Alton VenRysn |
Alton pulls out his climbing gear and tries to ancor his grappling hook on something sturdy.
Once that is done he climbs up the rope
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
waste of a 20, ah well I made it up fine
Arasmes the Eye |
While they try to mess around climbing, Arasmes asks, "What are we trying to do here? And how much do we care, structurally, about this site?"
BloodWolven |
LOL, I know what you are thinking about Arasmes.
Alton you have climbed up the Southern wall and next to the ceiling what do you wish to do now?
Arasmes the Eye |
burn the little buggers out is what im thinking haha! let the fire roll twice against them, not me! i hate it!
Baris the Monke |
From your dreams of fire, wealth, wishes, and power a halfling in a black robe rolls out of a hidey hole near the symbol of Sarenrae.
He springs up with little effort almost like Azulth. "Hellllo! Burn the little suckers, burn 'em, burn 'em.!"
Arasmes the Eye |
"Oh, I like this one's ideas. It is as if he read my mind."
knowledge: 1d20 ⇒ 1 to see who this new person might be arcana or nature, add 12, all others, add 8
Arasmes sets down his pack and pulls out a small box, opening it up to reveal some strange ingredients and odd dishes and utensils.
craft alchemy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
one week's work: check result * DC (assuming base DC of 10), so 28*20=560.
the goal was 1sp. in 1 week of 8-hr crafting days i could make 560, so 560/7=80 per day, 10 per hour, so 6 minutes per oil.
i will make one oil in 6 minutes, assuming they don't interrupt me.
if i feel their bad ju-ju inside, i will do my work outside.
Arasmes takes out a glob of fat from his pack and places it in a dish, covers it, and melts it down to render the oil from it. He takes the burnt leavings and scrapes them into a small canister for later use.
Baris the Monke |
The halfling follows Arasmes letting him work for the six minutes then asks, "So who are you? Whatcha doing here? What is that?"
A flaming humanoid comes from one of the hallways. It doesn't seem to see you yet. It leaves burning footprints in the sand and stone alike.
The halfling appears to be just that, though you feel like you know him.
Arasmes the Eye |
k planes: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
"I am Arasmes, and I am investigating what took over this place."
Arasmes the Eye |
yeah pretty sure that check didnt tell me anything haha
Baris the Monke |
still a halfling, not an outsider. The fire creature you are pretty sure is an outsider but don't know anything else about it.
"Blasted gremlins, oh and whatever that is... Should we greet it with words or fists?" Baris asks.
The flaming creature walks up to a column and begins to burn it.
Baris the Monke |
"A flaming outsider of some sort. I am not for sure." Baris says sounding a bit unsure.
Arasmes the Eye |
"well, I dont think I speak its language..."
Baris the Monke |
"Well neither do I, so do we kill it before it burns us?" Baris asks looking eager to kill it.
The flame creature decides to head out of the monastery and you hear a scream.
Baris the halfling runs out after it.
Arasmes the Eye |
hmmmm, well... the scream cuts him off and he runs after Baris
Azulth the Slayer |
Having closed his eyes and hummed an old song while the healing magic worked its wonders, Azulth opens his eyes at the scream with a grin. "Hm? No, that wasn't us. At least, I don't think so. Let's go!" Drawing his scimitar again, he dashes outside after the others.
BloodWolven |
Outside the fire creature burns the bushes leading towards the horses.
The halfling runs up to it and hits it. He howls in pain as his hand looks to have burns on it. The fire creature takes a step back looking confused and does not move, looking at the others to see if they will be a threat as well. It's face is rather animated.
Jellissa lets the horses move away from the creature as they move as a pack.
Round 1
Heroes Go! Though your actions don't need to be threatening.
GM Wolf |
The flame creature is adjacent to the halfling 30 feet from the three of you and 30 feet from the horses. The horses are 60 feet from the three of you.
I will update the map later... Don't have access right now.
The creature speaks in a strange tongue as it enjoys the fire around it from the bush. It looks at Alton as it looks like it recognizes what he says.
Arasmes the Eye |
At the opening of parley, Arasmes waits for Alton to learn more of the creature.
Baris the Monke |
The halfling tumbles back to the group, showing his burnt hand to the two not talking. Blowing on it to show them the creature's defenses and hoping to get healed.
Jelissa has moved with the horses even more away from the flame creature.
BloodWolven |
The fire creature enjoys burning the bush but focuses on talking to Alton.
BloodWolven |
The vaguely humanoid fire creature speaks with Alton in a language that sounds like a burning fire. It then turns and heads back into the monastery.
Azulth, it looks like Alton's rope and the ladder are the best options to get to the rafters.
No google docs right now, I will update the map when I get home.
Arasmes the Eye |
"I am really just tired of dealing with those little s+*$s. Let's help this fire creature, maybe there is something to this forge." Arasmes says, collecting up his any-tool but leaving the rope in place.
BloodWolven |
Azulth you get to the top to find the gremlins are like vermin there is at least a dozen of them they attack you. Only one of the attacks hit as an arrow sticks in your arm for 3 damage.
Azulth you are in the Chapel Upper Works top left corner, please move your token there.
How many can you kill in one round?
As the other three follow the flaming creature down into a hallway it turns to the left and enters a strange room.
Beyond a doorless arch appears to be a large kitchen complete with walls lined in shelves and cupboards, a huge central table, and an enormous oven against the north wall. Several drawers and cupboard doors stand askew, and the floor here is a jagged field of broken glass, smashed pottery, bits of sharp stone, jagged bones, and discarded cutlery. A few fiery paintings glow on the walls and several items within the room seem to be a lit with fire that does not consume the object. A large anvil resides in the center of the room.
There are three pugwampis in this room, making havoc of the place and doing their best to cook tasty treats for their brethren. They scurry farther into the room and take cover behind the shelves.
The littered floor here counts as difficult terrain, and each round a PC
stands upon it he must make a DC 15 Reflex save or take 1d6 points of damage from some uncomfortable jagged bit biting through a boot or scratching an ankle. Remember to roll twice for every d20 and take the less of the two.
BloodWolven |
Across the way is another room that looks just as ransacked.
Three long wooden tables and dozens of chairs that once lined this mess hall are in shambles, mostly rotted away with the passage of years. Light might shine through several large holes in the ceiling if it were day. There is a closed door on the east wall.
Arasmes the Eye |
"Can we not just burn this entire place? I am tired of fighting these little bastards, all they do is cause misfortune"
Baris the Monke |
"Sure, I have no reason to keep it standing, do you?" Baris states and asks as he peeks into the room.
The gremlins begin peppering the group with arrows from the cupboards. Though with each of you next to the walls they have no luck until you enter the room.
Remember to roll twice.

