As for the boots...that whole network of wires kind of make Quinn sound like a Borg. Can we just do the regular magical boots? Being a half-elf and worshipper of Erastil, it would be against his nature.

Nope. Best I could do is make the wires fine. Caromarc doesn't charge, but gives you something crazy (they don't call him a sane scientist). La Siréene compromises her artistic integrity for a commission ;P

If it makes you feel better, Caromarc paid thousands of gold because he wasn't prepared to wear a headband.

I like the overall idea(s), but feel it might be too ghoulish to do all of them... also, too crammed into too short a time. Flex time or not.

Imagining butchering the carcass. I'd say take the choice few parts (filament, cylinder, etc...).

Cutlass idea is cool, Sandru is not sentimental about the cutlass itself... it's just a very useful tool.

For "bane", I'd say add some micro device to the bow that would resonate (based on some threnodic theory) a natural/unnatural frequency ("normal", "living, "prime material")... that charges the ammunition fired. Against anything else, it's a normal arrow. Against Undead or Outsiders (whichever is chosen) it is particularly disruptive to their make-up.

This could be from knowledge gained instead of from the carcass.

At some later point, Sandru can use some ring/gauntlet/bracer... that generates some force field or repulsion field... (Shield spell, when activated). Could just be a few times a day.

@Sandru: yeah, I like that idea, and against undead or outsiders it works really well. (Has to be a class of outsider, of course, but presumably Quinn's not looking to kill archons)

I like Sandu's idea... really cool. I guess I better decide what to bane against. With Outsiders too many subtypes to choose from. Undead you don't have to choose a subtype.

The Boots...I can live with the setup as long as he doesn't look like a Borg.

Boots don't seem too Quinn. Yuck... We can try to buy boots... Or find them, we're storming a sorcerous cult's compound for Erastil's sake!

You could upgrade bow to +1d6 everyone, pick an energy type. Something outsiders and undead are not typically immune to.

For Shield, could be an actual disk shape. When used as a shield, occupying one hand... +4, if just turned on... Using 2 handed weapon, only +2... Moves around like a dancing shield. Lasts rounds, not minutes. 7 rounds a day. Then recharge, for next day.

Sure - wires can be small and hidden under clothes. As I said, talk to La Sirenee - she can do it too.
Remember Caromarc has to make a spellcraft roll for some of this stuff.

+1d6 energy means running into resistances. Outsiders and undead are usually swimming in those.

Pick electricity or sonic... If something is immune, it's immune. Part of the fun. Can still be resonance related. Natural frequency, explosion type thing.

Immunities and resistances are by subtype. Not an Outsider or Undead thing, much more specific and different subtypes will be immune to different things.

Just a thought, an option.

Caromarc, I'm gonna pass on the Borg boots. I can save the cash for a future upgrade or like Sandu suggested, I may find them elsewhere. Quinn get 3 attacks with Flurry plus a 4th if he uses a Ki Point.

As for the bow upgrade, I was thinking about using the +1d6 energy, maybe the electrical (shock) type.

Pretty much done with Quinn. Decided to pick Improved Precise Shot as his last remaining feat.

Quinn will pass on the boots. Hopefully, he can find them in the compound we are about to raid. Hint, Hint!!

Caromarc will upgrade the bow to discharge electrical +1d6 damage. Hopefully the baddies are standing in a puddle of water. :-P

Well then, I'll just make the spellcraft check now for simplicity, It'll be done once we have 8 hours to craft.

Spellcraft Check, DC 5(base)+1(CL)+5(Does not have Mage Armor Spell)+5 (Double Efficiency)=DC 16: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

Sure. +1 would take 4 hours, +2 would take 16 hours. 500 gold for +1, 2000 gold for +2.

Only that, so far. I suppose I could help Caromarc craft that Belt Of Giant Strength, but this is my only agreed upon crafting so far. Nameless can't craft Weapons/Armor, only Wondrous items.

Yes.

There is a limitation on 8 hours of item crafting/day, though. I could craft Ianez and Quinn a +1 Cloak at the first oppertunity to craft items, the Mage Armor amulet next.

Now, dudes... let's not get greedy. One item a night, for each of the crafters is fine.

I think Network was even being generous by saying he's allow flex-time... which can most easily be managed by increasing the GP value per day that can be crafted.

