Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Not really. Dice hate me, too, be they die-rolling software or the real sort sitting on my desk.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Lothar, you only need to worry if you hear the sound of dice rolling in your head, and then it suddenly stops.

Sorry about the Wheel of Time reference, just couldn't help myself.

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

If only Lothar was like Mat... I wouldn't mind that at all.

Still need to finish reading those books (I stopped at Crossroads and am waiting for the series to end before picking it back up again).

Going to see The Avengers today... hopefully I'll be able to post again today after the movie.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

My wife and I went last night and it was very good. Make sure you stay to the end of the credits if your not in the habit of doing so.

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Please note I have a job interview tomorrow (Wednesday), not sure when/if I will get to post...

Good luck!

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

The good wishes were effective: I've just been hired and start next week. Posting may be erratic until I get the hang of things!

Excellent news! Congratulations!

On a different note, I feel bad about Lothar and Rhasa getting all of the attention in the thread at the moment. It would only be right if we were off-stage for a later episode in the game if you see such an opportunity. Just sayin'.

Congratulations again, that's great to hear.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Thank you.

Just been to see them... IT lecturer at a college 45 miles from here, motorway (aka freeway) most of the way, very easy drive.

As for the game, yes... but that's the way with PbP, especially when operating in a single thread system. I am sure everyone else will get opportunites to shine 'ere long...

... or at least, given that I'm the DM, I shall MAKE sure that they get said opportunities :)

Male Human Witch 5

No worries this approach has worked in games since 1st edition, someone gets into the fire, makes a roayal mess of things then someone else has to help them out.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Congrats Megan.

Agreed...Gorguk has had his moments it only fair for you to have yours. Durok is getting kind of antsy as he hasn't had a single post yet though.

Liberty's Edge

For the Saints here: I have had such wonderful support from the local ward. I am really looking forward to telling them tomorrow that it's finally paid off and Heavenly Father has put me where He wants me to be :)

And I am teaching the Relief Society lesson, which is on prayer. One prayer answered, methinks!

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

Congrats as well.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Congratulations Megan! That is great news, a prayer answered indeed.

I had a company contact the end of last week from one of my online job hunting profiles that I have set up. So I am kind of encouraged by the fact that they came looking for me. I've also got a couple of other job opportunities that I'm working on at the moment, so hopefully something turns up soon.

Right now I've just been so busy finishing the project that I'm working on for my current employer, looking for a job, and working with our Boy Scout troop, that I don't have much free time.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Sounds very important....

....muy muy importante!

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Just to get the strategy ball rolling, is Rhasa looking at taking out the STaglord right now? If so does she want Lothar and Rhasa wait until the others make a disturbance outside the fort? Don't know how long that would take but talking now so we don't spend the next 4 days discussing what could be already decided.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

That's what she's alluding to, yes, but she'll think better of it even if Lothar agreed to try it. Her player doesn't think her anger with the Stag Lord is going to override her natural caution that completely.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Its probably a good thing that Gorguk isn't there right now. He would be making a beeline for that Staglord's room.

Male Human Witch 5

Strategy wise, I think a two pronged approach is the best, some of us pretending to be bandits and aiding the others in arriving un-noticed through the tunnel into the fort.

Gorgukk and I could pass for bandits, but Rhasa, lothar, calindar?

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

You presume that there are so many bandits that they don't all know each other on sight. Or rather, that none of them know all of the others on sight. I don't think that's a safe assumption.

However, I'm liking the idea of Barnabus inside the fort speaking to the horses, giving them instructions...

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

I'm all for the pincer movement myself. I actually think it would best if Lothar remained behind and have Rhasa go back to get Barnabus (she could guide him back alot better than Lothar). The only problem I foresee are the zombies... but if this is going on while Akiros is making his announcement, then alot of the issue with this could be mitigated somewhat.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

still here just letting you all know. Keep up the scouting as long as you don't get yourselves killed. Good Luck.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Since I know about the zombies, I can get by them. With a length of rope, I can pull a levitated Barnabus across the undead field.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Megan, good luck with both the map and the talk. I know how difficult some of those maps can be from when I ran my Age of Worms campaign.

My meager map-making skills are always available, Megan. I have access to this map if you want me to take a stab at it. (Promise I'm not peeking.)

Good luck with your talk.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

The talk was amazing. When I got to church I was invited to join the party on the stand, that was scary enough. I spoke last, and the Spirit took over.... very well received, apparently it was good by LDS standards, never mind for a first Sacrament Meeting talk from a new member.

AinvarG, if you would take a stab at the map, that would be appreciated.

