I meant it to be in front of her. I updated the gameplay thread.

Damn. I thought she would not be able to reach it previously. Oh well, we all make mistakes, not your fault in the least. She's going to use her Dazing touch now, in any case.

DM

So, this works like a melee touch attack? With 20% miss chance because of the smoke?

Network wrote:

Exactly like that, yes. It requires the Nightmare to have a lower or equal HD to La Siréene's, but there's no save.

Here's the attack roll, for reference. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Yay! Made the miss chance roll:D

It is a Spell-Like Ability, though, so the Nightmare does get an Attack of Oppertunity. I apologize for forgetting that bit.

DM

Ok, thanks.

We'll use your roll this time, but just a friendly reminder to all going forward to please post all die rolls for PCs in the gameplay thread using the in-game dice roller.

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

What's the Palamino's Init? Did it burn the Nightmare's AoO for this round or last

DM

The palomino's initiative was 10, but lower dex than Sandru, so it goes after you. It suffered the nightmare's AoO this round.

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

Was hoping to spare LS the AoO, but it sounds like with lower init than Sandru P would have drawn the AoO last round.

We COULD kill it, I suppose. Saves me a spell slot. And the off chance that it makes its save. Also means less information, however.

DM

A little fact of interest. When I planned this campaign, originally the city it takes place in was Kavapesta. Once we began, I was rereading about Kavapesta and wasn't sure if it worked out (I wondered maybe it wasn't urban enough or something, although the concept was Kavapesta in the future, so maybe that wasn't that big of a deal.)

Anyway, I've just been going along saying we are in Ustalav, but technically this is "sort of" Kavapesta. :)

Someone remind me to get a masterwork item of +2 heal checks next time we shop for items. I've forgotten to twice, now.

Incidentally, I loved the description you used for my Dazing Touch ability, Network, really cool.

DM

Thanks! :)

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

@Caromarc... you called yourself, Arasmes.

Yes, the campaign has been awesome, with great descriptions... Kudos!

Male Human Wizard 9 (Teleport) Perception +8

Damnit! I woke up and had posts for both games, got the names mixed up while still half-asleep.
Sorry All

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

Do the stables provide alternate access to the grounds?

DM

No.

DM

Sorry, work has been sort of busy today. :/

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

We're we complaining? Job first!

DM

Eh, that is not my usual life philosophy, lol.

***INACTIVE*** Human Archaeologist Bard/9; Init: +4*; Perc: +19; HP 27/63, F: +7/R: +10*/W: +7

I know the feeling; end of the fiscal year, though, and things at work are crazier than usual.

Well, sorry for that misuderstanding. That makes a lot more sense. I was tired yesterday.

Would it be appropriate for La Siréene to introduce herself and Caromarc as Lady La Siréene Dorée and Earl J V Caromarc, respectively? I'll gladly make knowledge checks.

*edit* Average result on the Bluff check, nice. Thanks for the Guidance, Gaston.

DM

Yes, that would be appropriate.

DM

@Sandru - I added a little description to your reading of the guest book. When I say your mind goes blank, I don't mean totally, but just as to the names you had seen.

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

I understood, it's for the privacy of the attendees/members.

DM

I've updated the map. Note that because they have initials that are the same as other characters, I've represented Ludo Guillemont and Melanie Foxglove by the initial of their surnames, (the letters 'G' and 'F' respectively).

Male Human Wizard 9 (Teleport) Perception +8

Can't wait to see what LS does with this... :p

Thank god we did not go with the shape shift plan... Suggestion, that'd be the ticket, their sense motive can't be that good, but I don't think they'd take kindly if I cast an enchantment on the hosts left-hand woman...

Lies and deception, that's what I will have to use. Sorry for the wait, I'll post what happened previously first, then what happens in the current room.

This is fun! Hopefully, that bought us some time, at least.

Male Human Wizard 9 (Teleport) Perception +8

*applauds*

That was some rather lengthy bout of pointless small talk, so I thought I might as well put in a Diplomacy check there, mkay?

Of course, by "pointless" I don’t mean to say I am not enjoying myself. I am. This whole scene of debauchery is entertaining.

On reflection, La Siréene/Nameless could probably get along with just about anybody. It’s not like they ever get offended or upset at anything. They just curiously consider what the other have to say, compares it to their opinions, states the discrepancy in opinions in an open, straightforward and honest manner, and leave it at that. They don't get worked up about things.

DM

@La Siréene - Pointless?! Hey ! You're getting some great characterization and information (for example what happened to Volst.)

:)

Seriously though, with so many NPCs, I just thought I had to throw stuff out there to set the scene, let you know what you're dealing with. Some of these threads will come back around.

Male Human Wizard 9 (Teleport) Perception +8

Um, did S just switch to speaking *after* Caromarc? I thought he was replying to her.

DM

No, sorry I messed that up because I was revising the post.

Sorry. Couldn't response to the "note" post. I originally wanted to rp this but got distracted at work. Hopefully I should be able to do some rp today.

Btw reading posts on my kindle fire. Sucks typying a response. So keeping it simple until I get to a real keyboard.

Sorry I haven't been very active lately- there's been a lot going on.

I am pretty clueless about what to do about the haunt at the moment, so I'll just ready an action for now, so we can keep moving. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Male Human Wizard 9 (Teleport) Perception +8

Conversation is intended to be flavour, not actions. Please tell me if I go too far.

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

See, now that was a sweet piece of RP, Quinn!

Damn, that is so creepy and cool and well role-played and I am totally into this, people!

Thanks guys. Getting my Rico Suave groove going on. lol

I should write romance novels. hehehe

Huh.

Well, fair's fair. La Siréene could have attempted to defend herself, and did not. And that was a very graphic description of destruction. Well done.

DM

Stay tuned...

@Blackacre - You can still take your turn against the haunt at this point, if you so choose.

Network wrote:

Oh, believe me, I will. Miss an "I am dead. How are you?" conversation? BLASPHEMY.

***INACTIVE*** Human Archaeologist Bard/9; Init: +4*; Perc: +19; HP 27/63, F: +7/R: +10*/W: +7

Gaston, don't forget you can cast disrupt undead; I'm not sure you can stack bane (undead) on top of that, but I don't see why not.

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

I can't do anything without a map and init order, right?

Male Human Wizard 9 (Teleport) Perception +8

OOh, ooh, can you repost init please!

DM

I'm setting up the scene. When we start the battle proper, I'll post initiative and map. (These are always on 'campaign info' page when applicable.)

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

Ummm, can I rules lawyer, if i think you're allowing them to do too much? Pretty please...

DM

Sure. I don't want to be unfair. Thoughts?

Male Human Wizard 9 (Teleport) Perception +8

Sounds like they did a new surprise round
Can concious people in the room have a roll to see them pop out? Gets the -20 for invisibility I guess...

HP 56/88 Male Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Unbreakable 2/Rogue 6

Nothing yet, I'd written that before I checked the game thread. Just that spell casters can be "dangerous". Assuming everything in game thread so far is "setup", given, etc...

Until we're in Init Order.
