Nic watches the downed fire-woman warily as he floats over to Big Al, drawing out the wand and putting it to good use.

Al is worn ragged and breathing heavily by the time she sees the efreet fall.

After Nic has healed her back up, she say, "Nice work, team. I doubt we could have done that without even one of us. We're not quite done yet though, are we? If everyone is healed now, let's go through those doors and see what we find. It's possible these lava pits are where we need to put these tears, but we'd better make certain before we do."

When Allemara looks fully patched up, Nic looks down at his smoking wand. "Huh... all burned out."

He slips it into his backpack as he looks for other injured teammates.

Who else has a Wand of CLW? Tick can also put it to good use, and I'm guessing we don't want to dawdle.


Big Al donated a full one to the cause at the start of the adventure. Don't know if that's been taken into account. Also not sure we actually rolled the healing from the damage we took on the way up; I think we just handwaived it. Mott, if that's likely to matter in any final encounter(s) we should probably go back and deduct those charges too.

I like the idea of Nightsong leaping through the air wearing a +2 cape! Since she's rarely a target lets have one of us wear it instead though. Big Al's happy to trade up her +1 cloak if noone else wants it.

Sounds like it's safe at this point to handwave "we all heal with teh wand" and then move on. Let's do it!

Big Al puts on the cloak, offering her +1 cloak to anyone who doesn't already have one, and then takes a walk around the room, looking for hidden traps, objects, or passages, before going to listen at the door.

I guess I assumed the Large size of the items would be prohibitive to pretty much everyone... though I guess Nightsong (as the only large party-member) could wear it. I'm fine either way.

And I'm ready to push on, as well... I mean, assuming Lacsar can survive that hangnail.

The brass key opens the large doors at the far end of the chamber, revealing a narrow corridor that leads to a small ledge of rock jutting out over the crater of the volcano. The heat is immense, even with the protection of the spell as 100 feet below, the lava boils and seethes. Rock and ash choke the air, making it even harder to see or breath.

With each step you take, the volcano rumbles with anger...

And just to review, we're supposed to toss the tears in the volcano, correct? IF so (and since it's in Nic's pack), I'm happy to do it. I just want to make sure I'm not dooming us all before I do it. :)

As Nic reaches the precipice, the volcano grows perfectly still.

The oracle tosses the tears of last remorse over, the liquid vanishing in a cloud of steam the moment they touch the magma.

The building eruption instantly stills, and the lava solidifies into black rock in a growing circle radiating outward from the center. A heartbeat passes, and the rock fades into perfect, crystalline clarity.

A wave of energy suddenyl explodes over the crater’s surface, blowing apart the walls of the volcano and collapsing the crater floor.

Somehow miraculously unharmed, you lie at the edge of a deep, clear lake now filling the volcanic caldera—one eerily reminiscent of the caldera of Arakau on Kraken’s Maw.

Outside the volcano, the damage from the eruption remains -- the top third of the mountain gone -- but you can see below the eruption did no damage to the Blackcrag Cove and you were successful in your desperate mission to save the town.

You can all advance a level and a mythic tier -- though since we're done now, there's probably no point. :) I'll leave the campaign thread open for a few days if anyone wants to say anything else, but will close it probably by Monday.

He goes to Big Al and holds his hand up towards her, hoping for another circus lift from the woman. "Lass...I wouldn't be opposed to a meal or a drink with yeh!"


"I'd be more than happy to join the rest of you for a celebratory meal. And after that, perhaps we can discuss the possibility of a more lasting partnership..."


"Hear hear! You know, now that I think about it, we never made it to the Cantankerous Kraken before all this madness began, did we? I did hear they have great butterfish, and with luck maybe a barrel or two of halfling brown ale to wash it down with!"

She puts an arm on Tickdown's shoulder...and another as high as she can manage on Nic's back, smiles at Dorian and Lacsar. "Now, what do you suppose the odds are that we have time to enjoy some fish and beer in peace before the next world-shattering calamity comes along?"
