You should probably just assume you are DM-NPCing Ando for a little while. I'm sure TB will be back when he can, but it's about 2.5 weeks now since we last heard from him. He'll let us know when he is ready to jump back in.

Sorry, should have checked the discussion boards before acting on behalf of TB. Just seemed like it was logical for another turning attempt.

Hey guys, my apologies for the unannounced, prolonged absence. I'm back, but will disappear again between July 21-26, August 9-20 or so, and September 11-19... and perhaps a few other weekends...
And yes, the second turning attempt would have been an appropriate action... ;-) And just so you know, Andolphas has the Extra Turning feat, which allows him to make 9(!!!) turning attempts per day!
Guys, work is killing me this week (and most of last), I haven’t the time or inclination to formulate well thought out posts at this point. Bear with me, I should be back on track in a couple of days.
Hah. No worries. We'll be here when you get a minute to breathe.
Just noticed the question above. We are going back to nyc. Gotta hit all the things we miss and see some friends. I'm hungry for yakitori and okinomiyaki just thinking about it :)
It is definitely not too far out of the ordinary for some practices, though my boss is pretty against setting (or agreeing to) unrealistic deadlines, so it doesn’t happen very often here. But we have been hectically busy lately, had to let someone go (for being really, really incompetent) and haven’t had a chance to interview anyone new for the position yet.
Yeah, it could be worse. I have a lot of friends who’s companies were downsizing over the past two years, we have managed to stay busy all the way through.
Sorry for the unannounced absence guys – very busy at work last week, followed by bad case of flu, followed by busy at work again (and still sick) ... trying to catch up on things (perhaps slowly) from today.
Not a problem Moth; been fairly busy at this end too. I'll continue to check in here and there until I see some action, but no rush in the meantime, especially with Twiceborn and Ithuriel both out this week.
As a character who used to handle certain jobs off the books for his commanding officer I figured Harrigan is pretty callous about that sort of thing. He could see the other characters dillying around and decided he'd save them from themselves before Filge had a chance to report them to Smenk. :)
Heh...my Filge is working for the PCs.
They were surprised to find him again, and one or two were not happy that Allustan had told them he was sending him to jail, but put him to work at his buddy's house.
A very interesting reunion, with him stood over a corpse, with a worm in his tweezers!
Just a reminder that I will be away, without internet access, from September 13-18. Also, the last two weeks of September are going to be very hectic, work-wise, with long work days/nights. So my posting may be erratic, possibly even non-existent during that period.
I was hoping they'd take him up on his offer of helping them investigate the cult.
Oops?

You killed Filge....YOU BASTARDS!
Yeah I know ... cold.

It would have been fun to see; I thought your characterization of Filge was pretty fantastic. You had some great lines for him. There are plenty of other memorable characters in the AP, but he holds a special place in my heart.
Sorry for being Creepy Uninvited Lurker, I just love AoW and have fun seeing how other groups tackle the challenges of Diamond Lake and beyond.

Yeah, I had fun voicing him.
No problem with the lurking, hope you are enjoying the game. Feel free to comment further if you like.
Let's see- average of d8 is 4.5 rounded up to 5 right? So that would give me +7hps with Con mod and I can be happy with that.
I took ranger to mechanically give better representation of his time in the military- scouting, tracking and stuff and because he needed a little help in being able to connect with a weapon and take a hit. I had originally thought I'd be a ranged crossbow guy, but having played a while now I'm going to see what I can do to supplement Brashen on the front line. That probably means some combination of rogue/ranger TWF perhaps with a dwarven urgrosh. We'll see. I'm not there yet.
I took undead as favored enemy to offset some of his shortcomings as a rogue when facing them.
Hey Ash, I noticed that you picked up Brew Potion as your third level feat. Whilst there’s no problem with that per se, I should warn you that this campaign, especially if / when we get to higher levels may not have much down time. So whilst item creation feats will no doubt come in handy, you might not get as much use out of them as you would like at times.
Since we're all levelling up, I thought this might be a good time to ask... are we converting to Pathfinder?
Still crazy busy at work, and will be for the next couple of weeks. So if I post, it will be sporadically at best...
Cheers!
In my dark ages game yes.
In this game ... I'd probably prefer not. I'm trying to run this campaign as much as possible straight from the published adventures to minimise the prep work I need to do and thus give me the time to run two on-line campaigns.
If there is an overwhelming chorus of 'we want to change!' I will certainly consider it, but even in that case I'd probably prefer to do it at the start of the next (or a later) part rather than right now (we are still currently in part 1: The Whispering Cairn. Next up is part 2: The Three Faces of Evil, if everyone is interested in continuing).
Anyway, happy to have more discussion on converting to Pathfinder if that's what people want.
Have levelled up Andolphas. The only thing I haven't done is select his spells for the day. I chose Divine Spell Power as his new feat (from Complete Divine). I hope that's okay.

Should be fine, but can you remind me what it does?
DIVINE SPELL POWER [DIVINE]
You can channel positive or negative energy to enhance
your divine spellcasting ability.
Prerequisites: Ability to turn or rebuke undead, able to
cast 1st-level divine spells.
Benefit: You can spend a turn or rebuke attempt as a free
action and roll a turning check (with a special +3 bonus, plus
any other modifiers you’d normally apply to your turning
check). Treat the result of the turning check as a modifier
to your caster level on the next divine spell you cast in that
round.
For example, if a cleric used this feat and rolled a 16 on his
turning check, he would add a +2 bonus to his caster level
for the next divine spell he casts in the round. Had he rolled
an 8, he would instead apply a –1 penalty to his caster level
for the next divine spell he cast in the round.
If you don’t cast a divine spell before your next turn, you
lose the effect of the check result. This feat has no effect on
your arcane spellcasting ability.

Ok - it seemed appropriate given the potion notes we found with Filge, but I'll take another look and might change it for something likely to get a little more use. Thanks.

Don't let me deter you necessarily - if you want that feat, go ahead and take it, in the short term you may well find it useful.
With Filge's notes, you could probably use the Brew Potion feat to instead make his concoctions (necroturgens) which are basically like potions but you inject them.
Apologies for my unannounced absence over the past week or so; turns out that looking after a new baby (who’s been sick as well) combined with the general busyness that accompanies the lead up to Christmas doesn’t leave much time for recreational computer use. Who knew?
I’ll try to catch up on things tonight and tomorrow, although I’ll probably not be around much again on the 25th and 26th. Oh, and happy Christmas etc to everyone.
This seems to have bogged down a little, so I might just move things along a bit if no one objects?
Busy... but fine.
No objections with regards to moving things along. Most of the PCs seemed to be leaning towards heading for the hunter's shack. Hopefully you won't spring something on us as we try to leave the cairn!
I've been wondering... do we have a long-term goal for this game? I can't imagine that we'll play the full 12 adventures in the path -- at the rate at which we've been going, that would take more than twenty-four years!
