"My name's Kersh Reftun," replies. "I'm a gem merchant. They wanted to know when and where my next shipment would be coming in.

"I think they wanted to steal it!" he seems outraged by the idea.

"I guess I am lucky you arrived," he tells Silvio. "I don't think I'd have lasted long on that thing." He shudders as he looks at the rack and the hot irons, and then kicks one of the bodies again.

In the cells:
The rat hasn't gone far, but it seems surprised, rearing up on its hind legs, as Zstelian greets it. " ... Hello?"

"We can jiggle 'em about at a bit if you want to get a couple of hits in", offers Sekathral. "Happy to help"

To the merchant: "Can you make it out of here on your own, mate, or do you need an escort? If so, you might have to hang around and make yourself useful. You'll be safe so long as you stick with the priest"

He pauses to think.

"Long shot, but I don't suppose you've heard anything about a gutspray called Vanthus while you've been down here?"

"I could use an escort," Kersh says. "I was blindfolded when they brought me in, so I have no idea how to get out. I suppose I can be useful if you have something I could use as a weapon. I've had to help the guards on a trip or two and I think I held my own."

He scratches his head at the name Vanthus. "I think I've heard them mention him, sounded like he was one of their leaders -- 'Vanthus wants this information,' 'tell us or Vanthus will deal with you' -- but nothing more than that. Sorry. Why are you looking for him."

Meanwhile, back in Cellblock AA-23:
The rat shivers a little. "There is mean, big bad dog that way who leaves very little on bones," he points his nose back toward the room you just came through, with the bones. "Far away," he points in the direction everyone else has gone, "is big pool, with big toothy lizard. He makes big mess sometimes, and can be good scraps, but is very dangerous."

Dargon: 6

With Sekathral's shot blocked by the burly dwarf, Khazmia and Kyson rush after Kersh, who opens yet another secret door into a round room, which he rushes across. A ladder in the middle of the room leads to a trap door in the ceiling.

Dargon rushes across the room and tackles Kersh, who tries to throw a fist at the dwarf, but misses. I'll kill you, you runty little dwarf," he snarls, before yelling out, "HELP! INTRUDERS!"

Zstelian and Kyson keep watch from behind, along with Silvio.

Sekathral moves in and tries to slug the grappled Kersh, but can't seem to find an opening as the Locust Dragon struggles with the dwarf, despite Khazmia's help.

Yelling for help again, Kersh tries to struggle free from the dwarf, but can't break Dargon's grasp. However, as Dargon begins trying to apply pressure, he loses his grip, leaving him facing off against the man. Kersh failed Escape Artist check, but then Dargon failed his check to maintain the grapple; I suck at grapples, so please let me know if I messed that up.
