oh yeah abundant ammunition
okay, so 6 near silver attack: 6d20 ⇒ (7, 2, 2, 13, 18, 2) = 44this includes the penalty for cramming in.
4 going after kaylor attack: 4d20 ⇒ (1, 20, 4, 14) = 39 modifier of 0 after penalty
2 after elmar attack: 2d20 ⇒ (18, 13) = 31
2 get near Nahoce by can't reach, medium encumbered
12 of them have to roll reflex saving throws to avoid falling in the pit reflex: 12d20 ⇒ (5, 8, 1, 11, 15, 7, 16, 3, 1, 13, 9, 5) = 94 add 4 to each roll, so 3 of them avoid it.
the other 9 take damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
and the ones in the pit take damage from falling objects as their buddies land on top of them. damage: 7d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2) = 12 these objects won't do nearly as much damage as falling itself.
climb checks climb: 4d20 ⇒ (17, 5, 13, 2) = 37 add 9 to each, 1 gets out.
Edit actually there is no way, you have 14 bodies on top of each other, they can't climb out and are being crushed under each others weight and space. Too many bodies in the hole at once and they cannot climb out in time, so they all die, plus any additional channels would kill them before they could climb out.
and out of all the attacks, Kaylor is the only one hit on a possible crit damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 oh and confirm crit hit: 1d20 ⇒ 4
updating please wait.
As the Vampires surround you, while channel enery proves ineffective this round, Avellorans create pit is super effective.
Heroes are up
Edit: Oh and all the alive vampires heal damage as they regen, so they are effectively at down 2 HP.
Kaylor Traice |
You forgot the negative level.
Kaylor turns to Elmar. "Swap spots?"
If he agrees, Kaylor will cast arcane mark and 5ft step to where Elmar is and attack. Elmar would simultaneously-ish 5ft step to take Kaylor's spot, at which point he'd probably shoot arrows.
Elmar Thonsson |
Elmar is happy to retreat. The vampire spawn are far too close for comfort. He'll target #13 and #14, as the crowding reduces their AC (and they're threatening Avelloran)
Arrow 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 (Adamantine)
Damage 1: 1d8 + 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (8) + (4, 2) + 10 = 24
Arrow 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 (Adamantine)
Damage 1: 1d8 + 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (4) + (2, 4) + 10 = 20
Due to the holy water splash effect of the raining arrows, they each take an extra point of damage.

Yikes, that's a negative level for Elmar. "What... is this? Get away from me! Aargh!"
He'll retreat behind Zuberu via 5-foot-step, then fire the same two arrows, this time at #30 and #28.
Arrow 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 (Adamantine)

Elmar Thonsson |
Update: turns out the one that hit me scored a critical hit, so that's two negative levels; that's a -2 penalty on my attack rolls which I forgot to include above.
Also: according to all the discussions I can find online, Vampire Spawn's energy drain doesn't allow for a save (the DC is to keep it from becoming permanent after 24 hours). If you'd like to houserule this differently, that's fine.

it won't be permed, as it will go away after battle ends. Just misread it as fort negats

kaylor fails to concentrate.
adding in elmar and zub after channels, please wait.
when elmar shoots his misses the first one, but his second shoot damage number 30 by striking him in the heart and splashing nearby ones for damage.
zub definitly kills the thing in front of him.
Avelloran still has a turn
Silver Bullet |
Silver will try to hit the snake in front of him this time and he has a temp negative level, so hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (1) = 7
damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 6) + 3 = 14 bludgeoning with his Earthbreaker.
then steps back to allow room for avelloran to use burning hands in case he gets botted again.
Elmar Thonsson |
OH WAIT A SECOND I forgot to mention that all of Elmar's Adamantine raining arrows are coated in either silver or cold iron weapon blanch.
So I guess I've been dealing silver damage this whole time? I forgot to mention it, but I'll make sure I do silver from now on.
DoubleGold |
I treated admantine as silver, because a similiar rule applies to mithril weapons, anyway, avelloran hasn't been on in a while, so I'm gonna go ahead and bot.
Avelloran takes silvers place and cast burning hands damage: 5d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 4, 4) = 17 fire. angling it at the snake, since he can't hit both the vampire and the snake directly in front of him with his 15-foot cone.
starting with the 2 vampires at the end reflex: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (11) = 13

okay, so zub kills the snake with some powerful blows. by the way, velyrianna has silver pinned, not the snake.
Nahoce kills the last spawn and injures velyrianna.
with only velyrianna left, kaylro and elmar attack her instead, taking massive damage.
so can avelloran finish off velyrianna hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (20) = 25 vs touch.

Velyrianna dies releasing Silver, her skin falls off, but in a matter of seconds, she gets back up in pure robot form, though her organs are still pumping her. Aoos from everyone. just like in the original movie, when the terminator dies, it gets back up without skin. She now has full HP but damage reduction of 5 to bludgeoning.

Kaylor also would not have been able to attack twice as that would require moving and spell combat is a full round action.
Also, does "damage reduction of 5 to bludgeoning" mean DR5/bludgeoning, or she only gets DR vs bludgeoning attacks? Wording suggests that latter to me, while convention suggests the former.

construct, also I know you are far away, but I'm sure you would have seen her get back up and try to fire an arrow at her, right?
There's a feat that specifically allows me to do this, but I don't get it until level 7. Otherwise, assume I'm attacking her on my own turn. (I'm firing one 1 arrow/3 seconds over here, which goes up to 1 arrow/1.5 seconds at level 6, and adding in extra AoOs to that without specialized training seems over the top).
Elmar Thonsson |
That said, on his turn, Elmar flings too more arrows at Velyriana. They are bludgeoning arrows if she is weak to bludgeoning; otherwise they are regular arrows.
