Party is up.
The sentries curse as their bolts only find a single mark and only because of an unfortunate occurence as a bolt rebounds off a rock to strike Fredrik in the knee carving a part of the knee out on its way.
You have all made it to the door but the alarm has being raised but no more quarrels fly at you as it seems that the sentries are now attempting to load their weapons.

Nessian Dog
Party is up.
A tense standoff has occured with Nessian, his dog and three of his hired thugs staring out heroes down as they enter through the door. Nessian is quite a handsome young man but his skin has a rough texture like bark.
His thugs are armed with crossbows and they're empty at this moment. The dog snarls as it bares its teeth.
Falcon Dragorion |
Aww, such a cute doggy. OH GOD IT'S BITING MY FACE
This ends here Nessian!
Determined to cut his way to Nessian Falcon steps into the room striking at the first enemy and will swing at the mutt.
attack- power attack - combat expertise: 1d20 + 6 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 1 - 1 = 18 (+1 if inspire courage is turned on)
damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 + 3 = 16 (+1 if inspire courage is turned on)
Current AC - 19
Personally up until this last encounter I've felt that the game moved at a really good pace.

I'm sorry for the delay. Despite being a 3-star GM, PBFs are still a new thing to me and I'm trying to find my own style and preference. Please roll day jobs in discussion and note any purchase you maybe be attempting to purchase and PM me your email.
Round 4 Order -

Falcon Dragorion
Atisael
Kyras Dhoram

Nessian
Kyras is up.
Falcon's Speech is ancentuated by a crunch as he crushes the helpless mutt's head as Atisael suddenly seems to have lost his mind and rushes the nearest unfortunate enemy who doesn't stands a chance as Atisael smears him across the landscape.
Fredrik on the other hand boosts his party morale with hearty sermon on the merits of good and how it always vanquishes evil.
Dropping his crossbow, the nearest thug frantically attempts to draw his cestus and attempts to punch Atisael, his fists covered with wicked looking spikes. His punch is true and he smacks it into Atisael's face though after viewing Atisael's face causes his to question his decision.
Thug attacks with Spiked Gauntlets, 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 191d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Nessian snarls as he aims a bow at Falcon.
"End? No you fools. This ends here for you. A new beginning has arisen!"
Nessian aims with bow towards Falcon, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Fortunately for Falcon, Nessian's hired thug in his haste to load the crossbow beside him, jostles his aim and causes his to first wide.

Everyone is up.
Falcon Dragorion |
With the mutt out of the way Falcon continues to make his way towards Nessian, attacking one of the sentries that blocks the way.
Attack - Power Attack + Inspire Courage: 1d20 + 6 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 - 1 + 1 = 16
Damage + Power Attack + Inspire: 2d6 + 6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 + 3 + 1 = 16
Falcon Dragorion |
It would depend on the stairs, but I think I'd treat it as them having higher ground - which would translate as them getting an attack bonus against us and possibly a cover bonus to AC - GM has final say of course.
Rylen Dantes |
Sorry for the delay in posts folks! I've been lost in the Rocky Mountains for work with not for a wifi connection in one hundred miles!
Moving up to the battle, Rylen did the only thing he really could, he let loose another crossbow bolt!
Ranged Attack into Melee! 1d20 ⇒ 9
Crossbow Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The aftermath is brutal as spurred by the dangers of allowing the ritual to proceed on, Nessian and his hired thugs are decimated by our heros.
With Falcon making short work of the sentry blocking access to Nessian, Atisael with a quick bound up the stairs finds that a quarrel from Rylen had found its mark on Nessian's arm. With a quick swipe from his claws, Nessian is ripped apart amidst a soft gentle glow as Fredrik heals his wounds.
With the Ritual stoppped, the city of Absalom is safe.
However no one will ever know how close the city came to destruction, no ballads will be sung, no tales will be spread for Yargos words come back to you while you find yourself enjoying a meal at one of the finer establishments in Absalom.
"I thank you pathfinders from the bottom of my heart. It does me good to know that heroes such as youself are around but yet I'm afraid that your deeds today must be allowed to be lost and forgotten. I sense your disappointment but let me explain, should knowledge of this spread, there is no telling who else might attempt to do what Nessian attempted? Nay pathfinders, let it be in your report to your Superiors but word of this must not be allowed to be spread for the sake of the city."
Looking out as the first rays of the sun peeks over the horizon.
"The city is beautiful today this morning isn't it?"
