"There are simple enough disguises we can affect, and strategies for traveling to avoid most prying eyes. I'm a fair hand in the wilds as long as we've got someone along to help me learn about local dangers and give us a heading. Might add some time to the trip."


Sorry took so long to post, my computer decided to crash everytime it entered a fill in box on the internet. For posting on forums that is somewhat an issue. I will post each day over the weekend for some catch up.

Daeron having realised that he hasn't introduced himself to some of the newcomers says "Forgive me, my name is Daeron. I have explained to some of your friends an issue that I would like you to help me with. There is something called a 'human' that my house has got a hold of that they are using to track down the Zilatan stone."

original spiel for the quest:

The Eldred smiles. "The name is Daeron. I was part of excursion group to find out why large creatures were attacking our city. I wasn't the first of these to go however. The first group that went ahead of me had no contact back at all to the rest of the house. A lot of my friends were part of that group. Now I, as a concerned citizen decided to ask my superiors about this before we left. However they didn't seem to care about the group nor did they seemed that concerned about the monster problem at all. This was suspicious to me so I decided to stay just a little longer while the rest of my group pushed on ahead. I stayed in the city for another day spying on my superiors. I overheard them talking about the end of days. Now that bit seemed a little stupid but next they talked about using the 'rift' as a distraction while they send others to find the Zilatan stone."

Daeron leans in again. "So first before I continue, my superiors are fine just sending people away to their deaths to satiate their own greed of an artifact. An artifact that may not even exist." He sighs. "However they said they had a way to track this, something called a human, they said this young human had a way to seek out the stone because of something innate in her blood. So they were going to use her to power some sort of scrying. They will likely just give it to soldiers and not tell them what they're looking for and send them on their way!"

Daeron moves his arm so one of his fists is planted on the table. "I want to get that human, even if just to spite my superiors."

Daeron then replies saying "So disguises, that sounds like a good start."

I don't want to make up a plan for you guys, (as much as Daeron probably has a plan or two) so I kind of want you to think on what you would like to do when you arrive. If you prefer we can start heading to the house then you can think on a plan when you get a lay of the land?

Nethan bows from the neck, "Well met, I am Nethan and I am guessing you already know everyone else."[b] ... Then Nethan rolls his eyes up to the right to ponder what the Zilatan Stone is, [b]"Now what is the Zilatan Stone."

Does anything come to mind in Nethan's past readings besides what is in the original spiel of being a false artifact?

Nethan looks to Amelia and speaks normally so most can hear him, "So Amelia, this stone that may not exist outweighs our initial thoughts of ending the life energy drain from the Eldred at the ponds or lakes? I mean if we know this Zilatan Stone may be causing it that is one thing but if it is not, then we are letting Eldred die indiscriminately to power Tar Baphon's or someone else's schemes?!" Then Nethan looks to Daeron, "Daeron, do you remember if this scrying is to look for Eldred or not?"

Nethan pauses for his brain to retrieve information regarding the Zilatan Stone and party members to respond.


Zilatan stone isn't ringing too many bells, though it sounds really familiar. Almost like the Zilatan stone is another name for something Nethan might know.

Daeron says "Do you mean the scrying used with the human? That is just to find the stone. Which lakes are you talking about though?"

Daeron pulls Nethan from his thoughts regarding the Zilatan Stone and meets Daeron's gaze, "Yes, indeed, the scrying used with the human. As for the the lakes, the lakes that are draining the life essence from the Eldred that we suspect may be powering Tar-baphon or an unknown entity's evil scheme. Lastly, do you know if this Zilatan Stone has another name?"


Daeron seems a little wary about the lake thing but answers your question. "It's sometimes known as the great bloodstone. If that helps with anything?"

"The great Bloodstone huh?" Elise leans back and takes a long sip of her ale. There was something calling from the back of her mind, just out of reach. Typical! "I could have sworn old man Stefan used to talk about something like that... Something about Aroden and his herald I belive. Hmph. Maybe another round will help. Barkeep!" She gets up for another round and returns, grumbling and mulling over her thoughts.

Speculation, possible spoilers I guess:
The Bloodstones are four jars containing the still living organs of Arazni, Arodens herald turned lich of Geb. It is rumoured that they contain some of the gods essence and might be used to restore him. Which would make the Greater Bloodstone a pretty interesting object.

And considering the theme of this campaign ... : )

Also, Elise favours a direct approach - she wouldn't really be good for plans until she has a good idea of the layout of the place!


Well Elise has the long and short of it in her spoiler, anyone can make a roll of DC 18 on Religion or History and read her spoiler for that info.

Screw it. Spend last mythic point to cast Share Memory on Elise. Give Elise one of his memories germane to the subject so she can explain it.

He gently lays a hand on Elises' as if passing her something small, and lets the memory flow to her.


