I'm going to withdraw. This character has been accepted in another campaign. Thank you for the opportunity.

nightflier is having internet issues.

Here's hoping the Internet issues don't last too much longer.... Anxious to find out the selections :)

Know your already picking your choices, but would like to roll just to see what I would have had to work with.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 1) = 12 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 3) = 14 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 3) = 14 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 1) = 12 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 4) = 12 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2, 6) = 13 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 2) = 14 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 1) = 17 = 16

Huh...that was interesting...

Glad to see you're back up and running. :) I'll check in tomorrow to see the final decision. Again, g'luck all!

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 1) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 3) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 1) = 14 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 5) = 16 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 1) = 13 12

Okay, I have accepted the following characters:

Morrigan
Dasim Dakat
Argen Bjeonskin
Jevrok

The following characters are accepted if they create a suitable backstory or expand current one:

Maveith
Heroden
Tzadkiel

You can all be from Golarion, or any other setting. It doesn't matter. I need to know what are your goals, your personalities etc. Also, how did you get to Midgard. Do you know each other, or are you strangers? Stuff like that. You have 48 hours to create your backstory and include it in your profile.

The game will start on Monday for those who are accepted. Those who need to improve their backgrounds will enter the game as soon as they do so.

Thank you all.

Many thanks! Looking forward to it :)

Thank you for the opportunity Nightflier, I will try to have additional info on the character within the 48 hours - last few days have been of Christmas frenzy, and there are still more to come - will try my best since I am really looking forward to play this character.

And congrats to those accepted!

Thanks for the thumbs up Nightflier. I'm looking forward to the Christmas Eve kick off.

Ditto. Looking forward to playing. Thanks!

Nightflier:
Well I should have the background for the most part set up, I have personality, Racial Opinions and a little on the goals, I can send you a Doc if you would like or just post it, won't happen till tonight though. I'll make the Alias on here as well, If you would like to see the crunch on him I have an excel sheet that I can send you as well tonight.

-I'll be checking back tonight-

Anything I could have done with my character that would have gotten me accepted or was this just bad luck of the draw?

Summarized:

-Comes from a northern Dwarven Kingdom
-Ventured into tunnels of the deep (getting into trouble)
-Took up mining as a young dwarf (introduced to drinking at an early age due to the other 'real' miners
-Joined the hold militia
-Alcohol tends to be an a way to clear his mind (in other words an escape route from problems.)
-Due to causing 'mischeif' (nearly causing multiple cave-ins in the main hold) he was poised as a merchant
-On a trade to Zobeck, he let himself go with his drinking and got stranded due to the caravan leaving

Personality:

-Adventurous
-Apt to drink
-Rather Stubborn
-Love of gold (like any dwarf)
-Tries to hold a Joyful attitude
-Makes the best of what he has
-fairly active Dwarf

Racial Opinion:

Half-orcs:
Has the stereotypical hate against Orcs (doesn't like the company of Half-orcs and will likely keep a watchful eye on them when in their company. [had a run-in with them as a child that soured his view on orcs/half-orcs even more so.])

Elves:
Thinks elves as 'Uptight' and 'Hoity-toity' attitude. He expects all of them know magic and see's them as too frail to be much good at being a true fighter (Someone that can take a hit)

Gnomes:
Rather enjoys Gnomes, thinks them as very amusing as they are curious creatures. Even so he keeps an eye on them since they are known to be tricky, and he hasn't been around them all that often

Halflings:
Has met only a few Halflings (on a few trips to human settlements), so as a person doesn't have much of an opinion, he tends to be nuetral.

Humans:
Has had the most interaction with them, so he has a wide view of them, a lot seem to be power-hungry but then who isn't, and a lot like to drink, so in general they are okay by Aragoth's view.

Half-Elves:
Thinks of half-elves much more like humans than Elves. Though he tries to be more attentive when they are around.

Goals:

-Return to his dwarven stronghold with something to prove himself to the others, make the others think better of him when he returns with riches.
-Since niether stronghold nor merchant work really sated his need for exploration he was unconsciously searching for something else.. Waiting for fate to happen.
-Find out what really happened to his caravan? (did they truly leave early, deserting him in the process? Or was the trade compromised and the wagon stolen?

