My apologies - I was in Namibia (south-western Africa) and the internet was more unreliable than I was expecting so I didn't get a chance to tell all my pbp-threads. I'll be updating in the next 24 hours...

Oh dear.... Varrel was a fascinating character and a privilege to DM. Take care and should your circumstances change and there be time for role-playing, you'll be welcome back.
Guys, if everyone is cool, I have time to game again. Started a new job with a better schedule. Cleaned up Varrel's char sheet and ready to go.
Does anyone (especially megs) mind if Varrel switches out Power Attack for Blindfight? I am cool either way.
If he's over the exhaustion, Varrel would still have BLEND running and could have caught up maybe?

I had noticed she hadn't posted for awhile.
That leaves
Una
Shakhan
Ashe
Gronk
Icabod
Still a well covered group.
I have used it once or twice.
I have been gone a while but have been watching the whole time.
The reason for the request is two fold.
1.I have been teaching my son about Pathfinder and was Varrel modding according to his likes. He wanted to play a game. I, at the time had no plans to return, so was not opposed to changing his sheet.
Varrel went up and down a few levels in the process as Kyan was learning about class levels etc.
(He wonders quite a bit at how everyone in Lord of the rings is so in awe of Gandalf when he is not even powerful enough to cast fly ;)
In any case, Kyan is ready to make his own Magus so I'll help him build a board alias of his own.
I had tried to rebuild Varrel from memory.
I know beyond his Scimitar/cesti he didn't have much gear, bar his ring and chain shirt. Pretty sure I got it right.
As for power attack. I looked at the pace the game is moving at and always wanted to eventually take Moonlight Stalker.
So I took out power attack and swapped for blind fight.
I hoped to take Combat Expertise and moonlight stalker at level 7.
I'll probably put power attack in at 11.
Megan, would you (or anyone here for that matter) be willing to DM Way of the Wicked for another pbp here, or do you have a full plate? Our DM has vanished for a week or so already.

Hi - there seem to be lots of questions for me today!
Ashe - no, doesn't seem to be. He's looking a bit askance at what he's seen beyond the door.
Varrel - if you want back in you're far, far more than welcome :) At present you are sitting on the deck of the ship, having had a bit of a funny turn and so you chose not to dive with the rest. So best if you have a sudden recovery and jump in, swim down to join the others...
And Blindfight somehow seems more you, no problem if you want to switch.
Good to hear your son is learning Pathfinder. If he'd like to have a go at play-by-post, he'd be welcome.
Ashe - I don't know, Gronk hasn't said anything about going away. Then I didn't at the beginning of the year, when my computer died on me.
Una - of course I would, but I shall have to root around, don't have all of the books. [Scuttles off, rummages in the review pile, aha! Oh yes I do!!!!]

Not sure whats up with Gronk.. I'll assume he's just surprised/startled by whatever he sees. I still don't know what that is so.. Ashe will go around him... to keep the story flowing. The shark didn't attack after all.
Here are the messageboards for Way of the Wicked. I've got 5 of our original 7 players agreeing to a friendly takeover. The other 3 haven't responded yet, but I think 1 has dropped out. We will likely need to recruit at least one to replace lost players. (Shouldn't be difficult as Way of the Wicked is exceedingly popular.) There are a few houserules we were playing with that are mentioned in the recruitment thread (namely each of us has a Deadly Sin, which offers a Boon and a Bane), and an additional 2 skill points each level. If you want to play with the same house rules or not, we'll have to talk to the other players.

Er...Queen's Physician? Uhm... Where have we seen these guys? I've looked back.. they've not been mentioned before. What identifies this guy as an agent of the queen?
Royal Physicians wear the bird plague mask. These masks were expensive in medieval times so only the highest paid ones got them. There were also a gradation of masks: from better materials to shoddy materials, so that might also indicate a difference in the pay grade of the physician.
Yep... Good luck on the interview, Megan. And about the windows... I meant that Una would have noted their location as a potential exit/entrance earlier and communicated that to everyone as part of the tactical briefing. :)

Hope you're enjoying your new role, Varrel... and that yours remains, Una!
I shall have to consider when to next say 'Ding' - we're bobbing around Book 2 of the AP. For no adequately explained reason, the author put the wreck investigation near the end - like you, I thought it would be one of the first things that one would do if trying to find out where the plague came from!

Alot of players put off anything underwater as long as possible. Many are terrified of underwater adventures (especially the oldtimers like me).
Since alot of older edition modules used underwater scenes as killing grounds. You couldn't use alot of the spells you were used to, same with weapons and armor, ability to breath and move freeley was harder to come by, grid system means surrounded could be as many as 26 opponents instead of 8, harder to guard the squishies, and many standard tactics don't work. All in all, a few otherwise CR 3 or 4 encounters could easily TPK a 5th level party.
I always kinda enjoyed the inherent risk and change of action. Many did not, and you could see them sweating buckets.
Some players have not realized how the plenitude of lower level utility magic and consumable magic items can go a long way to leveling the playing field for the PC's. It is still harder, but not as close to impossible as it used to be. Pluss recovery from death is not nearly as unlikely as it used to be.
Many module authors are 'oldtimers' and he may have just assumed the PC's would avoid it like the plague (pun intended).