Well a bit of time skip to the base, basically since I don't see much discussion on a plan I assume it'll happen when I give the layout of the target town. Though I was going to ask next if people wanted to do anything while resting etc. :)

Nethan ponders what the Bloodstone or Zilatan Stone is but still can not quite remember what it is.

Nethan looks around and sees that people care more about this Bloodstone than the Eldred, "Again, what is the significance of this Bloodstone? Why is it more important than the life draining from the Eldred. Is it the source of the life draining or something even more diabolically deadly?"

Amelia can't help but notice the growing excitement in her companions. Though she herself is weary. "It sounds like you guys have hit on something important. Well, whatever we decide, I think we could use some rest before we venture out on the road again."

I did read up on the mana wastes back when gunslingers made an entrance, and sort of moved over to the Geb/Nex conflict and one thing led to another :)

Elise puts down her mug and lets Alþórel work his magic. With a laugh she states. "This better be stronger then ale, old man!" She grins expectantly as the spell takes hold - suddenly her eyes turn distant and erratic, focused on another time, another place.

She was in a small chamber, sitting around a table. A war-room a voice inside her stated. Every seat around it was taken, occupied by warriors in unfamiliar regalia. Knights of Ozem. Her own visage was that of an old man, dressed in sagely robes. 'She' looked around the table. The mood was heavy of sorrow. One of the men rose from his seat and spoke. He was an impressive man, with spots of gray in his black hair. "It is true. They took Arazni..."

The scene shifted, time rushed forward. She found herself in the same room yet again. The faces around her had aged - the oldest ones replaced with new young ones. The only one whom remained the same was 'herself'. But this time the mood in the room was hopeful, almost celebratory. Once again the man rose, this time clearly weighted by age. His face was wrinkled and ravaged by time, his hair almost snow white. But she knew it was the same man. "It is true. We brought back a piece of her! Our beloved Arazni. We brought back the Bloodstones!" Cheering erupted around the table and Elise was flung back into her own body and her own time.

Elise blinked. She drained her refilled mug in one long sweep and stared thoughtfully at Alþórel for a long time. Where did he get that?! Visions of the past or legends passed down trough generations ... But it felt like I, no, *he*, was there! Gesturing to the barkeep for a third round she began to speak. "The Bloodstones are vessels containing the remnants of Arazni, the parts that were uncorrupted. By extension, they contain some fragments of Aroden himself. Now, a Greater Bloodstone ... That is nothing I've heard of. But given the Whispering Tyrants relationship with Aroden, I can take a guess. And say for certain whatever it is, it shouldn't be in the hand of politicians throwing it around in a power-play!"

Elise could probably use some rest too. Spend tomorrow acquiring disguises & dealing with 'our' Eldred and then set off for the city?

Elise leans closer and whispers. "What can be done with it? What can you do with a shard of the divine? I don't know - and that scares me! Some say the lesser bloodstones can undo Arazno - some say they could restore Aroden himself. Great power non the less. And I doubt those whom search for it now intend to pick either of those options ..."

"AND PERHAPS TO SET ARODEN FREE, THE LAKES NEED TO BE CLEARED OF THE ELDRED LIFE ESSENCE DRAINING QUALITIES? THE LIFE DRAINING HAS TO BE POWERING SOMETHING."

Nethan stands up straight holding his ground and looks side to side.

Nethan lift his eyebrow, "If that is the case, it sure did not feel like it. Anyway, it is old news now." Nethan relaxes with a softer facial expression ... "Very well, let's go get this Bloodstone and free Aroden if it is indeed a greater Bloodstone. However if we have a problem releasing Aroden, the Eldred believe the lakes may be holding Aroden at bay which would mean, as you probably can deduce yourselves, the Bloodstone and the Lakes are connected to each other."

Flynt lights yet another cigar from his seemingly endless supply and the discussion rages. Fishing his cleaning kit out of his pack, he patiently breaks his revolver down into separate parts and sets about cleaning and oiling them. It had an air of ritual about it, almost as much as watching a holy man's morning prayers.

"Whatever has happened in this world didn't happen in a day, and it won't be undone in a day. " Amelia puts a hand on Nethan's shoulder to try and calm and reassure him. "Let's enjoy the fine hospitality of this tavern, and strike out tomorrow when we're rested and recovered."


So we still going to after the human? Or there some more discussion? Daeron isn't going to interrupt where you want to go after all he is hiring you. And he doesn't have much to bargain with.

Daeron nods, "Aye, resting and preparation is key to success. I shall see you in the morning then."

Write down what you'd like to do in ic or ooc before leaving the outpost, I presume from previous conversations you are leaving the other Eldred here and the dwarf while you do this mission. If you think of something when we continue posting feel free to mention it to do a bit of retconning.

The first day of the journey goes without many problems. However the group feel a little bewildered by the alien plane. There are many animals that are similar to that of Golarian but just that bit different that you don't recognise it. Sizes of creatures are different too, Daeron guides the party into avoiding most of them. He takes the group along a well trodden path until the end of the day, he then takes them off into the a forest. The leaves do not change colour like that of the forest. However the leaves are luminescent, glowing even at night though they are dull enough that night still feels as such.

