"אנחנו לא התקף שני לרגליים אם שני לרגליים לא לתקוף אותנו."

Draconic:

"We no attack two feets if two feets no attack us."

Male Kobold Sorcerer 4 (red dragon bloodline)

"They say they no attack two feets if two feets no attack them. They smart, no want to die. Not bad, just," Kereek tilts his head, trying to find the right word, "Grumpy?"

To the wyrms: "אתה לא דרקון, אבל אתה ממשיך מילה, כן? Kereek לתת לך מתנה. לשתות מים לגרום לך להרגיש טוב יותר. כואב לעשות טוב יותר." Kereek steps up slowly to them and places a potion of Cure Light Wounds on the ground between the wyrms and Kereek.

Draconic:
You not dragon, but you keep word, yes? Kereek give you gift. Drink and water make you feel better. Make hurts better.

"מצטער על מת לא, הדרקון. גיבורים גדולים לא יודע לא, דרקונים חכם כמו הגמד הרע. המלח לא, דרקון יש שם?"

Draconic:
Kereek sorry about dead not-dragon. Big heroes not know not-dragons smart like kobold. Dead not-dragon have name?

Male Half elf Spell-Less Ranger 4

"I think this is a big mistake that is literally going to bite us later. When we begin settling this area, others are going to be using this ford and they won't know anything about the deal we've brokered with these creatures. They wil attack them and then we will have to come out here again and deal with the problem."

m kobold cavalier (beast rider) 4

Prazil cautiously backs Fang away from the tatzlwyrms and watches nervously as Kereek approaches. His hammer, while lowered, is still gripped tightly in his little scaled hand and he seems ready to spring back into the fray should the tatzlwyrms prove aggressive toward his clutch-brother.

Male Kobold Sorcerer 4 (red dragon bloodline)

"Kereek be ambazz-a-bor to not-dragons. When sett-lers come, Kereek come first and make territory for not-dragons. Not-dragons smart like kobold. Maybe not-dragons be friends of Big Heroes?"

Male Human (Ulfen) Cleric 4

"Well, this could have turned out worse, I suppose. Having kobolds in the group isn't boring, I'll give you that."

Human Witch 4, 25/25 hp

"You can put up signs", Treshiell suggests to Orin. "געדענק אונדזער מעציע", she calls out to the wyrms then moves back to her horse.

Draconic:

Remember our bargain

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Moving on, despite Orin's better instincts, you eventually make camp, settling down for the evening.

However, just two hours into your watch, Prazil suddenly hears rustling coming from the nearby underbrush!

Dice rolls:

1d3 ⇒ 1
1d4 ⇒ 2

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18

Treshiell looks so different now! No wonder all the guys are hitting on her.

m kobold cavalier (beast rider) 4

in draconic: "Treshiell! What am that sound?!" Prazil springs to his feet, his shield and hammer ready.

Human Witch 4, 25/25 hp

Treshiell rises to her feet and stands crouched with her back against the fire. "מיר האבן ניט הערן עפּעס", Treshiell replies and gives Orin a kick to wake him up.

Draconic:

We did not hear anything

If there is time
Treshiell chants an arcane rhyme into her closed fist which starts to glow from within. She opens her palm to reveal three orbs of light orbiting in a perfect circle. With a whisper the spheres shoot out into the darkness towards where Prazil pointed (assuming that Prazil indicates where he heard the noise from).

motteditor wrote:

I thought it was time for a change. The previous avatar was the best fit among those available at the time, but i always thought she looked abit to aggressive. This one is better because she still looks confident but alot calmer and slightly curious. Still not a perfect fit since i see more of the witch iconic Freyia when i envision her, but there aren't any good Freyia pics among the avatars at the moment :(

Male Half elf Spell-Less Ranger 4

Feeling the kick, Orin rolls with the blow and comes to his feet with his sword in his hands. "What the ...?" he mutters as he looks around the campsite.

m kobold cavalier (beast rider) 4

Prazil will start to approach the underbrush as Treshiell's lights float over toward it. He'll repeatedly bang his hammer against his shield as he does so, making lots of loud noise to perhaps both scare off whatever terrible foe lurks in the shrubbery as well as wake up the rest of the camp.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

As Prazil approaches, three dragon-like forms -- that tatzlwyrms! -- leap out of hiding and attack. Two of the vicious sets of jaws clack off the kobold's armor, but one does manages to find the tender scales beneath it 6 hp damage. The tatzlwyrm grabs on, and a moment later breaths a cloud of poisonous vapor into Prazil's snout.

"אנחנו תוקפים שתי רגליים מה לתקוף אותנו!" one of them cries as it surges toward Orin, the other breaking off toward Treshiell. Their jaws close on the pair, though Orin 8 hp is able to avoid being grabbed like Treshiell. 7 hp

Note that Kereek, Jon and Agnar are still in their bedrolls, but can have been woken during the surprise round. The wyrms went first in initiative other than Agnar, so I had them do the surprise round and the Round 1 actions, and you'll all go now before they go again; hope that's OK.

