Yeah, not too bad. Lots of info on adding Dragon related perks to your character.

They finally did Sorcerer Bloodline powers for all of the other Dragons besides Metallic and Chromatic (I've been wanting this for the Umbral Dragon for forever).
Gave some Archetypes for having a Drake Animal Companion.
New Draconic Familiar options.
Enhancements for the Wyvaran.
Draconic Spells.
Draconic Feats.

I have to be selective about the books I get these days because of lack of cashola, but this was one that I have been looking forward to.

Okay, that may well be some good common ground for Haelynn and Ameiko to bond over.

What roles are people planning on focusing on?

Yumiko is going to be a debuffer.

Haelynn is primarily going to focus on buffing and healing with a few summons here and there. Her Strength score of 8 is not going to make her very useful in melee unfortunately.

Here is what I have so far. Just used the name as a filler while I thought of a better one but it is starting to grow on me...

Please have a look and give me any suggestions, made this guy a bit faster than usual.

I swapped a few racial traits Moth, let me know if thats not ok. Same for the scout archetype. Figured that fit with Shalelu and possible role in the caravan.

I still need to do equipment and a back story - basically imagining that he was an orphan kid who turned up at Sandpoint, was taken under the wing of Shalelu, though spent a lot of time around town clinging to other personalities as well.

Brash, Scout is fine, alternate racial traits are fine, but note that adaptive luck replaces halfling luck, so you won't get the +1 racial bonus to saving throws.

You get a drake rather than a horse as your animal companion / mount - sounds good, but you need to give up a LOT of class features to get it. Also, if I understand correctly, your drake starts at Tiny size, and goes up a size category every 4 or 5 levels; so you need to wait until 13th level until it reaches large size, ie, big enough for a human to use as a mount.

Aight, quick draft build of my character. Still not 100% happy with the stats, I'm kind of tempted to dump wisdom, as awful as that idea sounds... Also, not sure what the group's view on it is, but I should say that I'm really not building to optimise. I think I'm cool to stick with the standard Cavalier class in that case. Thanks for flagging as an option Flash and providing the low-down Moth.

Ok, most of you have either posted or emailed me with a final or near final character sheet; thanks for that. Gizmoh has changed from running a dwarf ranger to most likely going with an elven samurai, but everyone else is pretty much the same. Still not sure what Flash is going to run with. I have reviewed Yumiko and Marc and done a quick check of Grendel and Xargin; everyone let me know when everything is locked down stat-wise and I will do a last review.

I probably need a bit more of an idea of some of the characters’ back-story, and how they might know the other characters (if they do) – it doesn’t need to be anything super detailed, a few lines might do it.

I have a fairly good sense of Yumiko and Haelynn; their relationship with each other, Koya and possible relationships (or lack of) with other characters, but I’m curious as to how they ended up in Sandpoint in the first place.

I understand Marc and Xargin’s back stories, why they are in Sandpoint and their relationships to their chosen NPCs. They are both reasonably charismatic individuals who tend to hang out at taverns a bit, so finding links to them is easy enough, though I don’t think we’ve established any specific links with other characters yet.

Grendel might be a bit tricky, as the halfling is linked with Shalelu, who is a bit of an outsider; but she is a good friend of Ameiko’s, so Grendal is likely to know other characters linked to Ameiko.

Gizmoh has chosen Ameiko as his linked PC, possibly he will end up being some sort of former bodyguard or retainer of her fathers? We’re still hashing out details.

Mothman, I am still refining my build. As Haelynn worships Shelyn, I kind of want to emphasis Charisma and Perform. So looking at the oracle, just not sure if the Life mystery is the best way to go or sticking with straight cleric. If I go cleric I lose the Charisma as my focus.

Healing a large group, I really need to focus on channel energy as well. So that means leaning back towards the Spirit Guide Oracle of Life.

Any suggestions on what would be the best option?

As for background, my original idea for Haelynn was her father accompanied the "heir" to Varisia and fell in love with a local woman. He died in battle, and she died in childbirth. Considering the nature of their children, the birth was probably very abnormal and might still be the talk of local legend.

The sisters have grown up under the partial guardianship of Koya (Friend of the Family trait) and by their own skills and talents. I was thinking Haelynn and Yumiko have looked out for each other and supported each other to survive, and probably have a reputation for being quite mischievous in their youth.

Since they were born in Sandpoint, the two have only ever known the town and are long-term locals. Haelynn probably has a strong connection to Ameiko and Xargin as she worships Shelyn and enjoys performing (especially dancing and singing). If Marc is the dashing knight in town, she might also spend time trying to see him sparring or riding about town.

I am seeing a scene where, moments after the sisters are born, the two of them are laid head-to-toe swaddled in blankets while the town's midwife and clerics desperately attempt to save their mother. As the camera pans up and over them, we see the two babies forming a yin-yang symbol with their sleeping infant forms.

I can see Yumiko having a hate/lust/envy thing going on with most of the high Charisma male characters (I like him, he's handsome, but unobtainable because I'm this cursed thing. What a jerk. I'll be mean to him so that he pays attention to me. *Turns to jelly if shown any interest*).

No worries mate, earliest I am likely to be able to start is Wednesday or Thursday afternoon / evening. Friday is game night, so if I haven't kicked off by then it will probably be the weekend anyway.

No worries on tweaking build.

Yeah, its a big group to heal, if you want to take the role of 'healer' (and you don't have to - but it would certainly be helpful to have a healer) I think you almost need channels as well as cures to do it effectively. Keep in mind you do have Koya as a backup healer, but she will be more 'between forays' rather than coming out on adventures with you. Either cleric of oracle of life could serve.

Background is cool. Again, you probably don't know that the 'heir' is particularly special, though you may have heard family rumours that the departure from Minkai was not exactly by choice.

I’m waiting on Ash to make some tweaks, Brashen to finish equipment, Tinkergoth to decide on a drawback and Chubbs to confirm cleric or oracle. Once locked in I’ll do final reviews.

I don't exactly know what foolin' around with a curse-witch is like, but I assume they would get on like a house on fire (ie. people ending up in hospital, uncontrolled fires and a fair amount of toxic smoke.)

You don't need to spend a lot of time on a back story, I can live with orphan taken under wing by Shalelu. Probably more important to establish a link with at least one other character in the group. Maybe he's done a bit of sparring / training with Marc or with Gizmoh's elven samurai?

The oracles gives up a load of revelations to acquire new spells and a hex ability that can be changed each time you renew spells for the day. I have decided to just fix it as the life mystery (tracking the bonus spells will become a nightmare otherwise). The hex ability can be chosen from a short list of "life mystery" inspired hexes, but only one can be known at anytime and once chosen cannot be altered for the rest of the day. Ok almost there I think, I have written up a back story for your perusal Moth. If you are happy with it, there is a possible connection with Yumiko and Haelynn through Koya, and anyone connected to Shalelu. The way I have gone though, Grendel would be reasonably well known around town, so possible connections with others. Open to suggestions.

That background works well, and gives me enough to work with. Probably none of the other characters know you well, but they know you by sight.
