Utility Wild Talent: Slick
Skills: Heal, Intimidate, Perception, UMD
Turel Garaldo |
2nd level HP = 6 (HP now 18 due to CON increase).
Add +1 to STR and CON.
+1 to BAB and all saves.
Add Trap Intuition as class ability.
Add Improved Grapple as bonus feat.
Skills: Acrobatics, Knowledge (History), Knowledge (Religion), Perception, Sense Motive, Stealth.
Kito the Scholar |
Hum....Misfortune is always handy but Ward might suit Kito's personality and temperament better. Not to mention it can come in handy whenever someone (probably Polux most of the time) needs to scout ahead or separate from the group for some reason - especially since it apparently has no limit on its range (other than the likely 'must be on the same plane').
I hadn't considered the trouble-detector aspect of Ward. That can be nice, but requires that the person get hurt.
I think that I'll go for the Misfortune hex.
So, summary time:
HP rolled: +2, total now 11
FCB: +1 Skill rank
Con +2 = 12
Hex: Misfortune.
Patron spell: Animate Rope
Spells added: Enlarge Person, Web Bolt
Skills: +1 Disable Device, Heal, Kn(Arcana, History, Local, Planes), Linguistics, Spellcraft, Use Magic Device.
Language added: Ignan
Think that is about it. Will update profile later today.
@Deseri Thanks for taking Appraise skill, the group needs it.
Harmose Al-Nefer |
Harmose grabs Polux and drags him into the library. "Here are books! Learning! You're smarter than me! Better yourself!"

Kito the Scholar |
Profile updated for 2nd level.
Is the "Thief" brand still in place?
Harmose Al-Nefer |
Harmose summary of changes:
+1 to Wisdom (no more dumped Wisdom, yeah!)
+1 to Int
Add one level of Spirit Guide Heavens Oracle, Tongues Curse.
In combat, I now speak Auran, the language of the sky. Fortunately, both Kito and Aleris speak it too.
Oracle Revelation: Awesome Display. (Aka Super Duper Color Spray.)
I was going to take Knowledge History this level, but I see that Kito and Turel are doing that, so I went for different things. Harmose has been very, very studious.
I put points in:
New spells:
Bless, Cure Light Wounds, Shield of Faith, create water, enhanced diplomacy, purify food and drink (DC 15), stabilize.
(if someone else in the party has Bless, I'll drop it for Sanctuary or some other divine spell.)
Qari Falexia |
While we are still getting things together, I want to change Qari's ability modifiers at this level.
Rather than adding one to Dex and one to Con, I am going to add 2 to my Con to increase my damage by a point on my blast and get a few more HP. I'll fiddle with Dex next level, if I live that long.
Harmose Al-Nefer |
Oh, I still get one bonus language from Int! Any suggestions as to what to put it in?
Aleris Somciel |
Maybe Polyglot or Vudrani? They seem fitting considering the general area of the world we're in. Oh! Or Dwarven; maybe Meehr Zet has been giving him lessons off-screen?
Thanks for picking up Appraise Deseri (and Polux if he opts for it)!
I didn't pick up Bless obviously, since I figured Deseri or Harmose would get way more mileage out of learning it than Aleris would.
*edit* Once we're all leveled up I suppose we should decide if we want to go ahead and head out to Pentheru's place now or do even MOAR downtime...but I suspect I already know the answer ;)
Deseri |
Samy I do not know if I missed it but what is Bentu's job. And would this child be considered a bastard? Does the campaign last longer than 9 to 10 months? I ask because of issues that can arrive like feeding the infant?
Kito the Scholar |
Either a nursemaid could be hired, or it is likely that Sehhosep could feed the child after a short time. There are probably other methods utilizing magic that would work as well.
Warning: Following the link may result in binge-watching the whole series.
Harmose Al-Nefer |
Oh, but what a great series to binge watch!
Glad you appreciated the level up scene, Deseri. I felt that I couldn't hand-waive my oracle level... Lovely response Aleris! I think I will pick up Dwarven as my final language. Hanging around Zet household, it's a likely choice.
Polux |
Level up coming up later today. I am almost 100% certain the 2 points will be dropped in CON - need those HP!
HP right HERE: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Samy |
Samy I do not know if I missed it but what is Bentu's job. And would this child be considered a bastard? Does the campaign last longer than 9 to 10 months? I ask because of issues that can arrive like feeding the infant?
Bentu's job has not been stated, but it would be something upper middle class. Let's say lawyer if you need something concrete. As for bastardry, I suppose from a purely technical standpoint it might be considered one, although fellow children for example probably would not know of the circumstances. I think the campaign will not last longer than 9 months.