Thats good for now I suppose? Hopefully this is good enough to intro me into the campaign otherwise I'll sit back and watch :)

Christmas has illegally tackled me... Slim chance that I will be able to post my background today - even more so since I am VERY unfamiliar with the Midgard setting.

Any chance someone can throw me a hook?

Scarab Sages

Hmm. First off, I am just now seeing the post that you want me to revamp my already somewhat detailed background story. The reasons are complicated, but suffice it to say that I needed access to my work machine to access this threat without a lot of hassle. So, based on your 48 hour deadline I have an hour and 12 minutes. But since I am at work and only looking at this on my lunch break it might be tough to meet. So I would like an extension to tonight.

Second, Since we are both clerics, Heroden, and we both travel, it might make sense that we are traveling together. It would help if you could at least include your deity with your domains. Did I miss that? Is it Desna?

Third, Nightflier, since I have a pretty detailed background, can you tell me what I need to add? What you did not like?

Here is my background, that was included in spoiler in my profile> I believe it covered goals, my personality, and how I got to Midgard. I did not know about the option of knowing the other players but am reaching out to Heroden above to maybe work that in.

A nomad and wandering warrior priest looking for a just cause, Tzadkiel is a follower of Gorum, the Lord in Iron, god of Battle, Strength, and Weapons. Willing to interpose into the business of others for Justice sake, he calls no land his home and wanders in his quest for just battle and a cause worth a fight. Others warned him of the dimensional stability near the world wound, but he chose to wander there as people were in need and the fight was fierce there. So he journeyed. On the way to this scarred land he had many adventures. Perhaps it is this wandering that has lead him to this new land of Midgard, so far away for Golarion. That tale will be told in due course. For now it is enough that he is in this new land and hope to make his deity proud by his actions.

The game thread is up. Please describe your characters as they approach the inn. The inn is called The Nameless Dragon Inn, and each of you was specifically called by letter to come to the inn because of a job opportunity.

Nightflier:

Background and Personality:

Heroden is a man of convictions - his considerable amount of travelling has shown him that black and white are mostly exaggerated shades of grey, taken to their extreme due to an inability to compromise or simply an absence of understanding regarding "alternatives".

His own moral compass has led him, more than once, to clash with other churches in association with Desna - even though he understands that this may be his own limitation, he feels that the extremes of conviction are usually more limiting than an advantage, so he walks a thin line between belief in something bigger than himself, and his own beliefs - Desna has seen fit to believe in him so far.

A traveller at heart, the limited mentalities he has come in contact with had led him to voyage as much as he can of the charted and uncharted world - he looks for diversity and points of view, and counts himself blessed for the many experiences he has had so far - he belives they make him richer and wiser in his ways.

Many times contemplative, usually taking time to absorb the realities of the communities he visits, he is not however above setting his own beliefs on the front line - as open as he may be, he does have religious convictions and causes, and he makes his best to live by these, simply he feels that it doesn't automatically means he has the right or the duty of imposing them on others.

Do not be mistaken, he will not allow evil to flourish or prevail, and has no qualms in setting about on what others would call "righteous might", he will do it of his own accord though, and not by edict or demand - this is exactly what has led him to travel so far, if one takes into consideration that he is still but an initiate in the ways of the divine, having begun to feel stiffled by the demands and considerations of observing obligations that did not make sense on his head or, in his opinion, on his goddess will.

Much like her, Heroden is a dreamer, rarely settling in a single location thus far, preferring to be on the roads of Golarion. He will band together with travellers, enlightening those who are ignorant of the ways of Desna as he meets them, and cordially discussing matters of faith with others more knowlegeable than himself.

He lives as free as he has been able thus far, setting his goals in seeing new sights each day and finding locales unheard of, but often dreamed of...

Heroden, you are fine. Welcome to the game.

Maveith, now I need you to tell that in the form of a story. I will give you several days to write it up.

Scarab Sages

Any response to my post/questions? I guess Heroden turned me down on my offer to incorporate him into my background; no response from him.

My sincere apologies Tzadkiel, I honestly did not notice the reference in your post to Heroden - Indeed his deity is Desna, and I would be perfectly ok with him travelling for some time now with Tzadkiel.

I can imagine already some points in common between them, since Heroden is for sure a melee type of cleric, with an "up in your face" attitude when battle is upon them. But also his more liberal approach to one's will and decisions on how to pursue ideals make me picture some endless theological debates on the horizon :D