Though just as the group are preparing for their first night on the road, they see two tiny faerie like creatures emerge from some nearby undergrowth. They have long pointed ears that are about as tall as their heads. A large wingspan that they aren't using to fly, they appear to be levitating from magic. Their skin is a pale hue of blue, their clothing a brighter blue. They approach the party, one of which is showing great interest in Calathar. They aren't that close just a little cautious. The one near Calathar asks him. "You, you look so far from home! Why you so far?!" It asks in a very high pitch voice.

When the party asks Daeron about them he has no clue what they're talking about as he claims to not see the faeries.

Rest and recover spells! And mythic points... Had thought that between Nethan and I we could cast Mount for the whole party. It would need to make us significantly faster though, in order to justify the additional cost.

Yes, perhaps with a little hint to the dwarf to try and find some private shelter. We might be bringing a guest, after all! And we should probably all get travellers robes or cloaks in whatever fashion is common on this world. While it might not hold up on close inspection, it should help us not stand out like sore thumbs everywhere. And if there is a map for sale, Elise will pounce on the opportunity!

Elise enjoys travelling trough the foreign landscape, even if she is a little disappointed when Daeron skilfully avoids all the fauna. Well, there is a point to conserve ones strength. I'm sure I'll get to test my mettle soon enought... "Dareon, what manner of beasts is there to worry about? What is the worst we might encounter in the wild?" she asks as they take a midday break. Her tone is curious, and she stares off into the distance. The party might have picked up enough about the woman to know that she is probably imagining herself slaying such a beast. Should the opportunity present itself, of course.

Hmph. Invisible faeries eh? I've heard of such tricks. Or perhaps, this is an entirely different sort of mischief. Elise sighs. Faë! Deciding to do the best of the situation she rolls her eyes and laughs before responding with a teasing look at Cal "He is not very good with maps, my dear friend!"

Alþórel tries to think of whether he has noted this hue of blue in the armours and robes worn by the Eldred.
basically: are the Eldred just unable to perceive blue, or might there be something more complex going on.

That night, Nethan will pray to his father and rest to recover Mythic Points and Power Points. Before leaving, he will freshen up for the road ahead. If there is time during the evening and morning activities, Nethan will get with Al and share spells if he wants to.

Nethan raises his left eyebrow at the blue fairies and this looks left to search his brain.

Knowledge-Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Knowledge-Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Knowledge-Planes: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Some plain uncoloured or earthy robes + a map sounds fine, rest and recover spells and so on. Dreyyn has time to upgrade his weapon.

Daeron says "The worst we could perhaps encounter is the unseelie, if they are indeed real. As for the things I know about, most likely phoenix peacocks. Oddly territorial birds that are constantly on fire. I honestly wouldn't want to be near to one of them, I usually run." Daeron doesn't seem like the cowardly type though it looks like he'd rather avoid a fight if necessary.

The hue of blue on the faeries looks very similar to the blue seen on some of the Eldred, perhaps the magic they wield is similar to that of those who garb themselves in blue.

"We have seen some of your kind before, oh yes long ago!" The faerie replies to Amelia "This one though, seems like he is from a place more good than here. Yes plenty more good than here. So far away from home!" The faerie continually flies around Calathar curiously.

One of the other ones says to Amelia "Ah the blind ones don't see us, not that they'd care to, some do if they pay attention enough. The colours they see often blind them to what's infront of their noses. Hehehe"

As for those stellar knowledge rolls

Nature These faeries look very similar to Dark ice grigs of Golarion. They do appear to be different though, there is a faint magic aura of levitation that surrounds them instead of powering their flight by their own wings.

Planes A brief look at them shows that they are outsiders, even to this plane, however there is magical connection that Nethan can sense between them and something on the plane however. They are rooted him somehow but for what purpose he doesn't quite know.

Arcana They have some basic magical ability that Nethan can tell due to the small amount of luminescence coming from their clothes, it isn't the clothes doing that themselves. It appears they have some light spells to make it appear shinier that it actually is. Beyond that they are bound to have similar properties to Fae from Golarion. As if they were a creation, they would have similar features just like Elves do to Eldred.

Nethan is quiet mainly because he is bored at the moment and wants to know more about these fey-like creatures before asking or answering questions. He remains alert and follows the conversation(s) closely with the fey.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18


"Errrr...2 days?" The faerie answers with a chirp to Amelia.

One of the other faeries says "Dalmahoy! They are like us, using their cold hearts to energize their bodies. Since you were indeed wondering!" It giggles.

Nethan looks closely at the Faeries and can see small glimmers of blue streams flowing up and down their bodies though isn't sure what its for. The faeries seem to be mostly curious, they aren't coming with much ill intent. They appear to be playfully prodding an oddity to them.
