Well yeah their is that, but how is that fun? xP
Not everyone can afford magical healing, but yeah sense witches and shamans both have that healing hex their is no limit to healing anymore, at least once per day per person. So I'll leave that stuff up to you, I just have to find them.

Rileng will buy Ute some better clothes, Soldier's Uniform, so basically a new version of what he seems to already wear. Three potions of protection from evil, both bodyguards will get one with instructions to down it if a fight breaks out on the lord's ship. Lastly a tanglefoot bag.
That comes out to 201 gp.

You may have missed it when I posted before. Rileng is waiting on the meeting with Shelia. He sent her a letter, he has yet to get a reply. She said she has some pull with some Usher members, he was going to use that as part of his payment for his information.
What about Ute?

Hey if all you found are ritualistically murdered bodies everyday and got surrounded by a group in the middle of the night saying their going to kill you if you don't meet their demands. Talking it out seems a little suicidal, if their reasonable they'll back up and consider things after seeing they may have bite off more then they can chew. Establishing an escape route is a bare minimum. ;)
Anyways primitive types tend to have a might makes right mentality outside their own. Proving your strong is a needed foundation to interaction with them. Sadly Rileng is not built like a mountain or wields any obviously large destructive weapons. So his unassuming self has be more bloody in his displays of deadliness. Unless their real weaklings Rileng can't kill them in a single strike, with his speed and defense he can just rip them until they get wise, or he is forced to start killing in defense of his own life and his people.

Hey I am still sore about getting whipped by a trio of common thugs, so challenging is relative. Given time Rileng is strong, catch him off guard or rushed he is weak. Why do you think I invested so much on perception, both of us are smart enough to cover that huge weak spot. ;)
It's entertaining that nothing ever goes his way. The whole worlds against me dude I swear!
P.S. Druids can be tough when given time, sadly lizard man let his pride come before his caution. All those buffs at his disposal wasted.
Rileng Sulfach |
A little heads up, Rileng is angling to ally or take over the lizardfolk tribe. If he can get them all together and convince them to help him drive out the boggard and cultist that will even things out a bit. As to their food problem, not really a problem for Rileng when he can have food brought in by ship, sure the captain will not be mad about leaving and coming back with fresh supplies. Maybe weapons for the lizardfolk if they don't have enough. In the mean time they can use the abandoned village as a base and shore up it's defenses while scouting out the area for anything useful or just to get more information on the cultist.
Let me know what you think or any questions if I missed something.

I'm going to take a guess and say they have no sense of personal property and think of everything as communal. If they are in fact thieves and know better let me know.
Also am I going to have get them back on track or their just taking it easy while they can? If so what rolls do I need or it's at my own discretion?

Rileng is going to wait a day so he can change his extracts. Move the camp and set up some basic defenses.
He plans to get rid of the enemies food supplies, poison them, and cause a little discord in their ranks. While looking for their missing noble all the while. Hopefully he won't have to cut his losses and return to Magnimar.
P.S. 108 cultist and one demonic looking monster the size of a giant. Really! I'm level 7 over here, not even double digits and a skill monkey. I don't even have a spellcaster. T^T ::whimper::

Rileng is going to create the following extracts.
3rd- Fly, Tongues
2nd- Ablative Barrier, Invisibility (2), Barkskin
1st- Longarm, Expeditious Retreat, True Strike, Blurred Movement, Shield, Disguise Self
Rileng is making king's sleep and ragespittle poison. He will make and use blackfinger paste as well.
The plan is for Rileng to sneak into the cultist camp during the night. Right before he enters he is going to use ablative barrier, barkskin, tongues, and disguise self on himself. That way if he gets caught sneaking somehow or he finds a good time to show himself for a little discord making he will seem like a allied boggard. He is going to try to gather information and if he can, poison the water supply for the camp with king's sleep. The poison is slow acting and subtle enough that it should not be detected. He will spend no more then an hour in the cultist camp, due to the duration of his extracts before slipping out again.
Anything unclear or needed from me?

Why won't you let me sleep....jk, I blame myself.
I am no DM but pretty sure the CR system is designed with a party of 4 PCs in mind. Even if not I don't think anyone can beat something more then APL +3. So something with such a huge power gap normally means it's a non-combat thing. Only this set up makes it seem like non-combat is not an option. Crazy cultist and savage swamp folk.
So my reaction is to give it a cautious shot to test the waters. The only thing I really have any complaints about is Rileng not being able to have a single simple quest. Doesn't have to go smoothly all the time, but even life doesn't give you endless rabbit punches to the groin. ;P
We will see how Rileng's plans work out. It's times like these I wish I was a alchemist, a few bombs would even things up real fast. Lucky I don't have the supplies to make fused grenades. Give one each a lizardfolk with instructions to light them and run like hell. Take care of this rambo style. Now I am rambling, good night. Tomorrow fate will decide, maybe. x)
