Vasayo |
Vasayo draws his sword with his right hand, keeping the bow in his left. With a few quick steps he is behind a cockatrice one of his comrades is attacking and tries to backstab it.
Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (19) + 5 + (2) = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (4, 1) = 9

Between Grith's powerful swing and Vasayo's well placed strike, they manage to kill the cockatrice attacking them.
2 Down.
Dexterity Save, DC 12: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

One of the crafty fowl manages to dodge two different spells of Sacred Flame, but takes an arrow from Alton.
Milo is up.

Dervel Diamonddew |
"oh, arrows work better..."
Dervel retrieves his longbow from his shoulder, nocks and releases an arrow.
Arrow : 1d20 + 4 + 1d4 ⇒ (12) + 4 + (1) = 17
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
wicked_raygun |
I'm going to go ahead and DMPC, Milo here.
Milo attacks with his handaxes and seriously wounds one of the squawking beasts.
Handaxe 1: 1d20 + 4 + 1d4 ⇒ (5) + 4 + (4) = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Handaxe 2: 1d20 + 4 + 1d4 ⇒ (13) + 4 + (3) = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
But then the two Cockatrices attack him again.
Bite A: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Bear in mind there's no confirmation roll. So I just add a 1d4 to the damage
Crit Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Constitution Saving Throw: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (4) = 12
Bite B: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Milo resists being turned into stone again. But he took 8 damage. He then managed to dodge the second bite. And then an arrow from Derval finished the creature off.
Only 1 chicken is left. And he's attacking Milo. Everyone but Derval can go now.
Alton Underbough |
Alton takes aim at the nearest cockatrice and let's fly with a well-aimed arrow.
How do you like that, you big chicken, eh?
Shortbow Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Vasayo |
With a swift step Vasayo positions himself and attacks the last creature.
Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (10) + 5 + (4) = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 3 + (1, 6) = 16
Rasp the Rogue |
The heroes fire arrows, and rush the final cockatrice, ending it's life.
Combat over. Congratulations. None of you turned to stone.
From the overturned cart you hear a small voice. "H-hello. Is - Is the bad chickens gone?"
-Posted with Wayfinder
Edit: Almost forgot to mention. Those who fired arrows can recover half of them with a minute of searching.
Alton Underbough |
Alton points his bow at the cart. Who is that in there? Answer me, eh?
Alton will take the minute to find arrows after the interaction is resolved

The squeaky voice answers back, "I'm Hug-hug. Are - are you going to hurt me?"

"Uh, I'm not really hungry," he says. He sounds a bit confused by the question.

Vasayo |
Without a word Vasayo has vanished into the shadows. He has quietly sheathed his sword and is now pointing an arrow at the cart from his hiding place.

Randal Evenwood |
Randal strides into the room looking pleased with himself. " What manner of creature are you? Are you hurt? " he asks, addressing the overturned cart.
He also takes a moment to look at each of his allies looking for wounds.
Did anyone get hurt in that combat? I see Milo took 8... Griff took 3 points? Vasayo is still injured from before?
Rasp the Rogue |
"I'm a goblin. And an adventurer! " he says proudly. "I hid when the bad chickens started turning my friends into rocks."

Vasayo |
Having always been a cautious one, Vasayo tries to get a hint if the creature is lying by carefully listening to the tone of its voice and observing its every move once he is able to see it.
Insight : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Rasp the Rogue |
Vasayo can't be sure if Hug-hug is lying or telling the truth. Grith heaves the cart over and finds a goblin blinking at him.
"My saviors, " he shouts in his squeaky voice. He then rushes over to Grith and gives him a big hug.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou..." he says over and over in a rapid fire way.

Rasp the Rogue |
Hug-hug smiles, stops hugging Grith and says, "Yes! I found treasure. Looky."
He then shows you a single copper piece, which he gives to Grith. "Here, you can have it. "
"We've been here about an hour. We heard the chickens and got hungry. But they were really tough. You must be very strong."

Vasayo |
The one arrow Vasayo shot broke in half when the hit creature dropped dead. Since the goblin doesn't seem to pose any real threat, Vasayo steps out of the shadows.
"One hour you say? Tell us, which rooms did you scout and what will await us there?"

Randal Evenwood |
Randal spends a little time praying for healing and then holds his holy symbol aloft.
Milo, Griff and Vasayo find their wounds closing and bruises fading.
I'm using channel divinity: Preserve life. I get to spread 15 HP around.
Milo gets 8, Griff 2, and Vasayo 5
Vasayo |
Vasayo sighs. He didn't really expect to get much out of the goblin, but was sure hoping for a little more. At least their own troupe had fared better in here then the goblins, for now that is.
"Who lead your group and are there going to come more goblins or is there another group like your's?"
-Posted with Wayfinder
Rasp the Rogue |
"No. No more gobblins. Yellow-tooth led us because he was the strongest. But he's a statue now," Hug-hug says while pointing out one of the petrified goblins.
"But you're the strongest so now you lead. I'm so happy to be part of a new tribe!" he rushes over to hug Vasayo.

"Um, I can see in the dark. And, and, and I can whistle. Watch."

Area 4 In the southwest corner of the cavern you find a mine shaft with the name Braumordo written in Dwarvish script.
You stand at the top of a 10 foot wide shaft of uncertain depth. Dangling above it from the ceiling is a rickety lift - a wooden framework with no walls and a floor made of dusty planks - fastened to a system of frayed ropes, iron pulleys, and stone counterweights.

Vasayo |
"Does anyone want to try this thing out?" Vasayo asks, pointing at the lift with the arrow in his right hand. "I'd really prefer to find another way down"
Or finish exploring this level of the mines first.
Dervel Diamonddew |
"May the blessings of your gods go with you, Hughug, but I don't like heights myself..."
Dervel looks away, a little ashamed at himself, torn at the thoughts that perhaps this goblin is a good soul.
wicked_raygun |
Looks like no other volunteers.
After a few moments, Hug-hug begins to move the rope that lowers the lift. He hums happily as he does so. You can hear his joyful, trusting humming reverberating all the way down the shaft.
Eventually the rope goes taut.
"Okay!" you can hear faintly. "I'm at the bottom! Hey! There's something glowing down here. Should I touch it?"
Vasayo |
Brave little brat, Vasayo thinks.
"If it looks safe, why not? Anything else you can see?"
He leans over the edge and tries to observe the goblin down the shaft.

Dervel Diamonddew |
"Can you give us more detail before you touch it? What colour is it? Where is it? Is it moving at all?"
Rasp the Rogue |
"It's a skeleton holding a glowing sword, " you hear. "I'll come up now."
Eventually, you notice the rope of the lift move once again, and you hear Hug-hug's joyful humming again. Finally he's at the top.
"Hello, masters. That was fun. Can I go again? "
