Modern Magic and Monster Hunting


On the surface, the world looks just like our own. But hidden battles rage where normal people can't see them. Dark, terrible, and sometimes mind crushing monsters. A motley collection of forces fight for humanity. Wizards Councils, secret government agencies, professional bounty hunters, and even some of the monsters themselves.

This is a magical mashup of hidden magic contemporary urban fantasy. Harry Dresden, BPRD, Monster Hunters International, and other modern fantasy provide a foundation. A setting where Harry Dresden and Harry Potter could meet in a dark alley to fight werewolves.

Dresden Files: The War with the Red Council has been over for nearly 5 years. There are more Wardens now than ever, but they are also weaker than usual. Most of the Wardens are under 50 years old, and they do not have the mastery of evocation magic that they might have had before the war. Anyone in the campaign associated with the White Council is probably involved with undermining Fomor strongholds in Boston.

Monster Hunter International: Something big is up at the Monster Control Bureau (MCB), which is the federal agency charged with combatting supernatural threats. The director has suddenly retired and been replaced by Director Cueto, a respected special agent. The terrifying Agent Franks is rumored dead or disabled. Special Task Force Uniform also has a new head Beth Flierl. (STFU is sort of a military black ops whose operatives are monsters. If you are PUFF (bounty) exempt, you may have worked with them in the past)

BPRD: the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense is in shambles. Most of the advanced skills agents have disappeared, in particular the devil and Abe Sapien. You may have heard rumors of a battle with a rogue Fey Prince.
