Bavari will follow you Xanya. You look around the campsite and even ask around and neither Jovar nor any of Tolhemia's group is here. You actually learn from Bavari, who learned through some other goatlings who arrived today, that Tolhemia's group had headed south through the mountain gap, downstream and had already met with Golden Ram earlier. Supposedly her group will shelter tonight in one of the main goatling villages. You find this curious, interesting and perhaps positive, because it means that Tolhemia has already explained much of your plight to Golden Ram. At least you hope so. This means Golden Ram was already on his way here, and also that he decided to keep coming here even after meeting with a large portion of your brothers and sisters. There must be a multifold reason for Golden Ram to have done what he did. You haven't quite figured out what or why though. You heavily suspect it may have something to do with the Ceremony though.

Bavari looks at you thoughtfully as he seems to process through the chain of events as well.


Day 2 - Evening/Night

As the groups mingle amongst the goatlings, darkness rolls in. The large bonfires illuminate and warm the camp. Torches on stakes form a perimeter about the campsite. Lined at the shore are the funeral pyres for the nineteen goatlings and battle goats slain. While great honor is afforded those who fell in battle, there is some awkwardness as many of the killers are here in the camp, and despite their feelings about battle prowess and bravery you sense some remorse from the other goatlings, perhaps even some uncomfortable looks. As the last ray of sunlight passed beneath the tip of the western mountains, a small brazier was lit, when that brazier burned out a short time later, the funeral pyres were lit by shamans who sang a quick prayer in goatling. Those who have been studying the language make out little, but the basics involve the spirits of the ancestors guiding the fallen on a serene journey to the afterlife so that they may watch over the living and guide them in the future, in life and in battle. They speak of those who had just fallen as well as those who fell in battle or to other reasons in the past year. Music is played but the great horns and mighty drums are silent. Instead smaller drums, and lighter instruments are played, pipes and flutes and maracas made from gourds. The music is very fast and there is a lot of quick stamping designed to shake the ground. The sound of over a hundred pairs of goatling hooves on the rocky shore creates quite the noise. The wind blows the smoke, heat and luckily the smell of the pyres out over the lake to the east. The initial ceremony takes some time, and is followed by feasting with oat and seed cakes, dried fruit and some sort of fermented mash. For those who try the mash, it is quite sour, but packs a solid kick. Smaller dance circles break out and random music is played before the next ceremony.

Golden Ram is seated on a large chair overlooking the ceremonies, on a raised platform of wood and stone. He is surrounded by the Elder Council and his circle of grizzled warriors. Next begins a ceremony of the elements. It is explained that this will call spirits of nature and give thanks to the wind and rain, to fire and to the earth. It asks that those spirits continue to provide for the goatlings in the new year. All of the young goatling warriors form circles for this dance, and they begin to move in and out opening and closing the circles. The dance is not as quick as the funeral dance, less structured and more rhythmic. The music and singing is more sing-songy and they use a variety of instruments, some emulate vuvuzelas and others are like didgery-doos. The overall noise is like an ebb and flow of angry bees buzzing in and out. Golden Ram actually rises for this one and moves slowly in place, waving about a large sceptre in ritualized movements, with a little imagination you can see where the movements are designed to symbolize the elements as he moves through the motions. It appears to be largely ceremonial as those versed in spellcraft don't see anything arcane or divine actually happening. For all the singing, dancing and instruments you don't notice any spirits or anything very spiritual really, although perhaps more fermented oat mash might help.

Finally there seems to be preparation underway for the final Ceremony of the Lake. The great drums are brought forward and the giant horns are placed in position.

During idle time and waiting for the Golden Ram to address all of the Brothers and Sisters of Goodwin, Quassine can be seen meditating. While meditating, he realizes that he looks pretty shabby and smells like a bad mixture of blood, dirt, and sweat. After finishing his meditation, he casts prestidigitation on himself and the tent the group will be sleeping in. After cleaning up a little, he tries to help the goatlings in preparations and learning more goatling as he helps them. He even tries to get into the dances if it appears to be a communal dance in which he can join. Quassine believes if they can make friends with the goatlings, they can either directly or indirectly help the group find Archmage Goodwin. However, there is Goatling customs to honor and he will honor them.


They don't seem to mind the efforts of Quassine and Xanya to join in their dances or singing, as awkward as it is. They understand there is a linguistics barrier and this is your first time dancing. The initial funeral dance was extremely frenetic and tiring to those not used to it, even with a hardy constitution, pounding your feet on the rocky ground was a little unpleasant.

