Male Varisian Ranger/Cleric 10 - 92/92 hp + 0 nonlethal, Init +3, AC 25 [touch 14, FF 20], Fort +13, Ref +10, Will +8; Perception +19*

Standard mid-combat makes it not so useful for fighting.

I guess it's just meant to be a utility item?

New lvl! \o/

Changes:

One more fighter level
8 more hit points (6 from class, 2 from con)

Skills (favorite class bonus goes into 1 skill point):
+1 Knowledge (local) <-- Silvio always keeps his ear to the ground and picks up this and that
+1 Profession (sailor) <-- Silvio is a great sea captain after all. He must have learned something fetching the Sea Wyrven
+1 Intimidate <-- Silvio's martial prowess is intimidating to behold!
+1 Bluff <-- Overexaggeration is Silvio's MO
+1 Diplomacy <-- Silvio can (unknowlingly) be a jerk but who can resist those eyes?

The profile has been updated.

The Bravado's Cloak is great by it's name alone, although Silvio can't use it without loosing all of his fighter abilities :/ All the perks (except for the bonus feats) rely on him being equipped with a melee weapon in one hand and holding nothing in the other.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 , Marathon Voter 2013, Marathon Voter 2014

Oh, crap. Didn't realize that, Silvio. Hold on then, and I'll see if I can't find something else for you. : (

Zstelian, I think it's still useful but you have to decide what's of more value. Taking one round to get returning weapons seems like a decent tradeoff to me, especially since you tend to go through your weapons so quickly.

Male Varisian Ranger/Cleric 10 - 92/92 hp + 0 nonlethal, Init +3, AC 25 [touch 14, FF 20], Fort +13, Ref +10, Will +8; Perception +19*

Zstelian currently carries 15 throwing weapons. It's very hard for him to run out. In the event that Zstelian was using Rapid Shot every round that would still mean he's covered for 7 rounds.

Using a standard in combat to get Returning isn't really practical unless you already have one really good weapon you want to throw every round.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 , Marathon Voter 2013, Marathon Voter 2014

If you'd prefer, I can give you a different item, Zstelian.

Also, re: the arcane strike, if you can remind me at the start of each combat, I'd appreciate it, but you don't need to write it in every round.

Male Varisian Ranger/Cleric 10 - 92/92 hp + 0 nonlethal, Init +3, AC 25 [touch 14, FF 20], Fort +13, Ref +10, Will +8; Perception +19*

It's a cool item and I could see it being really good.

But spending a standard action every combat to essentially add returning to a weapon isn't really worthwhile. I wouldn't bother carrying around a wand of Returning Weapon either for example.

I'll try to mention magically 'powering up' at the start of every encounter.

Zstelian, if you prefer, you can have a sahdow falconer's glove: This elbow-length, heavy leather glove’s fine embroidery is marred by dozens of claw marks. Once per day on command, its wearer can gesture toward a creature within 30 feet. When he does, a featureless silhouette of a bird of prey appears, swoops toward the target, and performs a disarm or steal combat maneuver (wearer’s choice, CMB +16). The shadow falcon is a magical effect, not a creature, and this action does not provoke attacks of opportunity. If the hand wearing the glove is empty, the shadow falcon brings the item to the wearer’s hand. If the gloved hand is occupied, the shadow falcon deposits the item on the ground in an unoccupied space adjacent to the wearer. The shadow falcon then disappears.

Silvio, still need to look for a new item for you. Planning to update the game thread tomorrow.

Since we seem to have a large amount of 'down time' would it be possible for Zstelian to teach Kayle some custom tricks.

I'm thinking one for dealing non-lethal damage and one for disarming a target.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 , Marathon Voter 2013, Marathon Voter 2014

Zstelian, let me double check the rules, but I don't see any reason why not. That said, it won't be all downtime (though it should be enough to teach her the tricks).

Silvio, I haven't forgotten I still owe you a magic item. Anything you're particularly interested in?

Since I know at least one person from this game is interested in entering, note that the new Superstar contest has opened up. Some interesting twists.

Will update the game later tonight, I hope. It's a busy week, so I might be a little more infrequent than usual, though I still hope to post at least once daily.

