Round 3, Init 29

"Freakin' monkeys!! Has anyone seen Silvio!?"

Kyson delays, hoping that the attacks from Seka, Zstelian, and whatever Khaz is going to do will take out the Mob so that Kyson can go save Silvio.

Blessing of Fervor (3/8):

With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).

  • Increase its speed by 30 feet.

  • Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.

  • Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.

  • Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.

  • Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.

Round 2:

Sekathral: 6
Khazmia: 5
Kyson: 29
Zstelian: 22
Silvio: 12
Antagonist: 7

The boom of Sekathral's thunderstone is barely audible over the howling of the monkeys, and if it disturbs them at all, it's hard to tell.

Seeing Silvio collapse under the weight of the fiendish baboons, Zstelian lays about him with his blade with magical speed, felling apes left and right, but there's more than he can handle on his own and then continue to rampage forward.

Kyson waits as Khazmia grits her teeth and hopping back and forth for a moment and then offers a hasty cry as she begins to cast: "Sorry, Zstelian!" She finishes and a bolt of lightning streaks from her fingers, through the ranger and into the mess of monkeys, many of them falling to the ground and convulsing from the pain. 22 hp; DC 17 Reflex for half; I wouldn't normally have her do this, but she can see Silvio's in trouble and has few options with the way the door's being held. Also, wow. The monkeys could only fail their save with a 1 and that's what they rolled...

Monkey Reflex: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20

Kyson, do you want to act before the monkeys? Many are dead, but there are probably still enough to rip Silvio apart.

Seka and Zstelian's final push seems to be enough, their blades and bullets laying low a couple more monkeys and sending the last few running for the far corner of the room, where on their own they seem to pose little threat.

Beneath the monkey bodies, you find the beaten body of Silvio Callgari Pazzi lying on the ground, sword still clutched in his outstretched hand.

Despite your best attempts, there seems to be nothing you can do for Silvio. He's passed beyond this plane and Pharasma awaits him.

The large room has six columns running down the length of the chamber, flanking a pit covered by a rusted iron grate. On the far side of the room is a stone throne and the room itself is chokingly foul-smelling.

Looking in the pit, you see the bottom is covered with a mess of bones, scraps of flesh, dried blood, tattered rags and other things best left unmentioned.

As you examine the rest of the room, both Sekathral and Zstelian notice scuff marks on the floor in front of the throne, indicating it's been pushed forward in the past away from the wall.

Sekathral and Kyson's combined efforts are enough to silence the statues, and you move through the room to the far side.

The doors open into a huge chamber watched over by five hideous statues. To the east and west stand four towering demonic ape statues in alcoves, facing a roaring fire pit in the room's center. On the opposite side of the room is an even larger stone statue. Possessing the stout, stylized body of an ape, this statue has two stone tentacles where each of its arms should be. Sprouting from its shoulders are two fanged baboon heads. The statue lords over the room atop a great dais, staring out in frozen rage. Picture coming tomorrow, I hope

Knowledge (planes) DC 20:

The statue is a stylized image of the Prince of Demons, Demogorgon!

The domed ceiling starts about 40 feet high at the walls, and rises 50 feet high at its peal, directly above the fire. Urol dangles 40 feet above the floor of the room, suspended by chains that connect to a winch between the two demon statues on the east wall of the room. The winch is about 10 feet above the floor.

Seeing you, Urol whimpers and cries out for help.