Repost from the main thread as it actually have mechanical impact. Xanya will Prepeare an extract of Comprehend Languages and probably use it to listen to the Golden ram, but definitely use it to study the ring

Xanya starts pulling out various vials, hers and other ingredients and mixing them together in a jar.

After Simon is done dancing she heads over to him and Cardau. "Let me see that ring again. I found a way to read the inscription." She holds out her hand again.

She still delays drinking the extract until the Golden Ram seems ready to speaking, though it'll last 20 minutes so she'll probably have time to listen and read the inscription in between.


Xanya you drink the extract as it seems close to the start of a speech. You are able to reach the words on the ring, and the pronunciation of what may be a command word on the ring becomes clear. While the group had earlier narrowed it down to some possible pronunciations with their linguistics skills, the extract helps determine which one is correct.

You nod and understand, and then the speech begins.


Day 2 - Night

After the Circle Dance of the Elements, things seem to quiet down as people prepare for the final Battle Dance. As it is set up some of the shamans and elders tell stories about ancient goatling heroes, and regale those who would listen with mythological tales. (see Master Thread for a recap of those)

The giant horns and massive kettle drums are manned by their musicians. Golden Ram stands on his platform and waves his sceptre. Everyone seems to quiet down. He addresses the assembled group, speaking, strangely enough in both Goatling and your ancient Common tongue, speaking twice in both languages. You suspect he may be aided by magic.

"Normally it is not the place of the Chief to attend the Ceremony of the Lake, this is for the warriors to demonstrate their battle skills, to come here and with the shamans, find their spirit with nature, and in battle. This year is special. Fate has sent us visitors from lands far beyond our world. These visitors have tested our warriors in battle, and our warriors fought bravely. Those who fell in battle today will be remembered, and those who lived through the battles will teach others. It is important that we learn from these visitors, because beyond our lands there are others who would see us gone. The dwarves and their allies take from our forests and dig in the earth for its wealth. Our lands shrink slowly over time, because we cannot match their magic and powerful metal despite our battle skills. These visitors have shown us that we are behind the times. I will speak with the visitors in the morning and see if they are willing to help us in exchange for our aid to them. Before we look to the future we must celebrate our past, and honor our warrior spirit. The Ceremony of the Lake is many things, but the Battle Dance is the culmination of the event. Our ancestors look on and the spirits of the world will judge us poorly if we do not show bravery in battle, cunning and stealth, resilience, wisdom and fortitude. Let the world know that our ferocity is strong and that our enemies will tremble before our battle drums!"

With his final words, the drummers all at once begin a thunderous attack on their instruments. The ground shakes louder than ever before, and the mighty battle horns are sounded, in what is a near deafening blast. None of you can imagine a time or noise short of something magic, or that of a lot of exploding black powder, that something was so loud. The goatlings assemble and begin dancing their Battle Dance. Their is a manic, fierce frenzy to it. Their eyes seem to glaze over a bit, and their movements and footwork are sure and quick. The drums hammer out different beats, and the horns, both the huge ones and the smaller ones, accompany them. The power of the noise shakes the lake, and you can see the water at the edge of the shore vibrating as tiny droplets spring up on the surface and plink back down with each blast of the horn.

As the dance and noise reaches a crescendo, a patch of fog rolls in from the lake, heavier and denser than the mist that formed on the lake as the evening came and temperatures dropped. There is a sudden surge as the waves slap the shore higher and higher, and you hear a mighty roar come from the water. Something big in the water is coming ashore....

Xanya partakes in the dancing and thumping as best she can. She uses her innate magic to mimic the sound of the various instruments, amping up the volume even further. She is used to cacophonies of sound as they were quite common among the Derro and she is quite enjoying herself. Upon seeing the thing coming out of the lake she quickly springs to Cryxial and mounts him in one swift motion, muttering a quick incantation as a layer of force settles around her to protect her against attacks. She rides towards the thing. If it's one of the goatling's spirits she wants to listen to it. If it's a monster come to attack them, she wants to help defend against it. "Something's coming! Let's go to see!" She roars out smiling and laughing.

Cast mage armor on Xanya, if a round passes cast Mage Armor on Cryxial as well. Is comprehend languages still active?

