Male Human Fighter / 2

Do the (what we are presuming to be) boat tracks also end down stream of the weir? I think it would be safe to assume that they would not put the boat in on one side, and then row through the small gap where the current is quite forceful.

"A few of us might need to cross so we can follow the river on both banks to look for where they left the water."

No, the drag marks (and footprints) end right at the broken edge of the weir ... maybe it was a makeshift bridge they dragged over rather than a boat.

Ok, so what is the action plan here?

"Can we use the mules to cross to the weir? Is the water too deep or fast for that?"

"We did it before. Let's try it again."

Female Human Witch 1 AC 13 HP 8

"It's worth a try. Let's get moving. I suggest one of our stronger fighters be first across in case they are less far ahead that we assume."

Last time Reekis jumped across with a rope. Once you have a rope tied off on the other side, getting people and ponies across will not be that difficult.

"I guess it's down to me again," says Reekis, looking martyred. "Get the rope."

Female Human Witch 1 AC 13 HP 8

Anor picks a rope up off one of the mules and throws it, more "at", than "to" Reekis. "Always, we wait for you to save our butt.... "

Male Human Fighter / 2

Adalwin takes up his bow, positioning himself where he has a view of the other side of the bank.
"Just in case somethings waiting for you over there"

Reekis gives Anor a sour look as he ties the rope around his waist. "Just make sure you are holding the other end of this when I jump," he says, tossing the free end back at her. After Addy's comment, he peers with concern at the far bank. Then he takes a deep breath, does a few leg bends to warm up, steps back, and takes a run up before leaping across the stream.

Jump check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

"AAAAAAAAAARGH!" Reekis crashes into the bushes on the far side.

Female Human Witch 1 AC 13 HP 8

Anor just grins, and takes a firm grip of the rope. "Wow! Nice Jump Reek, even better than last time." she shouts. Then she turns to Jeva and says "Pity he didn't fall in though."

Jasper claps excitedly, "Good jump!"

He climbs onto Percival and carefully nudges him toward a spot on the bank where it looks like the mule could safely enter the stream.

Eljoy turns towards the others. "Everyone across now. I'll watch Ady's killer vine."

Anor nods. "Jeva, you go first. Holding the rope you should be alright."

You sure you want to have her alone with Reekis on the far bank?

Female Human Witch 1 AC 13 HP 8

Lol, it wont be for long... She'll probably stab him with some so far unseen weapon if he tries anything.

Nice.

Jeva has been alternating between gazing with suspicion at the ‘moving vine’, kicking idly at a clump of weeds, and yawning widely over the past five minutes or so. Now she looks up at Anor. “That would be funny,” she smiles. She takes the offered rope. “Alright, I think I can make it over …”

At this point, everyone please give me a position on the map based on any recently stated actions. Also please give me a perception check.

Eljoy:
Take a +10 bonus on your perception check.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 So I guess Reekis is on the pier holding the rope at I10.

Is the bank generally a slope into the water? Jasper is being impetuous, but he will try to find a safe gradual spot for Percival to enter upstream from the weir. If they get washed down, he's hoping to come up against the weir.

This time Adalwin definitely sees the vine wrapped around the willow tree move as it partially unwraps itself from the trunk and coils up, looking as if it is going to spring at Eljoy or Anor.

Please all roll for initiative. Everyone except Adalwin is surprised and thus will not act in the surprise round. Adalwin, post your intended action along with initiative.

Mothman, I know I rolled. It was some middle number like 11, feel free to use that if this roll is higher.

The map.

[dice= INit] 1d20+1

Ha! Sorry if I missed it, but 11 sounds like right on the money!

Adalwin, already alert for trouble and with his bow to hand, quickly reacts, turning and smoothly drawing and firing an arrow at the creepy moving vine. The arrow hits and penetrates the thick vine, which recoils violently, oozing sap.

Long, thin green tendrils and leaves shaped vaguely like hands unwrap from the vine and spread out around the willow tree, waving in the still air. Suddenly other plants in the area – vines, grass, small bushes, spindly tree branches – begin reacting, waving and bending towards the humanoids in their midst, clawing at clothes, curling around legs.

Can all characters except Reekis (who has no plants in his immediate vicinity) make a DC 13 Reflex save to avoid becoming entangled as per the Entangle spell please.

Eljoy sweeps his axe at the grasping plants. The sliced portion fall motionless to the ground, winning the fighter a moment's freedom.

Mothman, I probably previewed the original init roll and never actually posted it. 'Twould explain why today's roll matched my memory.

halfling tattooed sorcerer (orc) 2 |AC 13, FF 13, T 11, CMD 9; F 1 R 3 W 6, +2 vs fear; hp 4/10; init +2; perc +10, +12 w/ familiar, +15 sight-based in shadows w/ familar

So this is all taking place before Percival enters the water, I presume. The grasping vines are probably entangling the poor mule rather than Jasper at this point.

ShadowWing is very upset about all of the hubbub and flies into a tree well away from the suddenly-animated plants to observe unmolested.

Percival, for his part, is surprised to find that the succulent greenery that he was about to nibble on while the humans talked like they so often do has taken on a life of its own and tried to wrap itself around his muzzle.

Reflex Save for Percival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Tsk, so close.

The poor animal is quickly held fast and nearing panic. He may never eat grass again!

Could someone please roll Reflex save for Oliver and take his surprise round action (remember, single action only in surprise round).

halfling tattooed sorcerer (orc) 2 |AC 13, FF 13, T 11, CMD 9; F 1 R 3 W 6, +2 vs fear; hp 4/10; init +2; perc +10, +12 w/ familiar, +15 sight-based in shadows w/ familar

Oliver's Reflex Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Surprisingly, Oliver avoids the worst of the entanglement. It appears that all he can do is step forward to be in range of a spear thrust later. He moves to I15.

Yes, before he's entered the water, and yes, if Jasper was riding rather than leading Percival it is the mule that gets entangled.