Silvio, what do you think of this item? It's stolen and fairly transformed from an item someone submitted last year to Superstar. I whipped up this version pretty quickly, so it might not be quite as polished as some of the other items, but hopefully the basic idea gets across. It seemed like an appropriate item for a great sea captain like Silvio, not to mention the type of item I could see him using.

Darkwood Spyglass
Aura faint conjuration; CL 4th
Slot none; Price 20,000 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
This finely constructed spyglass is made of exquisitely carved darkwood and filigreed brass.

While gazing through its crystal lens, the wielder can speak the command word and instantly transport himself anywhere he can see up to 500 feet away, using a dimension door spell, once per day.

Alternatively, once per day, he can force up to one Large creature (with all its possessions) or object within 500 feet to appear closer to him via dimension door. The creature or object gets a Will save (DC 16) to resist being moved.

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, dimension door; Cost 10,000 gp

Excellent! :)

My own knowledge of Pathfinder gear is limited to +X weapons/armors and bag of holding.

Edit: One question though.

What does "Alternatively, once per day, he can force up to one Large creature (with all its possessions) or object within 500 feet to appear closer to him via dimension door." mean?

"Appear closer" seems rather vague for a DnD 3.5/Pathfinder rule :)

Hi there! Of course the game is going. The tale of Silvio Callgari Pazzi is to exciting to be left untold!

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 , Marathon Voter 2013, Marathon Voter 2014

Hmm. That is indeed not very clear at all. : ) It should be in an adjacent spot five feet from the user in the direction the creaure or object was (i.e. if you drew a straight line between you and the object, it would be transported to the closest unoccupied square along that line).

Sorry for the lack of updates. Have a couple people out at work, which means I need to actually work instead of post. Will try to get our rate back up as soon as I can.

Hey all, we seem to be slowing down a bit. I'm willing to attribute some of that to me being a bit distracted by Superstar (which I'm addicted to), but I also feel like I'm not getting quite as much stuff to respond to. Just wanted to check in and get the pulse of the group.

Male Varisian Ranger/Cleric 10 - 92/92 hp + 0 nonlethal, Init +3, AC 25 [touch 14, FF 20], Fort +13, Ref +10, Will +8; Perception +19*

I'm waiting for the plot to advance.

None of the NPCs seem worth getting to know from Zstelian's POV. The one I had high hopes for (the horse) turned out to just be a dumb animal. =(

I know that I've been lagging. Khaz really wanted to get into creating some wondrous items, but now I'm finding it difficult to actually do so, especially since she now feels her first item should be for the blue devil, err, I mean Sekathral.

Part of it is I'm also trying to create something for RPGSS, though I'm not seeing a lot of movement there either.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 , Marathon Voter 2013, Marathon Voter 2014

For Khaz's items at least, maybe wait until Superstar gets going -- you should have lots of good inspiration for items then! : )

Granted, that doesn't help with Verdigris' items.

Male Dwarf Monk 5 [HP 54/54]

I think its a chicken and egg problem. We need more to respond to on both sides of the fence. Dargon tried to provoke conversation by some of his activities but there hasn't been much of a bit yet.

Kyson is trying and, bless his confused, non-sailing soul, and will continue to interact with some of the other crew/passengers.

I'll keep moving on it after we finish eating with Jerkvinia, uhm, I mean, Lavinia.

Which reminds me that I need to use the power of my scroll. Then talk to Khaz about crafting some neat magical jewelry...

You mean I just talked my way out of the ability to teleport an object or large creature anywhere between 1 and 499 feet closer to me? F*ck.

I feel kind of to blame for this. Lately (or actually for quite some time) I've been having less time to post. And when I've had the time other things have taken priority. Its a trend for all my PbP-games, not just this one. Four is to much for me, eventually i'm going to have to drop one or more.

Looks like dinner's wrapping up, so I'll try to move things ahead soon. I need to know in what order you're taking the net chair back to the Sea Wyvern, assuming that's how you're crossing back to your ship.

Also, feel free not to take Lavinia's suggestion on a group name. I certainly don't want to dictate that as a GM; was just giving you her idea.

Finally, I may be a little sporadic in posting this week, as one of my co-workers is off and doing his job always cuts into my free time at work (and home, since I have to go in an hour earlier). (Not to mention my Superstar addiction as I try to see all the magic items.)