A voice echoes in your head "Fear not mortals, I have heard your music and I have come from the waters to give audience." Within moments of that all of the large bonfires are extinguished, and many of the smaller perimeter torches are snuffed out. A few peripheral torches and the cookfires still burn dimly. "Behold the power of water over all! But do not fear, I do not come to harm, to maim, or to fight. I come to see your gathering at my lake." A huge shape takes form, emerging from the fog. A massive scaly turtle slips from the water onto shore. Its shell alone must measure fifteen feet across, and its overall length my be even greater, although much of it is concealed by the cloud of mist around it. In the near darkness, several small fires illuminate the scaly beast ominously. It lets out a long deep gutteral rumble, seems to sniff the air, and its large eyes move about independently taking in the camp and the party. The goatlings have all quieted. The music has stopped and the dancing as stopped. Somewhere, one of the goatlings half whispers

Goatling:
"Water spirit."

After that the hushed whispers increase among the goatlings and they seem quite excited.

"I am Akluzzar, ancient and wise. If you would come to me for wisdom, bring a sacrifice and receive my blessings!"

After being ignored by his brothers and sisters, which Quassine has no problems with because of his escapes into the Archmage Goodwin's labs, he entertains himself by doing many different things from cleaning his clothing, cleaning his group's campsite, meditating, helping the goatlings in an attempts to improve diplomacy, and joins in with the Circle Dance of the Elements by using the Kata of the Four Winds to the rhythm of the music. In addition, he joins in the Battle Dance with rhythmic form of slow martial arts (aka Tai Chi). If the angry goatlings punch him during the dance, he simply ignores it and continues. After all, this is what happens during training to build up endurance and pain tolerance (like Kyokushin).

When Xanya, brought out the ring to examine it further, Quassine was already fully engaged with the festivities and was basically no longer interested in the ring.

When the water spirit comes out, he turns to look at the water spirit but does nothing aggressive. Just like other Brothers and Sisters, Quassine says to himself, "What does this sacrifice involve?"

Xanya is ecstatic that the dragon turtle will help them and she is nearly jumping for joy on Cryxial's back as she responds telepathically.

"You will help us? That is so great. I do not have a picture of neither Kao Lor nor the monastery. Maks was drawing a picture of Goodwin earlier though, it isn't an exact likeness of course, but I think it's quite nice." She points towards the drawing. "Maybe Jovar will be able to show you images? Though sadly he is not here now. He went downriver to the goatling villages apparently. What resources do you need us to get in order to figure these things out? Do you know where to find such things? Hopefully we'll be able to accomplish the task of getting these things for you, but we need to know where and for what to look. Is it something nearby? Or maybe you can help us get where it is in order to work to collect it?


Xanya:

"I will be willing to lend some aid begrudgingly, because your plight is tugs at the heartstrings. I don't know who Jovar is, and although I have seen the painting and it is quite admirable. A painting on a rock of some wizard missing for thousands of years is hardly a lead. Its possible the resemblance may be enough for divination purposes. The spells I plan to cast are very powerful, and the components I need are things I will have to purchase from many places. I will need a sizable amount of coin, gems and valuables to acquire the needed rare components. You must understand as a practitioner yourself, as I note the glowing rune on you. Am I right in my assessement?"

"As for being human, I only desire this because I am a hybrid of my former self and my parts are made up of both races. The failed process of turning me into an Illithid made me weak for I was once a physically strong warrior. Archmage Goodwin trained me to counter my weaknesses into strengths but part of me still wants to be human to end my frailty, my sensitivity to light, and have more pleasant features. However, I must admit, I do enjoy the qualities that come from the Illithids such as great intellect, seeing in the darkness further than most, and some of the other Illithid strengths. So I guess I do like being a hybrid but what really bothers me the most is my sensitivity to light, my appearance, and maybe my frailty?"

"Ok, enough talk, we'll honor your wish Golden Ram. Let's party!" Xanya rides Cryxial off towards Simon and throws herself off her mount towards the Wyvaran. She clings to him and dance, moves around in tune with the music, using his body as a poledancer would a pole. "Let me feel you" She purrs as she undulates her body against his and swings herself around.

"I dwell in the lake, you should be able to find me here at times, although as a spirit, I am not always here..."

Xanya cheers. "Yay, go Quassine! More comfort is always nice." She strokes Simon's body as they walk, trying to find places that he enjoys being touched. She is quite acrobatic and adept at riding so she has no trouble moving about to reach where she wants.

Once they find Quassine she shouts out. "Hey Quassine, come join us, it's time for the real party to start." She shouts and waves enthusiastically.

A bit later Xanya asks Simon. "So, what is the relationship between your people and dragon turtles? Will you be as big as him one day?"


