Male Human Witch 5

Barnabus is TN in alignment, so the LG kingdom is fine with him considering the alignment of the neighbors in the marshes.

Names for the kingdom:
Vesuvius
Phoenix

No idea......

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

You seem to have a 'rise from the ashes' vibe going on. I'm not sure there's been anything here before. It could be something related to it being a 'new' land, something related to the natural untamed nature of it right now, maybe something related to Erastil since he's the patron of two of the party. Rhasa doesn't have a problem with Erastil except that she's not LG herself and she doesn't adhere to the "woman's role" that some of Erastil's faithful believe is appropriate.

I don't know what the different alignment effects are, so I'll trust your collective judgement on it.

Here is the link for the kingdom building spreadsheet with all the positions filled.

Hope this works for everyone.

Also Cal, what do you think our first month we should do? I am thinking claim another hex, build a road, farm and then something like a town commons or smith to start. Town commons gives us a focal point for the people to gather and makes them more loyal but smith provides an increase to the economy and stability of the town.

Nice work, Gorguk, thank you :)

There is a blacksmith in the party of colonists, remember, so he will be wanting to establish a forge.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Yep that is why I was thinking the blacksmith right away, but for a community sake threw in the option of the tow commons.

Glad the link worked for you.

Tough choice, but an increase to the economy would probably be best at this point in my thinking, so I would go with the smithy. The other items sound good as well (claim another hex build a road, and a farm).

This is beginning to sound like a game of Settler's of Catan.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Ok I will input the data in then. We will need some leadership rolls as well once we get there for stability, and economy checks. Do you want to do those Cal? If so they are just d20 rolls and label them each accordingly. I can add the modifiers once I see the results and place them in as well. Of course we are on hold till we actually start the building phase once we reach our capital of...???Greensward??? of ...??? Vesuvius???

You may find it tidiest to make the kingdom die rolls here rather than in the game thread...

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

That woud work well, good idea.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Yes, I can make those rolls.

I know this is a bit early, but I'm afraid that I'll forget if I wait until we get back from Oleg's.

Stability Check: 1d20 ⇒ 12, Economy Check: 1d20 ⇒ 1

Ouch on the economy roll, sorry about that.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Alright no income this month but we can make it still as long as the next couple of rolls go well.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Unsurprising that a colony still migrating to its new home generates no income!

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Well I figured that we would just get the rolls out of the way now and have it ready once we get there.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

If everything is pretty much settled then Gorguk is ready to head to the fort and start the kingdom building and exploration again as the settlers are getting going.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Ready

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

I be ready as well

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

Ready. Anything I have to do can wait until we get back to the fort.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

And... there you are :)

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Month 2 proposal...

Continue to expand land to the north and creating farms/ranches. Add a mill to the town with the proximity of the forest for usable materials.

Cost for consumption, claiming the hex, building a road, establishing a farm, and building a mill is 2+1+1+4+6=14

If you are ok with this Cal I need the stability and economy checks please. Need a 6 or higher on stability and a 4 or higher on economy.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Here are the rolls: Stability - 1d20 ⇒ 9, Economy - 1d20 ⇒ 9

Well that should be sufficient.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Thanks cal I will get those entered in then. By the way for the map, it is E6 and F5 that were claimed, roared and farmed. Next stop up to claim the mine hex and place a mine there possibly.

While we are doing this on the discussion thread, is there anywhere we want to go while on the campaign thread? Kingdom building takes 1 week a month so we could continue to explore. Perhaps prepare for the bushes encounter and head there to remove the swarms. Spellcasters prepare area of effect spells that type of thing since we know somewhat we are facing. Same with filling in the hole where the animal was caught.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Sounds like a plan, Gorguk.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

"Claimed, roared and farmed" ?? I get claimed and farmed, but what did autospell change into roared?

How do you want me to mark the claimed hexes, Megan? Perhaps a simple outline?

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

sorry that was supposed to be roaded. was in a hurry last night and never checked the post afterwards. Or it was 'roared' by means of a loud demonstration of ownership perhaps? Ok it is a stretch but trying to work with it.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Yeah, an outline would do...