BAB +1

Will Save +1
Abilities: +2CON
Level 1 Extract gained: Endure Elements
Class Ability gained:
---Ceaseless Observation (Ex)---
An empiricist's ability to notice the minutiae of almost everything that happens around him allows him to make shrewd and insightful calculations about people and even inanimate objects. At 2nd level, an empiricist uses his Intelligence modifier instead of the skill's typical ability for all Disable Device, Perception, Sense Motive, and Use Magic Device checks. He can also use his Intelligence modifier instead of Charisma on any Diplomacy checks made to gather information.
This ability replaces poison lore and poison resistance.

Will Harmose have to trade in Bluff for us to get a second person with appraise? If we fail those checks, we can't ever retry them and the whole group loses money.
Polux |
Appraise is not even a trained skill for Polux - a rank would add but a +1 :P
Harmose Al-Nefer |
Look again, my friend. You're an investigator. It's a class skill, and you're the second brightest person in the party. :-D
1 rank + 3 class + 4 int = +8 to appraise. Add in one of your inspiration uses and we're golden on a take ten.
Please, Polux? Pretty please?
I'll do another dance for you. ::Waggles eyebrows.::

EDITED to ADD: Aside to Qari and Ra-Khefer. We're almost done with the level-up scene, and then it's off to the House of Pentheru! I promise!
Deseri |
Are there any wands everyone wants to go in on. All Deseri wanted to purchase was the crossbow and bolts. Detect undead might be helpful
Polux |
Deal Harmose. I was lookingat the wrong character in Herolab :P
I'll probably drop Knowledge (Dungeoneering), and grab Appraise.
Aleris Somciel |
Based on this from Gameplay:
"Would it make sense to gather before dawn to watch Pentheru's estate, see if any undead flee the rising sun?"
It sounds like we're all planning to get up before dawn and go stake the place out. I'm just not sure if they were planning to do it from the roof of Menya the Whip's store or if the plan was to actually go inside the Necropolis itself and observe the place from there. Based on the subsequent talk of evading patrols, it sounds like the answer might be the latter?
Turel Garaldo |
Turel would recommend staking the place out from Menya's roof. He is Lawful Good after all....
Deseri |
I am good either way. Though I would like to avoid the dying :)
Kito the Scholar |
I wanted to watch from outside the Necropolis. The idea was find out about undead without having to fight them.
Use the information to decide what area to explore in the Estate.
Deseri |
At Deseris friends home? I am curious and don't want to have to five the post again later
Turel Garaldo |
Nice! OK due to Turel's new Trap Intuition ability, I recommend the following marching order once we move inside. We should have enough room to travel side by side:
Turel = Polux
Harmose = Ra-Khefer
Kito = Aleris
Qari = Deseri
EDIT: For Samy's benefit, here are the details of the Trap Intuition ability:
At 2nd level, whenever a terra-cotta monk comes within 10 feet of a trap, he receives an immediate Perception check to notice the trap. The GM should make this check in secret. A terra-cotta monk gains a +2 bonus on Perception checks to notice traps. This bonus increases to +4 if the trap is located in a stone wall or floor.
Deseri |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Thank you for the quick reply Samy. You really want to make the group deal with a pregnant Oracle. I am actually really looking forward to it. I have never played the staying in the back type so that should be interesting. The crazy emotions and cravings should be fun. Also that second semester bump to the libido ;) I a fiddling with her build a bit so she will be a buffer and a few boom spells.
Also I forgot to ask during the first day we were back in the cit ybut I assume I could fine a heavy crossbow right? I did say I was looking for one.
Qari Falexia |
Order looks great to me!
Harmose Al-Nefer |
The order is fine.
Kito the Scholar |
Turel's new Trap Intuition ability
You may want to list that just after Perception in your profile header. That way Samy will see it when looking for your perception to determine if a trap is detected.
Deseri |
Harmose, or Hamy as my brain wants to call you, why the mix of those two classes? Not a blend I have seen before.
Harmose Al-Nefer |
It's part of Harmose's spiritual journey.
Honestly, I started thinking about Harmose's religious searching. He's absolutely devoted to his god, and to doing right... and he's an impish mischievous CG sorcerer with the undead bloodline. I loved all his contrasts, and wanted to bring him closer to Horus.
But if I took any other divine class or the evangelist prestige class, I'd have to bring Harmose's alignment closer to Horus who is LN. Ugh, no. Fortunately, oracles are weird creatures that aren't deity-dependent. Also, I admit I'm really looking forward to super-duper colorspray vs. undead. Take that, creatures of darkness! I will fight you off with rainbows and sunshine and unicorns!
Alright, maybe the last only if I pick up silent image and continue boosting bluff...
Deseri |
I figured it was a flavor thing. I like it I was just asking because it is a weird mix. And I completely approve of death in a rainbow. I wish there was a higher level version. Sadly the mythic version is not even that impressive.
