Character creation will be determined thusly:
* 2d6+6 for each attribute; please roll in this thread (I'll let you reroll if I think they're not good enough).
* 1 trait, which must work with your background.
* Feats - Core, APG, Ultimate Magic, Inner Sea World Guide. Other sources must be approved by me. (Sinvel, give me links to any gnome feats you may want; I assume I won't have a problem with them.)
* Hit Points - Max at first, roll for other levels (reroll 1s, 2s count as 3s)
* Starting Gold: 23,500 (please include costs of items on your character sheet, as that helps me a lot in checking)
The adventure will start in the village of Bellis, in the Verduran Forest to the east of Andoran, at the wedding of a retired half-elven ranger named Elyin Ursage and his new bride, Kailah Winmede.
Please let me know why you're there -- you may arrive as guests, couriers delivering gifts from distant relatives, or wedding crashers (or any other idea you might have). We can determine if your characters know each other (or anyone in the village) here too, or if you're all there separately. Whatever you think works best for your characters is fine with me.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
Once we get everything settled, we can get started, hopefully Sunday or early next week.
any problems with my background reason for being in Bellis?
Koremar Auvrealylth'Hel (in Elven - Black Honor / Blood of the Sad Blade)
Hearing the rumors and long awaiting this disturbance the elves sent an agent of their own to investigate the evil stirring deep in the wilderness.
Koremar was a magus. A warrior mixing sword and spell to the utmost effeciency. Once he was Named and once he received his blade Mai'tahl (Death Blade) his destiny was set. Koremar was trained since birth for his role in society (as was the elven way) but for him it was a little more so. It was suspected it was one of his ancestors that had returned to the world to unleash her vengeance. And it was up to him to stop it or at the least gather information to what happened. He found himself in Bellis right before what shouldve been a happy occasion. If only theyd known...
I can change anything necessary. What would be the closest Elven community?
Pretty healthy. Do we have a heavy hitter or is that my role? I also need to know what type of spell selection will be most beneficial. I have limited healing access, but can bring the pain with debuffs and animal buddies if needed.
Yeah, I see Bilbo and Koremar as the frontline fighters. Though rogues can be pretty tough assuming they can get flanking.
Being an oracle of life, I assumed Jessarae would handle most of the healing (though this will be my first time seeing an oracle in action, so I'm curious to see how she'll work), though you'll also have enough money you can buy some potions/wands.
Koremar, I'll give the mod another read to make sure the background doesn't cause any problems, but I think it should be fine.
OK, I got Kreg up. I still plan on adding descriptions of the special abilities and show the cost of items I bought. I think he is going to be a tough little fellow!
Just got internet access back. Checking in here. I'm very very very sorry, but I've been offline since around Thursday. I'll get things up quickly, assuming there's still a place for me.
All that's left is a description, assuming I'm still in. Again, I'm truly sorry about making everyone wait. It should not happen again. I'm going to go ahead and post the hook, though again I understand if you would rather I be replaced. I expect no further troubles on the internet front hereon out, though.
Character Sheet and Background are in this profile.
Jess couldn't remember seeing her old friend Elyin happier. They'd adventured together a few years back, when Jess was still green to her gift. The ranger had shown her many things, and they had became fast friends.
And now a wedding! Jessie had never seen an Elven wedding, but the idea of weddings set her heart aflutter. She felt extremely honored to be invited. Elyin made sure she'd be close enough to see the ceremony despite her milky white, nearly blind eyes. She smiled even more brightly than normal.
Hi Alorha, sure, you can still participate; we all have connection problems once in a while. As I think I mentioned in the other thread, it's been a tough week at work (co-worker on vacation, so my workload's just about doubled), but I'll try to check everyone's characters in the next couple days.
I'm hoping to get the first post up on Friday -- though I'll be offline most of the weekend, I think -- and can really get started on Monday.
Yes, please, the price breakdown saves me lots of time (not that I don't trust you all, but mistakes can happen). The other thing I appreciate is ranks for your skills, which also makes it easier for me to check that. I may ask for a couple other things as I look them over, but nothing major. I love that quick link you provided to the magus -- I may ask my players in my kingmaker campaign to add that.