Assuming the tatzlwyrm's cries and the ensuing melee are enough to wake us...

Round 1

Agnar stands up out of his bedroll, grabbing up his longspear, ready to go to Treshiell's aid.

Male Kobold Sorcerer 4 (red dragon bloodline)

Kereek, upon hearing the fracas, bolts awake. Seeing the tatzylwyrms, he shrieks "תולעים בוגדנית! עונשין שקרנים! ראוי הדרקון שם! עכשיו אתה ומטגנים!"

draconic:
Traitorous worms! Foul liars! Unworthy of the name dragon! Now you fry!

Kereek springs out of his sleeping nest and makes ready to cast doom upon the treacher worms!

Treshiell let's out a loud shriek as the wyrm claws and grapples her, although it's more a shriek of anger than fear or pain. With all the strength she can muster, Treshiell strikes her attacker over the muzzle with both hands and channels her magic into the creature. The shriek transforms into a song consisting of a one sentance verse followed by a skew chorus.

Standard action to cast Misfortune hex on the tatzlwyrm attacking me, DC15 will save to resist the hex.
Use Cackle hex to prolong the Misfortune hex for one round (if the wyrm misses its save that is)

m kobold cavalier (beast rider) 4

Coughing momentarily after the tatzlwyrm breathes in his face, Prazil shakes his head and exclaims, "משתעל שיעול שיעול! הנשימה מסריח!"

draconic:
"Augh! Ack! Cough! You am breath STINK! How am you not dead from you own breath yet?!"

With a grunt and low growl in the back of his throat, Prazil tries to overpower his attacker and burst from the false dragon's grip.

"What's going on?!" Jon yells from his tent as he jumps up and grabs his sword. As he steps out of the tent, he takes on a defensive posture as he takes in his surroundings (Perception 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9) and again finds himself in the all to familar position of being attacked while standing just outside his tent with nothing but sleepwear and a bastard sword.

These worms also make up a defining moment in Jon's life, as he most certainly will be turning in his PETA card.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Whoops again; just realized that the initiatives looked a little screwed up. If anyone noticed/is confused, it's because I saw what they were and then when I went back into do the wyrms' Round 1 actions, thus adding in more d20 attack rolls, obviously it changed the later initiative ones. I still get caught up sometimes with adding in rolls that mess up later rolls that I've already accounted for.

Round 1:

Agnar: 21
Treshiell: 20
Jon: 19
Prazil: 16
Kereek: 14
Orin: 10
Tatzlwyrms: 9

As Jon, Agnar and Kereek leap out of their bedrolls, their threatened friends fight for their lives.

Treshiell tries to deal with the creature attacking her on her own, her magic seeming to have little effect is the beast breathes a cloud of poisonous gas into her face. The witch reels a little as she suddenly feels weaker, her stomach roiling. 1 point Con damage; the hex actually did work, but since the wyrm succeeded on both rolls, I figure there's no visible effect; not sure if there's a way Treshiell would know whether the magic is effective or not...

Orin rushes to the witch's aid, ignoring a swipe from the creature attacking him, but can't hit, his bladework hampered by his efforts to avoid hitting the young woman entangled with the wyrm.

Prazil manages to get out from the clutches of the wyrm, fortunately feeling no effect of its potentially deadly breath.

The two remaining wyrms continue their attacks on Orin and Prazil, though neither is able to penetrate the fighters' armor.

Dice rolls:

Wyrm save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Wyrm AoO on Orin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Wyrm attack on Orin: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Round 2:

Noting Orin's gotten to Treshiell, Agnar shifts his attention to the other wyrm. He rushes across the intervening ground, seeking to impale the creature on his spear. Charge attack, if there's enough distance to initialize the action.

Attack roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Round 2 - Initiative 16

"!ניסיתי להגיד לך. ניסיתי. עכשיו אני דואגת לך אף פעם לא הזיק לאף אחד שוב" Prazil shouts loudly as he brings his hammer home to strike one of the tatzlwyrms.

draconic:

Mwk Warhammer: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Male Kobold Sorcerer 4 (red dragon bloodline)

In a muttery voice "כן נכון Prazil, Kereek הלא נכון. פשוט להרוג את התולעים בוגד!"

Draconic:
Yes Prazil right, Kereek wrong. Just kill the traitor worms!

Kereek moves to where he can catch as many worms in his cone of fire as he can without endangering his teammates. If he has to, he casts defensively: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 Bang on!

Treshiell continues to use her dark magic on the wyrm attacking her as Thaal tries to sink its fangs into the much larger reptile but can't seem to penetrate its hide. -2 AC

Jon rushes in to help free Treshiell, his blade cutting deep on the distracted beast, spraying green blood over himself, the witch and Orin. 9 hp

Prazil brings his hammer down on the dragon attacking him, slamming its head into the ground and stunning it momentarily. 7 hp The opening leaves an opportunity for Kereek, who doesn't want to risk singing his four bigger companions surrounding the other two wyrms, and he sprays fire toward it. However, it quickly regains its senses and ducks the worst of the blast. 6 hp damage

Seeing the new threat, the wyrm leaps toward the red-scaled kobold with a loud growl, but can't get its jaws around him. The beast attacking Orin is more successful, sinking its fangs deep into the ranger and then wrapping around him, holding him tight in its clutches. 5 hp damage, Orin is now grappled

The final wyrm continues its savage assault on Treshiell, gouging the young woman with vicious claws. Blood flows freely as it maintains its iron grip on the now badly injured witch. 12 hp damage

Prazil and Kereek have more success, as the dark-scaled kobold's warhammer again stuns the lizard before his clutchmate finishes the beast off with another gout of flame.

