I think the confusion is that La Siréene cast light on the torch (illumination), the zombie dropped it, then MM went over, picked it up, and lighted it on fire to do damage to the bats.

Also, for those not entirely aware of the situation: The 2 remaining swarms are the only remaining enemies. The mutts are unconscious.

Being in IT, I'm used to jumping to conclusions and prone to wild-azz guesses.

You reported the issue after accidentally posting in the Gameplay thread as Harakani DM (instead of Caromarc).

Could that have triggered something?

I'm relatively new to the site, not familiar with behavior. I'm glad it makes sense to one of us! I was just pointing out a correlation.

...Man, you really know how to build tension with meta stuff, because damn, that is build-up music, and as far as we know, the next battle is a boss battle.

You have made me ambivalent about my feelings right now. Should I feel frightened at the coming horror or gleeful at the prospect of witnessing something, in the original meaning of the word, awesome?

Quick question about the chain... Weapon stats?

How about if we treat it like a spiked chain, only bludgeoning damage rather than piercing? (Later (soon, actually) you can acquire a spiked chain if you want one or buy a magic enchant or something, you'll have enough for a +1.)

Hate to be an integrate, but he was using it one-handed. Maybe just a like a flail? I know it's boring... Or 1d4, bludgeoning with disarm/trip?

No problem. Let's split the difference between 1d4 (1/2 the spiked chain damage) and the 1d8 (flail damage) and go with the 1d6 that you were using (and then like I said if you want to upgrade the chain soon we can do that.)

I assumed, and entered, 500 on my character sheet, yes.

Small creatures have different carrying capacity, so Nameless is currently carrying a Medium Load, giving her a -3 Armor Check Penalty(-5 total, with the shield) and speed 30(down from 40). Her Initative is now 2, her AC 22.

Even with Ant Haul? And the size/weight adj of all the gear? Usually 1/2 or 3/4... Maybe this operates differently.

Just trying to help and learn.


With masterwork backpack, her Str is effectively 8. That becomes 78 lbs after Ant Haul, times 0.75 for small size, 58.5 light load maximum, 117 Medium load maximum, 175.5 heavy load maximum.

So yes, even after Ant Haul.

It will be Light Load once I get rid of the Hide Shirt, however. That thing is a whole 25 lbs weighting down my backpack...

I appreciate questions like that. I can’t think off everything, and questions help make sure I did not miss some important flaw in my thinking.

You know, statistically, the Halfling shape is a very efficient Alter Self for druids - small size is always good for casters, ditto Dexterity, and scent is awesome when both Survival and Perception are class skills and Wis based.

Just making sure you're only counting it as 12.5 pounds, in Halfling (small) form. Half weight for shield as well (just about everything).

So with Carry Capacity decreasing 25%, but weight of items carried/worn decreasing 50%... you should have a net gain.

And, I know it helps when you swoop people up while flying... But, if you ever cast Ant Haul on Sandru, I think "light load" is 300 lbs. And, he's got a handy haversack.

We can RP the Haversack part.

Armor weight is a footnote at the bottom of the charts.

"1 Weight figures are for armor sized to fit Medium characters. Armor fitted for Small characters weighs half as much, and armor fitted for Large characters weighs twice as much."


Halfling, Alter Self.

Halflings get scent because it is one of their racial traits; Alter Self gives Scent because it is one of the abilities it can give, which makes sense, since there are other 2nd level spells that give scent.

On carrying capacity, I refer to Hassan.

0_0 ... you are correct, there is no scent ability on that page...

How did that happen?

My mistake, sorry, that does complicate current events.

They have Keen Senses, and I suppose qualify for the Scent feat.

Armor behavior is under Transmutation, Polymorph - a few paragraphs deep. End of paragraph.

If your new form does not cause your equipment to meld into your form, the equipment resizes to match your new size.

Tyvm! I wave my DM scepter then and say yeah to armor resize, nay to scent. Let it be written, let it be done. (Anyway, I think in this instance the scent issue is moot due to the high perception roll, which covers all five senses.)


Well then, use my perception check for looking around rather then using scent. Should still get some information from it:)
