Game Master Tare

Who would have thought babysitting a noble's kid would get this complicated... they aren't paying me enough for this.

I'll be posting map links and side info here so as not to clutter up the rp or combat that happens, if you have questions feel free to ask, don't assume a monster is exactly what the book says if you see one as well... I like to tweak with things a lot and above all please have fun!

Hi, all! Robert checking in. I look forward to gaming with you all. This is my first pbp on these boards, so I appreciate guidance if I go astray.

the cleric and monks characters are done basically I approved them :) just be patient and they'll get posted on here... probably by tomorrow

(Male Daytona 500 DM / 12)

Dotting.....

(Male Human Monk (Master of the Four Winds) 2)

This is the profile for Jonasty's monk.

Had a post for the in game but just read your email Tare and I am adjusting what I was gonna write. Should have something up soon.

Pardon my ignorance here... but what does it mean when you are dotting here in the forums? I have never gm'd a forum campaign before now.

(Male Daytona 500 DM / 12)

Once you post in a thread it adds a dot in the view summary. Makes it easy to pick out the threads you are posting in because they have a dot beside them.

Ah, I see... thanks for explaining it.

Just dropping in.

alright due to my friend not responding to anything I message her right now until she does the sorceress will just be an npc... at least until my friend gets back to me or someone else comes along willing to take the pregenerated role.

My finger already went numb because of constantly refreshing the gameplay thread - you guys are not posting during weekends?

I dont have a clue I keep checking back and waiting for them to reply before I put more in... its all I can really do :/

C'mon folks! My slightly disturbed rogue is craving for adventure! :)

I'm patiently(?) waiting as well. Though now I realize that my last post didn't go under the alias.

(Male Daytona 500 DM / 12)

I'm away on holiday, but will post soon.

(Male Human Monk (Master of the Four Winds) 2)

Generally I don't post on the weekends but in this particular case I thought Nithause's post was a catch all for the group at the girls words

Just a thought, between my posts I like to give every current player a chance to post, if you have nothing to add... for example if another character covered what you planned to add you can be as simple as post "Skip" Or if I have a check for you to make, do that roll and nothing else... I just don't want to feel like I am making others lose a chance at input.

I have to agree with both of you - sometimes it's good to wait for others to post (because of different time zones/work/school schedule etc.) but just like in this case - one question about someone's identity is quite enough for the one to answer..

But of course it depends mostly on activity of players..

I noticed that on other PbP threads GM usually sets a maximum time between posts - like 12-16 hours between your last post or the next turn happens.. Something to think of GM Tare :)

the problem with using html code is that sometimes I post from my phone which makes it harder to use it... my smart phone is not very smart.

(Male Human Monk (Master of the Four Winds) 2)

Noted Tare. Going forward if I don't have anything significant to add and a roll is not required I will post something to at least signify that I'm ready to "move on".

(Male Human Monk (Master of the Four Winds) 2)

Forgot to roll for wealth. 1d6 ⇒ 2

So 20 gp for shopping. Not expecting to get too much being a monk so mostly just walking around money.

alrighty, I am not to picky... waiting on the druid to respond now

Sorry you all wound up waiting for such a small post.

that sense motive may be high but its rolled directly from the sheet I have for warden... yes warden has his own sheet for a good reason.

(Male Half-Elf Rogue)

Hmm 28 sense motive.. No one from our party could roll that high

this is true, however I did roll it random just in case warden lied poorly, it was the fair thing to do, one thing I do try to do is if something depends on a roll like that I will make it cause there is always cases where people do it poorly

after thought if you roll a 20 on a skillcheck I'll offer a 5 bonus to the total to help for situations like this

No worries about the level on the DC. I saw in the discussion thread we'd need a Sense Motive roll and rolled for it before seeing how high it was. As a player, it's nice to see that some NPCs can get the drop on our shiny new first level characters.

Tare, are our PCs aware of the living ghosts and situation in Manifest?

Yes.

A quick question for Scranford. I noticed that when the characters were gathered at Highsmith's, Thadeus never mentioned his name. Did he spend the entire week on the road being the mystery cleric?

That wasn't intentional. I probably just forgot. We can assume it came up somewhere.

(but he is still the mystery cleric *eyeshift* lol)

On a serious note, I tried to find a single map on its own of the ghostwalk world but I could not so in the next week or so I will try to get the one I have scanned and post a link here for reference... if anyone finds one before then or can do it themselves I would be eternally grateful as I don't often get access to scanners.

I think I can get you a world map in a few minutes.

I hope this is the map you were looking for:

Ghostwalk World Map by Robertness, on Flickr

perfect thats exactly the map I was looking for

I may be able to get it at higher resolution if you need it. Just let me know.

Oh, who am I kidding? Of course we want the high res version.

Though it doesn't look like Flickr let me post the full sized image...

I really hate to push things forward without giving everyone a chance to post, is everyone else just letting robert sum this turn up?

(Male Human Monk (Master of the Four Winds) 2)

For myself yeah. Since he's the only one who noticed anything out of the ordinary, I didn't have much to add. Wasn't going to point out how weird she was acting lol.

The funny thing is that Thadeus is the one who noticed something. I just worked off the public post.

Push it Tare! Push it hard.

Robertness did it with really nice feminine touch so yeah.

As I wrote that I kept asking myself, "Is this going to get Lyra's dedicated bodyguard (Sylthain) coming down on Nai like a ton of bricks?" Still not too late for him to post a "keep your hands off her" response.

(Male Human Monk (Master of the Four Winds) 2)

Lol, I think it might become that at a certain point. Right now he's still a little sullen at the task he's been set and is fine with Lyra getting into her own trouble.

Sorry work dumped hours on me, I will make a post in a couple hours.

Don't think it's going to have an impact, but this weekend is going to be a little weird for me. I may not be around to post every day until Monday or so.

I think you misunderstood my post robert

Lyra's player has started making the alias for her character she said she would try to make a post today

Welcome, Lyra's player! Glad to have you with us. (And I might be able to use your name one of these days.)

(Male Half-Elf Rogue)

I just want to tell you guys that I might be offline for the next 4-5 days..

sorry for long gaps... in the process of moving and what not

I've got a trade show all this week. Will probably be able to post most evenings after the show, but don't let me slow things down. Post for me when necessary or convenient.
