Aww this is what I get for not waiting until I hit level 6 and get my at-will super-high-DC disguise ability...
EDIT: Also *strongly* considering taking Songspell at 5 instead of 6 (bumping SSIntimidate), because daaaang that feat would be so useful (aside from letting me, at level 7, concentrate on maintaining three different illusion spells per turn)

Ooh! So I read Blood of Shadows, and there's a cool new style feat that Champawat might like. The first part is just okay, and requires two otherwise-pointless feats (Weapon Focus and Vital Strike), but it does have a bit of cool use.
The second part, however, is amazing (and you might be able to get it at 8 with a MoMS cheese dip). Basically, every AoO is damage AND a dirty trick AND a steal attempt.

We can get through that door.
It's not easy, and it *might* not work. However, there are several possibilities:
1. Disable device. Champawat gets +14 (his Investigator Trapfinding gives +2 to all disable checks). He can probably be reasonably aided by one other rogue; Lucina would be a better choice, being far stealthier than Tavros, and boosts to +16. Guidance gives +17. Taking 20 (which takes 2 minutes to open a lock, easily within the duration of Makoto's invisibility) requires a 3-6 on Champ's inspiration roll. If it's allowed (it would burn every round of performance for the day), Makoto's Inspire Competence could boost to a +19, requiring a 1-6 on the inspiration roll, and meaning an auto-success against a standard superior lock.
2. Disable device, with help from Alree An. I don't know how far we are from town, but if she can pick up a scroll of Heroism or masterwork thieves' tools, we're good. She can also cast dimension door, though that could get us into trouble.
3. Look through keyhole? If there's line-of-sight through the keyhole of the lock (more likely with old-fashioned locks), Teniel can summon an unseen servant on the other side; if it's a deadbolt, the servant can open the door from the other side.
4. Come back later (eh). At higher levels, we get teleports, bonuses, etc.

I posted a new system in the Discussion thread of the Main Thread regarding cannibalizing magic items to feed your Signature Item. Anyone interested, I appreciate feedback or questions.

Just a heads up, I'm going to be out of town from tomorrow through Tuesday or Wednesday. Bot me as necessary.

It's sort of been a long time coming... but with my new workload, I've found that I have nearly no time for Paizo at all. As you've probably noticed, my posts have fallen both in count and quality... and I've come to realize I cannot keep up with the majority of my games - whether because they move too quickly, or because I completely lack the inspiration.
Ultimately, I've decided to drop out of nearly all of my campaigns for now. Sorry for any trouble this causes. I can stick around and do an inadequate job of trying to see my way out, or you can feel free to bot my character.

Okay. Time for some numbers-gaming! Teleportation spells (including dimension door) can bring items up to their holders' maximum load.
Teniel can't pick up a 3'x3' crate easily, but he can fork his arm under it—if someone takes the other side (or if anyone has a way to glue/tie a stack of crates together) he can probably contribute.
Tavros can take a lot of crates—around 1000 lb or so, though he's probably limited to a 2x2x3 crate stack of boxes by anatomy. Together, the party can lift well over a ton, though we could probably only get about ten more crates hoisted into the air between us.
* * *
So we've got three paths of action, as I see it.
1) Somehow stick or tie all the crates together, lift, and teleport.
2) Transfer eggs to a smaller number of crates—and do it *fast*
3) Get what eggs we can now, tag the rest of the crates (on the inside) for tracking with an arcane mark, then build a legal case against smuggling with the evidence we have. Would require knowledge of local laws and some other crazy times, we're about to testify against some pirates in court as-is.
Would be fine discussing these or other plans in-character.

Just to doublecheck... didn't we get a magic bag? Or was that outside of our price range? Because the magic bag we had intended to get to alleviate the fact that we knew we'd be transporting a lot of stuff would ahve really helped here.
Dalang Teniel |
I believe that was on our "to craft" list, but somewhat far down

Sorry for the delay, lots of work. Actions depend on what sort of weaponry the enemy is using!
Dalang Teniel |
Yay! I am excited for Teniel to berate Champawat for accidentally murdering a possible police officer. Or possibly just cut off the guy's finger and buy him a Reincarnate spell if he turns out to be a good dude and also dead.
Makoto 'Maks' Kasumi |
There's like a 98% chance based on dialogue that they're the guards of the building. Circumstances bring that to like 99%.
Dalang Teniel |
Well this is still less than ideal, considering that we're about to become character witnesses in court, and (while they probably can't see us through the darkness), as soon as we kill someone we go from "liberators of kidnapped intelligent babies" to "trespassing assassins" in any legal case we might try to build to recover the rest of the eggs.
Makoto 'Maks' Kasumi |
That only works in gameplay

am here.
Tavros |
Still here. Though IIRC, Tavros was going to be in the first group to try to teleport out of there.
Dalang Teniel |
Here as well, though Teniel was about to potentially yell at Champawat for murdering a dude.

That's okay. I've been practicing.