Day 3 - Morning

The night comes as the ceremony dies down. Goatlings move in the late night to clean up the camp. Those of you who have been working on goatling understand some of the basics. They are excited about the water spirit. Some goatlings stand watch and patrol the camp as the night passes. The fires burn lower, but some are kept going. Perimeter watch torches are also kept alive. Among your groups, most of you settle into the tents they loaned you for the evening. It is your choice to post a watch.

The night goes uneventfully, some of you have trouble sleeping given the turbulent day. For some the trauma of combat and death is hard to push from the mind. For many if may have been the first time they have to draw blood or fight for their lives. The hardship of the wilderness has tired the body even if the mind is racing. Wild dreams or even nightmares awaken many of you. You feel somewhat safer in the huge camp and more secure in the 'comfort' of the goatling hide structures (think teepee).

Other than that, the night passes uneventfully and the morning of your third day arrives. The sun greets you and begins to warm the chilly alpine air. Once again you are thankful for the shelters that protect you from what could have been a dangerous night exposed to chilly temperatures. The goatling camp stirs as they waken and begin to prepare meals and take down some of the campsite. It seems clear that they do not intend to stay here long. The large tent of Golden Ram is still up and before long there is activity there. It seems that they are preparing the tent for a meeting, hopefully it is the one that many of you have been hoping to attend. After a morning meal, several goatlings go to the various tents and inform the participants that they are welcome to come and seek counsel with Golden Ram. He doesn't want a large contingent of people in there as it is difficult to focus on individual needs, so he will keep it small. Also the tent is not that big.

Xanya suggests they keep up a guard routine through the night, just to get in the habit. She'll take the morning as usual, even though it isn't strictly needed since the tent protects against the sun.

She goes to wake the others when it is time. "So, today we meet with Golden Ram. I think it might be a good idea to plan some beforehand, what we want to do, where we want to go and what we want to talk to them about. Helping them would be really nice. But I have no idea how to make the humans or dwarves stop. The goatlings have already both talked and made treaties to them. Will they listen more to a bunch of monsters? I think we should travel further downriver and look for missions with rewards so we can pay what the turtle needs to find Godwin."

His life's work was making us good people not just so we can be a task force to go find him when something happens, but to help the people of the world. You don't have to go if you don't want to, but I'm staying to help these people."

Simon is resolute as he cleans himself and prepares to go to the audience.

"Okay, but what are you going to do to help them? They already have treaties with their neighbors. What difference will one or two more people make? We could come with suggestions to them for how to deal with their neighbors, but I'm not sure actually being there will help much. For example we could suggest to them to build walls, forts, roads and the like to clearly indicate where their territory lies. Then it wouldn't be as easy for the dwarves and humans to encroach on their lands while still keeping the treaty. Then they could even still keep their lands wild and untamed within the perimeter if they so chose. They could rotate who served at the border, as an alternative challenge to facing the spirits up here perhaps? I do want to help them, but I think they might be just as well if not better served by good ideas rather than us remaining here. If we give them the right ideas we wouldn't have to." Xanya readies herself for the day, prepeares another extract of comprehend languages and summons Cryxial.

Day 2 - Evening

Simon sees Quassine helping the goatlings clean up which he tells Xanya where he is. At which time, Xanya shouts out to Quassine to retire to the tent. Quassine smirks and waves back, excuses himself from helping the goatlings, and follows the group to the tent. At which time, he casts Prestidigitation on everyone before moving in the tent for the nightly group sensual fun.

Day 3 - Morning

After stretching, meditating, cleaning up the camp, and cleaning themselves up for the day, the group discusses the above Day 3 posts.

Quassine nods, "I agree that Simon and you should talk to the Golden Ram with you leading the conversation with Simon assisting. Just remember not to become impatient and/or frustrated because nothing will get done. As for me, I want to help the Goatlings and it sounds like we should start with the treaty between the goatlings, the Dwarves, and Humans. Ten thousand years ago, it would definitely be a risk for us to interact with the Dwarves and Humans but maybe things are different now?" Quassine nods ... "Of course it could also be worse? In addition, the dwarves and humans may have more ways for us to gain wealth. They, the Dwarves and Humans, may also have more information leads in finding Archmage Goodwin? And as we head to speak to the Dwarven and Human communities, we can always search for ways to gain wealth." Quassine pauses, "As for the perimeter wall, that is a good idea but the goatlings may look at that as a scar on their lands since they are so in tuned with nature. However, it wouldn't hurt to still suggest it?"