Apparently oblivious to their own injuries and their companion's demise, the remaining two tatzlwyrms press their attack.

Elvish:

"You shall not have her! I would rather die first then let that happen."

Whoops. Yeah, round 4, not round 3.

Round 4:

Kereek lets out a loud WHOOP as the worm falls to the magic and hammer of the kobolds. He spins, seeing Treshiell and Orin menaced and hisses a syllable of arcana as he points at any remaining living worms.

As a part time representative of the monster's union i'm going to have to stab myself in the back. If i'm not mistaken you loose your dex modifier to AC when you're grappled (and grappling), which should put Treshiell's AC at a 10 (i've forgotten to update that myself in my posts). So i think that all attacks hit and Treshiell is at -2.

Round 4, initiative 19
ac 10, touch 10, fleet-footed 10
fort +2, ref +2, will +5
cmd 12
hp -2/17
effects: 1 con damage, grappled

More blood spurts from Treshiell's mouth as the wyrm continues to rake her and she falls limply into its claws. Thaal slithers quickly up her arm to rest on the witch's neck and hisses angrily at the larger reptile.

Stabilization roll:

1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9 vs 10. Fail! (damn con damage!) -1 hit points.

Although if i'm wrong i'll use Evil eye hex to give the tatzylwrym a attack penalty as a standard action and then Cackle as a move action.

Yup, you're right, thanks, Treshiell. Appreciate it.

Round 4:

Agnar: 21
Treshiell: 20
Jon: 19
Prazil: 16
Kereek: 14
Orin: 10
Tatzlwyrms: 9

Agnar stabs the wyrm, drawing a spur of blood as it remains focused on the half-elf who killed its companion back at their nest. 5 hp damage

Thaal hisses angrily as Treshiell lies crumpled, though the little serpent doesn't have long to worry as Jon lays on hands. The healing energy knits her wounds closed, though she remains unconscious. 2 hp healing; Jon, I changed your action based on your comments about now that Treshiell was looking better. Also it looks like you get 2d6 healing with each use of the ability, though you wouldn't know it by the way I rolled.

Prazil also rushes to the witch's aid, slamming his warhammer on the tatzlwyrm that's nearly eviscerated her. 5 hp damage Seconds later, the other kobold strikes as well, Kereek's ball of acid splashing onto the draconic creature's scales with an angry hiss.

Orin, raging over the witch's fate, turns his back on his own enemy and slashes the other drake. A gout of blood flies though the creature seems to be ignoring its horrific wounds. 7 hp damage

The wyrms both focus on the half-elf now. One manages to slip in Treshiell's blood, though, throwing off its attack. The other sinks its fangs into Orin's leg, ripping horribly, though it loses its grip as it tries to scramble up and hold onto the ranger. 9 hp

Dice rolls:

Lay on hands: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

Tatzlwyrm 1 attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Tatzlwyrm 1 attack reroll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Tatzlwyrm 2 attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Tatzlwyrm 2 crit confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Grab: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Status:

Wyrm 1 (on Treshiell): 21, -2 AC, misfortune
Wyrm 2 (on Orin): 16 hp

That'll be my last post until I get back, I think. You'll probably finish them off this round, though -- they have 1 and 6 hp left, respectively; AC 15, Touch 12, so feel free to post actions and then RP what happens afterward assuming you do kill them, if you want (or wait until Treshiell and I return).

Male Kobold Sorcerer 4 (red dragon bloodline)

Round 5: Kereek sees Treshiell go limp and he shrieks in anger! He focuses his rage on one of the still living worms!

Acid splash: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

However, his anger clouds his aim and his glob of acid goes wild, striking and scorching a nearby tree.

Round 5 - Initiative 16

If neither Agnar nor Jon are able to fell the tatzlwyrm that felled Treshiell, Prazil takes a swing at the false-dragon! (If they've already dropped it, he turns his attention to the remaining one!)

Round 5, Initiative 21

Agnar stabs at the wyrm again, hoping to take the rest of the fight out of it this time. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Yeah! That'll do pig, that'll do.

Jon strikes out at the wyrm, hoping to end it, but his face is covered in so much of Treshiell's blood that his aim suffers.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

So did Agnar kill the healthy one and Prazil finish the wimpy 1 hp guy?

Male Half elf Spell-Less Ranger 4

Looking up-thread it looks like Agnar was attacking the one that was attacking Orin, which would be the healthier of the two remaining tatzlwyrms. Which would leave the 1 hp one for Prazil to finish off.
