I have alawys been interested in an evil campaign. The group I play with at a table has mixed views and I would have to run not play.
I've never really played an evil character (got into a Way of the Wicked game once but that was pretty short-lived) but I think it could be fun if handled with some care.

I have failed twice to get into a way of the wicked game. It is so popular I get lost in the masses. With the right group and maturity level it could be fun. Evil doesn't mean that you eat babies and kill everyone. Just that you have a different motivations. Like an LE Cavalier who defends his town because he still has relationships there. Or that said Cavalier believes this town is his and nobody touches his things.
Derp, I actually am playing in an evil Rappan Athuk game but thus far it's mostly been dungeon crawling so the evilness of the party hasn't really come into play much. Yet, hehe.
*edit* Deseri, that's what I like about the premise for Way of the Wicked - there's a plot and a reason for evil PCs to cooperate and not go murderhobo for S&Gs. I think a lot of people have poor experiences with evil PCs being played in an immature or downright psychotic way, but you're right - even evil folks are likely to have people and things that they care about. But I also understand that lots of folks just want to be the hero and not the bad guy; I'm that way too the majority of the time. Every so often it's fun to RP the exact opposite of myself, though.

You are spot on Deseri - one of my most memorable characters with my veteran RP group was Mordred, a LE wizard, who accidentally incinerated the Paladin - but the group almost actually agreed that the fireball was a good option there and then.

The map should now be changed so that everyone has permission to edit their own positions. I made a "best guess" positioning for everyone, but feel free to alter your positions until I post that combat begins.
So if I understand correctly, Harmose is going to try to shoo the asp with Mage Hand, Aleris is going to ready action to fire at the asp if it turns hostile, and everyone else waits for anything to close to melee range. Do I have that right?

It's color spray with awesome display from Heavens Oracle. Awesome display subtracts my charisma modifier from their hit dice for determining effects. Honestly, I want to just see if this works...
We've already got 8 PCs, 2 familiars, and a horse. All we're missing is the partridge in a pear tree an animal companion and an eidolon to have the full set. That's not even counting followers, henchman, and the Leadership feat... ;)

I'm gonna rule that you get no AoO vs a surprise attack. If I'm wrong, point it out and I'll use it next occasion.

You are right Bret, I was assuming it would be above on the ceiling, and not immediately above the door. If it was, then Combat Reflexes would not kick in anyway :P