I actually usually have a lot of downtime at work so do most of my posting from there, especially early in the week, so it's so disruptive when I have to actually concentrate on getting the paper out!
I'll put the finishing touches on later today. Skill ranks and description are all that remain. Let me know if you have any questions on my Oracle revelations.
Should you need a heavy hitter or anything else I would be willing to cook something up. I can post very frequently. If you would like I will roll for stats and should a spot open up I can have a concept up in a hour or so with a fleshed out background /character sheet.
Good to go here. I linked all my spells and abilities to the PRD. I used one Ultimate Magic feat (Quick Channel), and UM doesn't seem to have been entered in the PRD yet, so I linked the PFSRD version.
It looks like I got my internet up and running again. So, I will get you those numbers you need. I should have everything up to snuff over the next day or so.
Koremar:
You have Arrn'ess listed among your weapons. Is that a specific weapon I don't know, or perhaps an earlier name for your sword?
Are you definitely taking great fortitude? You've still got question marks next to it, but it looks like you'd settled on it.
I'm not sure you can afford that spellbook you've got listed there. : )
Also:
Your sword can speak Elven and Sylvan.
Bilbo, looks like you're still working on Asbjorn? Looks like you've got a little odd coding on the DR listing near the start of your block. Also, what's snakescale armor? Couldn't find it anywhere.
I'll try to get the first post up tomorrow, though like I said, I won't be available too much Saturday and Sunday.
I'll take look at the stat block in a sec. Hero lab doesn't always transfer like it should when you export it to BBC. The Snakescale armor comes from Serpent's Skull, or at least that is what is listed as the source on Hero Lab. I'll also have a price list up for you soon. That armor is cool because it lets me keep in line with the druid side of things, yet keep the image I have for what a Viking should be. If we run into an issue with it, I'll fix it easy enough.
Did some editing and added my bear companion to the profile. The bear's name is Bror (Norwegian for brother.I use Norwegian for Skald, seems fitting, haha.) Bror has an intelligence of 3 so I am not sure how that works in regards to communication and such. If you want to use him as an NPC when out of combat, I personally think that would be kind of fun.
@ motteditor - thanks for the spot check.
-Arrn'ess was an earlier name thats now been edited.
-Still not 100% stuck on Great Fortitude but I'll definitely make a decision by game time.
-I couldnt resist the 'priceless' comment :->
thanks again. Im really looking forward to this game!
I have a spot for you in my kingmaker campaign if you are still interested one of the players mentioned that you may. The party is really wide open we have a human ranger (skill monkey), centaur ranger, hobgoblin warrior, and an elf witch. So any concept perhaps like a field general would be great. Anyway just let me know one way or another so I can make a plot opening for you. My email chef_bryce@live.com
Sorry, guys, I'm not going to get that first post up tonight; will have to wait until Monday.
Also, still need to know why Kreg and Asbjorn are at the wedding. You can know each other/Jessarae if you want, but that's completely up to you. Koremar's going to be there on his own.
Asbjorn may be more of a crasher by accident. Having been in bear form for, too long and a state of rage , he and Bror will come blasting out of the forest or something and have to be calmed by one of the attendees. If this works for you then that is the path I'll take.
Hmm, that could work at a certain moment Bilbo, but it would involve kind of missing all the initial role-playing scene. (There's going to be another party crasher shortly, so it feels like it'd be awfully redundant to have it happen twice. Bellis, and the groom, are known for their honey, however, so maybe you're there because of that?)
Erefine, I'll let you know if we need a replacement. Hopefully we can get through the one mod with no dropouts. : )
And we're ready to begin. The thread can be found here.
Just a quick hello from the peanut gallery. I'm lurking the thread, and enjoying your antics so far. I'm also running the module as a PbP here on the boards, and it is fun to see what another group does with the module.
If it is any consolation, my players also managed to build a group of 7th level PC's who were virtually unable to deal with a swarm. They managed to defeat it anyway, and I'm sure you will do the same...the water was a fun tactic.
