbp. I'm thinking on using initiative modifiers to decide when do you act. That is, those with highest Dexterity act first, and then it goes downwards. That may mean that the caster will always act at the end, so that may not be all that good. You decide amongst yourselves do you want to have fixed initiative order or do you want to continue to roll.

I like rolling as well. Don't have a problem with you doing the rolling however. We could also provide you with a bank of 10 d20 rolls to use when we're not available, but that might be a bit much to keep up with, so please feel free to roll whenever needed to keep things moving. This game has a good pace, so I'd hate to see it get bogged down waiting on one person.
Oh I just realized...Did you mean every combat round or every encounter? I think every round may be too much, but every encounter is fine.

I +1 on the suggestion that nightflier rolling initiative for us ahead of time. Whatever is smoother to operate.

I'm back now, guys. Sorry for the not-posting day, but I had to install Windows on my new baby. I'm calling him SauronX :).
Now, do you think that Pathfinder 0-levels magics will break the mood of the game? I'm not concerned about power gaming, as you probably all realize by now. The mood is all important, though.
About the initiative, the consensus is that I do the rolls?

I'll speak for the group since it's been a while. I think the consensus is that initiative be rolled once an encounter, and that you handle the rolls and just announce the order.
Anyone who isn't onboard with that should probably speak up now.

I agree with the group's view. It is the quickest and easiest way to deal with initiative in PbP, I've found.

Well, hmmm. I really liked the flavor of that feat but oh well. I don't want to step on anyones toes. I will consider some other feats.

Yeah sorry about that, I already wrote it into her BG and evrything. There sre some cool things out there though related to rituals and stuff, maybe look in that direction, he he

There are some good midnight magic-flavored feats in Sorcery and Shadow. You may consider the Ritual Magic feat. Since we will have some overlap, we would be able to use that to do some seriously big-time Necromancy. If you pick up whatever school healing magic is from (conjuration?) you and Gillian could work together to really efficiently patch up the group.
Here's the link to how it works. Check out the example at the bottom.

Yes I very much like that and it fits nicely with my Background.

Ragnar, thanks for pointing out that Flying Kick feat. I put that in and wrote in what the attack and damage would be. Noice. Chops is charging the next creature he sees.
no problem. If you like the idea of turning chops into a freight train, I also recommend Leap Attack (complete Adventurer?) and the Powerful Charge feats from the Miniatures Handbook.
Another fun trick is the Hurling Charge feat, which would work nicely with your weapon choice.

Thanks, I'll check those out. I found a feat called Mantis Leap in Sword and Fist that looked pretty cool.
Hurling Charge fits with what I envisioned as one of Chops' tactics. Hurl the axe at the enemy, then kick him, pull out the axe, and hit him again.

Totally missed this. For what it's worth, I don't think channelers should have unlimited 0-level spells. I do think that would break the mood of the game...

Hmm, yeah, probably do it like this, use the 3.5 version of the 0-level spells per day and for additional castings, use the Innate magic progression, which is like a standard action, then a full round action, one minute, one hour, etc.
Thoughts?

Guys, I am back. Please excuse me for this long absence, but the volcano was stronger than me. Can we proceed tomorrow, or should we wait some time for the players to realize that i am back?
Also, I need a chronicler - someone who would like to write about the adventures of your merry group of bonebearers. The person will get a bonus FP and perhaps something else besides. I don't mind if more than one player wants to be group chronicler.

Just start. People will catch up pretty quick. This game moves fast, but not that fast.

How do you want it to work? A separate thread? A diary on our character page? What format would we be using to chronicle the story?

There is Campaign Journal subsection here. Check out the other campaign journals and pick a format that you like. I suspect that Ragnar's and Ilona's journals would be very different, for instance.
I'm glad to be back.
Glad to have you back. Gotta watch out for those pesky volcanoes.
So, silly paizo-site newb question- where exactly is the campaign journal subsection?

As long as it's not written in Raven speak I'll like it ;-).