My pleasure. Sending you a PM.

Good going.... Public speaking was never my strength, but to hear others tell it, I'm a natural.

Male Human Witch 5

Good thing I am not there, I would say kill the sleeper and incriminate another bandit in the deed, then leave! ;)

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

Just checking in to see if the DM noticed my post from Sunday.

Liberty's Edge

I'm here...

Male Human Witch 3|| AC 14 /17 (mage armor) || hp 20/20|| Init +4 || Fort +1 Ref +2 Will +4 || Perception +5 || Condition: Normal

RL happens!

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

DM: Was worried something untoward may have happened, is all. Glad to know you're okay.

Party: If I'm reading the map right, it would seem to indicate that we're near the front gate. I'm thinking that Rhasa should head on back to the trapdoor and and go get Barnabus. After seeing her off, Lothar can continue to hide (which would mean heading on past the entrance to take advantage of the darkness in the room [?] beyond).

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Not there so your call. Good luck with whatever you choose. Don't end up like our last scout.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

Having seen the map (with DM permission) I can confirm that the horses are tied up just inside the front gate. The room with the snoring is not, I think, across the gate from our position, but back to the south. I would have to re-read the comments from Megan - I've only seen the map, am unsure what's in the rooms depicted.

Rhasa is not in favor of leaving you in here alone to get yourself into trouble. Convince her.

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

She doesn't have to be in favor of it nor should she need convincing. Of the two of us, she has the best chance of getting Barnabus past the undead to the trapdoor and tunnel. Rhasa doesn't need Lothar for that. If necessary, Lothar, to alleviate her... concerns, would accompany the ranger back to the tunnel and wait for her to return with Barnabus, but not before checking out one of the rooms(?) to see what is inside.

Elf Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher)

If you expect her to abandon you in the enemy stronghold, yes, she has to be in favor of it - or she simply will not go. Very simple.

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

It's only abandonment if Rhasa doesn't come back. And she doesn't strike Lothar as the type of person who would desert him, which is why he would suggest her going back to get Barnabus. Lothar would concede as far him remaining above ground, which is why it was changed to going back with her as far as the secret entrance to wait for their return. His vanish spell wouldn't last long enough to be of any real help and it wouldn't work against the zombies in any event (that requires hide from undead, which is a cleric spell). Rhasa is better at being stealthy than Lothar, especially given the current terrain. Logically, she's the perfect choice for this.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

By the way, my working pattern seems to have settled on very long days Monday & Tuesday and lighter the rest of the week, hence it's unlikely I shall bob in on those days... just so you know & don't think I've disappeared or anything.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Help, confused. Gorguk did you go with Rhasa and Barnabus, or did you stay back for now, just need to know before I decide what Calinder is doing. Thanks.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Wanted to go a bit with them but stop before Rhasa indicated the undead. Whether or not we know the exact location and where Gorguk,is currently at is up to Megan.

Male Half-elf Cleric 5

Okay, just wasn't sure what had been decided. Calinder will just hang back with Gorguk and be ready to jump into action if needed.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

OK, I'll rule that Gorguk and Calinder are standing at the foot of the hill (there are some bushes you can hide in, not as good concealment as the stand of trees but OK at night especially when nobody knows you're there!).

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Still here just waiting for the stealth squad to be done with plans before Akiros and Gorguk arrive in the morning for a frontal assault...I mean distraction.

Megan, in the morning Gorguk would just ride up with Akiros to make his presence known. After Akiros does his speech, if no one comes out, then Gorguk will challenge someone to come out and fight. Hopefully this allows the rest to exit the secret area without being seen and do whatever they need to do.

Male Vudran bard (magician) 2/ninja 3; hp 38; AC 13, T 12, FF 11; Init +4; F +2, R +8, W +3 (+2 vs. sleep, paralysis, and stun); Perc +7

I'm having to assist with caring for my grandmother; where she lives there is no internet connection, so I can't check things. So my posting will become sporadic for a while, at least until some sort of schedule can be worked out. I do plan on continuing so don't give up on me. I'll make my next post on Sunday.

Male Human Witch 5

just post when you can. We are all willing to slow down.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

Take care, Lothar... first things first. All our love and prayers for your family, especially your granmother.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Still here just asleep. Keep going guys/gals.

male Half-orc Paladin 3 HP: 23/25 AC: 22/10/19 saves: F7+, R4, W5

Just to let you all know that I will be gone from July 9 through July 15 with no Internet access. Will be in the boundary waters area in others Minnesota. Go ahead and DMNPC for me. Thanks.
