While holding down the 'alt' key, type 0248 on the number pad at the right of the keyboard. I have Norwegian relatives and tried to learn the language a few years ago. I know how to get all the fancy letters if you're ever interested.
Going to try to figure out gear, ABP, and skills now...

I still have to finish her gear (possibly change some of it depending on the answers to my next questions):
I don't think mage armor stacks with regular armor but I'm asking to make sure. If mage armor doesn't stack then she'll choose a different 1st level spell to replace it.
Will Barkskin stack with the eidolon's natural armor? It says that it is an enhancement bonus so I'm hoping it stacks but if not, she'll choose a different 2nd level spell.
Do the effects of potions affect both summoner and eidolon or only spells cast by the summoner?
Can she get a magical item for her eidolon to wear to enhance their AC?
I think there were probably more questions but my brain is mush...

Mage armor does stack.
Barkskin does stack.
Potion- do you mean if you give Kell a potion will it work? It will. Do you mean if Bryndis drinks a potion will it effect both her and Kell? No.
And yes, Kell can wear magical items but only for slots he has. (When Kell is summoned and dismissed, he will keep his gear. Officially this isn't in the rules so I'll make it clear).
Rules-"In addition, magic items interfere with the summoner's connection to his eidolon. As a result, the summoner and his eidolon share magic item slots. For example, if the summoner is wearing a ring, his eidolon can wear no more than one ring. In case of a conflict, the items worn by the summoner remain active, and those used by the eidolon become dormant. The eidolon must possess the appropriate appendages to utilize a magic item."
Got it?

I think she has enough for another wand. She could get a mage armor wand and then choose a different 1st level spell. Magic Fang would also be ok for either Kell or Pa-Soa, right? How many charges are there per wand?
Part of me was hoping that if Bryndis took a healing potion that she could give some of the healing to Kell but apparently that won't work.
Considering she's not front line, I'll save magical item slots for Kell. But I don't think she has enough funds to buy more protection for him unless I make some gear changes.

Ok, I think Bryndis is done. I'm sure I've made mistakes in the crunch and in my decisions but this is the first summoner I've played.
I'm thinking this will be pretty interesting. Bryndis and Pa-Soa should complement each other quite nicely as well as clash at times :)

Magic Fang would work for both (never thought about that either but a monk/summoner combo looks better and better).
A wand starts with 50 charges.
Are you happy with your equipment?

"Are you happy with your equipment?"
I was until you asked. Now the paranoid part of my personality is thinking I should rethink my choices. You may have asked if I was happy with it but what I read was... "Are you sure you're happy with your equipment? Really?!? Maybe you should rethink all your choices."

I only asked because you posted that while you still had some unanswered questions. As far as my opinion, you got rope and that was good enough for Sam Gamgee.

Bryndis' reason for hunting monsters is Kell. When they left her home and everything she knew, she didn't really have any profession to work at because she was never good at the family business which was logging.
Kell would convince Bryndis that they needed to help people by fighting monsters/vanquishing evil. She discovered that they were good at it and people started offering to pay them for their services.
Since Pa-Soa already mentioned him attacking Kell the first time we all met, it's possible that Pa-Soa mistook Kell as a monster himself and tried to fight him which Bryndis promptly put a stop to (maybe he even thought he was 'rescuing' Bryndis from a dragon...). Then he teams up with them.

I have Friday's off for the next little while so I may inundate you with posts so I apologize in advance :)
Far point about the equipment. I considered giving up the Haversack for a magical item for Kell but decided against it. She's not strong and the Haversack will help her carry her stuff. Plus she's from a fairly small town so I can't imagine she's had a lot of exposure to the awesome magical items that exist in the world. She's still enamored by the Haversack which was gifted to her by Gudrun.
Long story short, I think she's good with the equipment she has. I made small changes to her spell list based on some of the answers you gave regarding stacking of AC bonuses with some of those spells. Eventually, if she gets to learn another 1st level spell, she'll add Mage Armor back but the wand should be good for now.
Pa-Soa Sieng |
Well Pa-Soa has been wandering for a while and judges that he's far enough away from Quain that he can stop. He's kind of destitute though other than his amulet and belt which he does not want to get rid of so he's looking for work that pays better than manual labour in an inn.
Maybe Bryndis came into the inn that Pa-Soa is staying at with Kell and Pa-Soa made the obvious (and wrong) assumption about what Kell was and that's how the two (three) met? I guess the fight might have gotten the attention of someone who offers them their first monster hunting job since they seem like they might be able to handle it.
Pa-Soa would be pretty embarrassed about the misunderstanding after the fact.

Good to go :)
No serious ideas about what to call the campaign. The only thing that immediately came to mind was Monsters 'R Us...
GM Mowque |
When does Bryndis call on Kell to usually come out? I thought some summoners keep their eidolons around all the time? Don't know summoner mechanics too well though.
Mechanically they can but wandering into a Linnorm tavern with a dragon-y ediolon might do more then raise a few eyebrows?
Bryndis Dahlstrøm |
Not sure where Pa-Soa is living but it could be that he either comes across Bryndis and Kell who're camping OR Bryndis rents a room at the tavern, has Kell summoned within her room and somehow Pa-Soa sees him there (maybe passing by an exterior window?) and the fight may spill out into the tavern...
Or someone in the tavern gets a little handsy with Bryndis, she gets scared, and summons Kell.
Pa-Soa Sieng |
Maybe if we're at a point where we're just talking with someone or asking questions you can just respond to one of us and we can take it as that person has taken more of a lead at that point in the coversation. If a decision has to be made then we can slow down to wait for both of our inputs.
Bryndis Dahlstrøm |
What are the secret concerns of the GM? Is it something that we can fix on our end?
I'm good with you not necessarily waiting for us both to respond unless it's dire to the plot line or combat.
Bryndis Dahlstrøm |
Sounds good to me.
@Pa-Soa - if Bryndis is talking too much, please let me know. It's not my intent to overshadow anything. I love collaborating with others, I'm easy going, and not easily offended so please let me know if I do anything you're not comfortable with.
Bryndis Dahlstrøm |
I will also be away starting Friday for about a week. I should be able to post on my phone but that means shorter posts. I still can't believe that my brother doesn't have internet...weirdo. Who still goes outside? ;)
GM Mowque |
Ok folks, I had a long think about this last night, and although it pains me to say it...
I think we have to hit 'pause' on this game. I simply don't have the time or energy right now to run all my games. You solo games are not in danger, but this one...I just can't swing it right now.
I may come back to it in a few months, we may not. I apologize for it, but that is the way it goes sometimes.
Hopefully no hard feelings.
Bryndis Dahlstrøm |
No worries. You know where to find me :)
If it's no longer fun or if it becomes stressful, it's not worth it.