2 interviews in the next couple of days. See you in a bit.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Cal, for the next month claim another hex, add another road and farm and build a butcher?

Then the month after that claim a hex, road and a mine on the gold deposit we found along with building a baker?

Should need the same roll results as we have not gained yet as we are adding territory Dan farms to cut back on our consumption.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Here's the rolls for next two months:

Month 3:
Stability: 1d20 ⇒ 17, Economy: 1d20 ⇒ 1

Another one on the economy roll, bah.

Month 4:
Stability: 1d20 ⇒ 11, Economy: 1d20 ⇒ 11

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Which hexes are claimed?

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

E4 and F4 with a farm on F4 and the mine on E4.

Yikes Cal another 1 on the roll. We will be broke soon at this rate. Will get the update shortly on the google site.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Sending updated map to Megan

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Thanks Rhasa.

Google docs sheet updated with month four finished. As long as cal doesn't roll any more ones for economy we will be ok. As it is we have only 11 build points currently but our economy and stability are doing ok. Will get a month 5 posted tomorrow for options. Thinking about a shrine to Erastil. Helps with loyalty and produces a magic item we can sell for BP.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Got the map, thank you - will add a few locations & stuff & get it up.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Cal based on the build points remaining I am thinking not doing anything but claiming a hex F3 and building a farm this time. Hopefully we make some profit this turn and can go from there.

If we generate enough income we can build a shrine next month to start getting magic items. If those items are worth 2000gp we can sell them for build points. If that works for you then we need a stability check at a 7+ and an economy check at 3+.

We will also need the same checks for the second month.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Can we claim the hex that the existing shrine is in and get the benefit without the build cost? I presume that would not be right away because we need to be adjacent to it (right?) but it's a thought.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

That is a possibility but that would have to come from Megan I believe as to what sites would allow us to get free or discounted items. I could make a guess that the shrine to Erastil would grant us either a free shrine or a discounted temple but have no way of knowing for sure.

Is the map updated as it seems to be the same one as before and we can only claim hexes that are explored and cleared out. Thanks.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Megan said she had the new map Monday. That included the first four claimed hexes marked with an outline. If you don't see the outline, she's still working on it.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Thanks.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Month 5:
Stability: 1d20 ⇒ 11, Economy: 1d20 ⇒ 9

Month 6:
Stability: 1d20 ⇒ 11, Economy: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Well, that was better. Squeaked by on that last economy check.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

You can have the Erastil shrine you found if you want. Just instal some clergy and have them get it up and running.

Unfortunately there are no clergy (of any faith) amongst the colonists now encamped around the Stag Lord's fort.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Six months of development in, but we haven't finished the first night of the settlers' arrival. Wow. Lothar, we need to get out of these people's way.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Ok nix the shrine until we claim the hex that has the shrine already. Where was that again?

Instead I added a weaver. To keep going with the basics needed for a town. After this I am thinking of stables, tannery, inn, tavern based on when we get the BP for them. For expansion, continue slowly to get the shrine hex for sure but then it is just keeping our consumption at 0 until we build up our BP generation more to support us.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

There is an error on my map. I thought from Gorguk's instructions that E7 was the Staglord's Fort. I see on the campaign map that is incorrect. Gorguk, after four months, should we have four hexes or four plus the original hex?

Male Human Witch 5

I was thinking that Erastil would like the Temple to be further from town, allowing individuals to make an annual pilgrimage there, and just have a simple shrine for day to day things.

that is my 2 cents.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

An pilgrimage, in my mind, would generally involve a lot more distance than we are considering here. Nonetheless, the temple is out of town currently, so it meets that qualification.

Male Human Witch 5

I think pilgrimage is not the right word, the general idea yes, but like you said a true pilgramage should be much, much longer.

I just don't see the Erastil crew hanging out in a major metropolis....

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

It's more of a village-based religion, I think, you're right.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Rhasa, the fort and four others by month four, yes

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Excellent. I wasn't as far off as I feared, then. Megan, hold off on the map - I will send you an update.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

With the latests rolls thoigh we added a another hex where the spider was I believe.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

So after six months, how many hexes should be claimed? The first four + F3?