"I don't know about you, but if we suggest something to them, I intend to help the accomplish it. I can't just do something like this and then not follow through with it. These guys don't even have iron down yet. I'm not sure what if anything we come up with they'll be able to accomplish. I really want to help them settle their treaty with the others. I think if we can get the humans and dwarves to see thing their way, they wouldn't just leave the goatlings be, but they might accept us better as well. And if that happens, we're a step closer to getting the stuff for the turtle to find Goodwin."

Quassine shakes his head no, "I want to accomplish the proverbial "kill two birds with one stone" by speaking to the dwarves and humans regarding the treaty or treaties. Building a wall, a fortress, or embassy may incite the humanoids into proactive aggression. And while we are speaking to the dwarves and humans regarding the treaty or treaties, we can also inquire about Archmage Goodwin and earn some wealth on the way. Perhaps earn some wealth in the humanoid town or towns? My hybrid blood does not allow for idle time and promotes multi-tasking. Only my martial art meditation keeps me from over doing it."


Day 3 - Mid Morning

While some/all of you go to meet with Golden Ram, the goatlings are disassembling the camp and they come to remove your loaned tent. They seem to feel sorry for taking it away, but you realize the large tee-pee style tents must represent quite a bit in the way of labor, effort and resources to create.

Just before the meeting with the goatlings Jovar appears.

Jovar arrives to update everyone on the status of Tolhemia and her group. He flew through the night to arrive here.

"Greetings friends. Tolhemia has established a temporary home in one of the villages of the goatlings. They are taking up residence there and sending envoys to parley with the Dwarven Thain who runs the lakeside cliff fort that borders the goatling lands. The dwarves are in charge of this fortified town that is a joint interest of the human and dwarven kingdoms. Due to the large mining and logging resources, the two races have pooled their efforts to keep the area safe. A significant halfling population is employed in the logging industry at the lake front so say our scouting attempts. Gnomes also make up a small population. There are few if any elves seen. If discussions go well with the Thain, they will see if they can move to the fort town itself and use it as their next stepping stone before moving further. The goal being to learn enough of the world to make intelligent choices about where to begin the search for Goodwin. Tolhemia wishes to communicate her effort will be twofold. One, to seek out divination magics that will reveal where Goodwin is. Two, to strengthen in power, knowledge and wealth to afford the divination, or to master such magics ourselves. With extra strength and power, we can secure Goodwin's rescue. If the Thain rebuffs our efforts to peaceably join their town, they will remain with the Goatlings and seek a method to enter the civilized nations elsewhere. Several groups have split from Tolhemia's and are fanning out to attempt to explore into other lands. If you have messages you wish to relay to Tolhemia or other groups let me know. I see that many are still here at the lake."

Day 3 - Late Morning
The initial group discussion seems to be winding up at the main tent. Those who wish to hold smaller meetings or even one on one are encouraged to visit. The campsite itself is being restored to a condition you can scarcely believe housed over a hundred individuals the night before. The campfires are extinguised, the ashes scattered, large rocks returned to their orginal spots. All refuse and garbage is picked up. Tents are all packed away aside from Golden Ram's tent and the goatlings are busy at work, making sure the beach looked unspoiled.

Day 3 - Mid Morning

Quassine humbily bows high to Jovar, "Thank you Jovar, is Tolhemia's camp in the main goatling camp?"

Quassine is hanging back a little inside the Golden Ram's Tent to speak to him briefly.


Jovar replies "Tolhemia has taken up temporary residence in the goatling village in the lands south of here, in the rugged hills the goatlings call home. These lands are just northwest of the lands of the dwarves. "

Quassine you wait for the large group to filter out and ask Golden Ram a question before other groups or individuals will enter for talks.

After requesting a later meeting in their village, Quassine exits the Golden Ram council's tent and will meet up with them in their village. Quassine then looks for his group mates, Xanya, Simon, Kiki, and Card (If he is still with us?).

Once they are out of the the common tent Xanya meets up with the others. She is quite happy that she was able to suggest something useful to Golden Ram.. "So, what are we doing now? Are we going with them to the village? Are we going to help them with management of taxes and fining of trespassers? I guess that in order to get further to civilized lands we would have to pass close to their lands at least. If we go with them we could maybe get some supplies. I could use some armor and a saddle for Cryxial would be awesome. Not sure if they have such gear though. Maybe Tolleima has also learned something from the dwarves? What do you guys think? There is also the matter of how we deal with humans, dwarves and other races. I got disguising extracts, but I haven't been able to make them work for others than myself yet. None of us would blend in very well to society as we knew it back in the day."

