So sorry I've been slow guys - I've been attempting to check at least, but work just got SUPER busy for me, and I've been working late hours.

I'll try to keep up more. Luckily, Azami's mind is really wrapped around several other things right now, so all those failed rolls works out.

I forget, are we taking averages for HP or rolling?

Is the leveling up effective immediately? It means a new spell level, that I assume will be available the next morning, but are the other benefits available now(feat, hp, BAB)? Wondering if I should update the character sheet now or the next day.

@Yohei: either one, your pick.

@Tokine: as far as I'm concerned, as soon as your character sheet is updated, all the new bonuses, etc. take effect. Play it in fluff however you wish, i.e. wait until after a meditation session or a night's sleep or however. I like giving folks flexibility in this regard.

The only rule I have is if you're in the middle of combat, to at least finish it out. :-)

Leveled up. Took my average. Not much changed for Yohei this level. Took Improved Initiative for my feat as it never hurts to have more Init!

All of this combat going on is making me want to fight something. I should probably punch the Captain.

Hahahaa, being the kind of guy he is the Captain would probably grin, fight back, then file the whole thing away as a training exercise and take you out for sake. :-)

I am really enjoying the game and everyone's input. Cant' say it enough.

I wanted to let you guys know two exciting things. My gaming group (which really includes folk in multiple states) hosts a big event every year at Gen Con with great PCs and fun players. Look into The Devil In Me if you're going to Gen Con. Our very own DRA is running one of our tables and a few awesome locations, so you can shake hands in real life and then get killed. Not in real life.

Also, my first real publication was released last year and sold four printings, and it is now on the Jon Brazer list for nomination for the Ennies. Keep your fingers crossed and throw some of my beasties at your friends so they get the word out! Even just being nominated would get me longer looks from more publishers. Very exciting!

A big +1 to all of the above! I'm super psyched to be part of TDIM. It will be capital-E Epic. And you know I don't mess around when sh!t gets Epic. :-p

I don't imagine I need to say this, but I want to throw out that I am not remotely offended by anyone's roleplay or posts. Imuri defends his efficacy in character only. I get that his ideas are not everyone's ideas, much like the Scorpion of l5r, which serve as a lot of inspiration for what I am writing about clan Shoto.

Shoto - Good to know, although I assumed that character conflict was obviously not a problem for you. *grins* And it obviously isn't a problem for me either. Nothing personal in this at all - I'm loving how you are playing Shoto.

MY problem is I usually play much more vocal, charismatic characters, so the urge to give Shoto IC what-for is BURNING INSIDE ME. :) But Azami wouldn't do that. She seethes on the /inside/ in her little ball of anger.

I could actually see Shoto and Azami actually getting along /very/ well, given time and if they can get past their personal hang-ups (...ok, if Azami can get past her hang ups and if Shoto would stop lecturing her.)

I would point out that she isn't a /young/ ronin. She's older than Imuri, and would appear rather battle-hardened.

Oh, that was a nice bit of oneupmanship!:-) Had to just look up what the Pennsic War was....Sweet. Are you participating...what events? It would be great to see some pictures from it. Looks like they have a great turnout.

I would consider Gen Con too, but will be going to Hawaii just the week after. ;-)

*laughs* I don't know - I think GenCon sorta is a modern Pennsic War in a way. I don't think it's oneupsmanship - just two different Cons. Either way, we're surrounded by my favorite people - geeks in costumes!

I'll be taking part in the dance community and performances, as well as other classes. Mainly, it's sort of a two week jam session/performance/party of music, costume, dance and improvisational acting for me. I'm not a fighter.

This will be my first time going for the full two weeks, and it's a milestone year, so more people than usual. Fiance and I are treating it like a mini honeymoon. I will totally try to post a link to photos.

Yeah, perhaps I should give a head's up on that stuff too:

DRA, if you don't mind, I'd like to add the Crossblooded archetype to Kyras's sorcerer level, adding in the Primal (which is the Wildblooded version of Elemental) bloodline. The net of this is that Kyras would gain another +1 damage per damage dice, gain Burning Hands as a bonus spell, lose Burning Hands as a chosen spell, lose Mage Armor as a bonus spell, gain a -2 to Will, and lose Mirror Image as a chosen spell.

I think it works well, as it demonstrates the pull between the Dragon and Kyras.

What do you think?

He's eventually going to take Eldritch Heritage (Abyssal) for the Strength bonuses as well. He's bloodline-tastic!

LOL, yeah! That works for me. Awesome way to further wed your mechanics to the character concept. I think it's great!