So, if it doubles... 2000gp, increase productivity to 4000gp/day, by adding +5 to DC. That's not too shabby. Or triples, quadruples. But, it should still be limited to a single item per day.

So, we can make better and higher quality items. Not just pump out several small items a night... kinda cheapens (no pun intended) the ability.

I'm fine paying for stuff (to Sabina, Caromarc or Sireene). Not a problem.

For now, just looking for the +1 Keen Cutlass.

All of these items are not expected to be completed in one shot. Item priorities need to be established by the crafter. We have the cash so let's use it. Hoarding gold is where the greed is at. We'll get more. I'd rather the gold go to a crafter that the drow. ;-)

The Amulet:

Different amulet shape, so a rewriting of the flavor text is in order. I may be the item crafter, but I think you should write the flavor, Quinn. Here's the original item, for reference.

Aura: Faint Conjuration; CL 1st
Slot Throath; Cost 2000 Weight
Description
This amulet is shaped as an intricate, tiny clockwork heart. While worn, this Amulet constantly creates an invisible field of force around its wearer, as the Mage Armor spell.

4. Resistance Cloak +1 (Ianez) 500

Pearls of power are neat, and so are 3rd level spells, so I am crafting one. I'll gladly upgrade the Cloaks as a later priority.

@Network - sorry, I am a little hazy on the particulars - when will our first oppertunity to craft these items be?

Ianez should get the cloak first. I can wait. Monks get increase to all 3 saves rather than just the 2. Ianez needs that Fort bump.

While crafting is going on Quinn would like to scribe a 1st level scroll.

Sorry I've been lurking and not posting during our leveling-up period.

I'm thinking of the following (pretty basic list of) items - as I think our crafters are pretty well occupied, I will just purchase from Madchen Sabina:

add Shock property to greatsword....2k
Belt of Giant's Strength............4k
Bracers of armor +1.................1k
Cloak of resistance +1..............1k
Total - 8k (uses the 7500 from selling dragon parts and the 500 I did not spend when we were all pitching in for our new outfits)

I'm open to thoughts if anyone has any suggestions.

Level 7 HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Includes favored class and CON bonuses -- I'll take a 4 (average roll) if I can.


I have been looking forward to fighting these Sorcerers - finally I'll have targets for my spontanous Charm and Compulsion spells!

Had this image of Sandru "air walking" up to face-to-face level with a huge dragon as a charge. Stairway to Heaven.

Thinking could be an item granting acrobatics bonus and mimicking air walk. Summon Nature's Ally II (small air elemental) and ant haul should do it. :)

Also wondering if Siréene summoned an elemental, if they would know something about what's going on.

Hareton used bandages of rapid recovery on everyone, so your HP is back to full. As far as spells, that depends if everyone feels okay to go on as we currently are, then it will be about two more encounters before you have another chance to officially rest.

Not being 100% and depleting supernatural abilities will help showcase the boring "in the trenches" dudes like Sandru and Quinn. Just give us something to impale, hack and slash. Old school.

Yeah, I have enough spells left to cast to keep me occupied. I made better decisions with this spell list than the last.

Quinns Bane bow is finished? How much gold per occasion did we craft for?

Ant Haul. 14 hour duration! Speaking of witch, La Siréene's Extended Barkskin and Resist Energy have run out, but Extended Longstrider and Extended Ant Haul are still in effect.

The cost to add Shock, not Bane, to Quinn's bow came out to be 2700 gp perfromed by Caromarc.

The Cloak of resistance +1 was 500 gp and adding Mage Armor to an item was 1000gp both created by La Sireene/Nameless.

Total spent by Quinn was 4200 gp for crafting purposes. 3300 gp left from his initial 7500 share.


Alright people, I'll be gone from this point forward until Sunday evening, when I am back from my grandmother's burial. GMPC La Siréene/Nameless as appropriate. Note that their initative is +5 now, thanks to Improved Initative.

I'm leaning toward the Mole (utility over more damage may be silly, but daylight feels a bit like making a choice based on the last fight rather than the next one) -- anyone have any thoughts?

This whole adventure has been darkness. The whole world, actually even before these nights' events.

I think Daylight is appropriate. You were chasing a necromancer.