Since no one answers immediately Xanya gets bored. Suddenly she remembers the ring and she tries out the command word to see what might happen.

At some point Xanya remembers that she never got to ask the elders of they had heard some stories or something about a monastery nearby. She'll seek them out to inquire about that while they travel down the mountain. She'll also ask Golden Ram if they can get some supplies to help, if they have or are able to make something like saddle for Cryxial. Some armor might also be nice, oh yeah and clothes.

Xanya twists the ring on her finger and issues the command word, speaking it correctly. A form appears with a wink and stands there looking around.

It appears roughly the same size as Xanya and looks like some sort of earth creature. It looks around briefly and seems a bit surprised. It says something to Xanya, but it is incomprehensible. Grinning, it coughs up a pebble and sets it on Xanya's head, then laughs about it.


Xanya you questions the elders about a monastery, but none of them are aware of any ancient monastery. They advise that 10,000 years is a long time and such things might be lost to time. They could attempts some divinations if given a few days to prepare.

Golden Ram has pledged some basic supplies to all the groups, clothing, some survival gear and some basic tools, an herbal kit, and leather goods like bags, straps, skins, blankets and the like. They don't have any saddles. Something like that could be crafted, but it would take considerable time, and is not something any of their leather crafters has ever attempted.


Day 3 - Afternoon

The final group of goatlings makes there way from the lake side. The beach looks as though no one had been there. If you inspect closely, sure some stones look disturbed or some logs moved, but after wind, rain and a season passes, no one would be the wiser that over a hundred people had camped here.

The large group makes their way south along the river. They travel slowly as they are carrying the large drums, the huge horns, as well as many tents and the poles are long and unwieldy. The river is rushing quickly and as you reach the gap between the mountains and peer down below the sight is breathtaking. You look out over the rugged hills and wooded canyons. You can see for many many miles. The river sparkles and can be seen winding through the highlands below. The group continues and the elevation drops sharply. Near the river the forest is still rather thick and as the sun descends in the west the shadows kick up and the forest grows dim. The group talks and chats the trip which takes several hours. Soon, they veer off from the river following a smaller tributary to the east. You are told the village is not far now.

Quassine quickly finds Xanya, Simon, and the rest of the group after leaving the Golden Ram tent.

Quassine nods and replies to Xanya, "I am ready to go to the goatling village and humbly gather our donated supplies. There, I will speak to the Golden Ram since he appears to be ready for the short journey back to the goatling village and I didn't want to be a burden on him. As for the Dwarves and Humans, I think we should learn how to deal with them whether through disguise which we can test out your extracts with the rest of us, or through the white flag approach, or maybe some other way? The Dwarves and Humans will have the metal and specialized gear we need which the goatlings will most likely not have. In addition, I am sure they will have quests for us to go on to either help us convince them not to encroach on goatling land because of increased rapport with their communities, or at the very least gather the treasure we need for hopefully the Water Spirit’s assistance. Regardless, I will follow the group’s path after we get our supplies from the goatling village unless it descends into the path of evil or way off course."

Quassine sees the Earth Memphit like creature appear and thinks to himself, "Well, that has nothing to do with Xanya or Simon's powers of summoning their creatures." Then makes a mental note for the future.

I couldn't go directly to the Deviant Art page, my home proxy states it is a bad site to go to ... lol. So I had to do a Google search and was able to view it.

Day 3 - Afternoon

Quassine looks at the once camp site and sees what he expected from a creature in tuned with nature just like his old Barbarian village was even though they were heavily working with steel. Somehow Quassine's people learned how to both work with steel and still get along with nature, "I guess that happens when religiously motivated cultures still worship nature gods."

On the path to the village, [b]"Wow, the scenery is absolutely breath taking. It is unfortunate my evil brethren want to take this all away by finding out how to snuff the star that gives the planet light which I believe Archmage Goodwin called it The Burning Mother? I may have the Illithid's sensitivity to light but I do not agree with their plans of darkness because all of this would go away. At least thus far, 10,000 years later, they have yet to succeed in snuffing out The Burning Mother."[b]

He pats it on its head and then points to himself.

The brown earthy things grumbles when he gets pat on the head. He snarls a bit and points a finger at Simon, but then looks at Xanya and does nothing. "Si-Monn, Klk'brck mkoc Rvk'brc Wc'krkrkkr"