"I've got an idea" says Arasmes. He finds a place to hide before he tries his best to mimic the sound of a baboon in distress.
Hopefully those baboons will come in here and fight the pugwampis who are destroying their home.

Baris at hearing this hides around the corner, outside of the effect of the pugwampis.

Alton what do you do?
Arasmes the Eye |
hah, if i had known i could get out of there area, i would have! i'm hoping the monkeys do the fighting for me because i REALLY despise this rolling twice nonsense and also maybe i wont have to burn the place down
Azulth the Slayer |
Can probably only take out one a round unless I manage to bull rush them off. Stealth for a moment for right now.
Azulth dodges a few arrows and grunts as one pierces his arm. He quickly draws his scimitar while muttering a few words and wagging his fingers. Suddenly, the space where he occupied appears empty to the enemy, and Azulth steps aside, treading softly.
So, move action to draw scimitar, standard action to cast vanish, free action to five-foot step, Stealthing.
Stealth: 1d20 + 17 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 17 + 20 = 56
Stealth: 1d20 + 17 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 17 + 20 = 50
Good luck finding me, pugwampis.
EDIT: Don't know if I need to cast defensively. I assume all the pugwampis are wielding bows and arrows, but if the one next to me has a melee weapon...

Get used to it Arasmes the unlucky auras stick with a majority of what I have read so far. Crazy little buggers. Moving away is always an option, if they follow you, that could be a problem. Still waiting on Alton. Wow nice rolls Azulth!
The three gremlins still shoot as Baris backs off and Arasmes hides in the corner making an attempt at baboon sounds, which is pretty good actually.
The little buggers are so confused and stop attacking thinking the threat is gone. They cheer and half of them start to scurry across the rafter.
BloodWolven |
Alton stands back in the other room as well, bringing the fiery creature with him. The baboons come out in force over a dozen of them. The first ones enter the kitchen and squawk at the gremlins. Then the horde of baboons charge out attacking those they see, being Alton. They stay away from the fire creature but it likes to burn them. Baris is seen by a few, though those get taken out quickly.
Baris the Monke |
Baris quickly yells to be heard by Alton, "Just smite and burn them all!"
Arasmes the Eye |
Arasmes remains still, his plan coming to fruition.
Now to just hope they dont see me, and all will be well. I wonder if the baboons will eat them or just beat them to death...
Azulth the Slayer |
Azulth grins as the gremlins go about their business, thinking he isn't there. He whispers under his breath and casts another spell on himself, this time a defensive illusion to make him harder to hit, before stepping again, preparing finally to fight.
Casting blur now, and whether I need another Stealth check or anything is your call. I have a feeling I can't fail, though, considering the lowest I can roll is a 38.
