He is now about 80 ft from Fray and the archbishop, near the gates at the west end of St Peter's Square....

The assassin dodges Jimeno's lance thrust, makes it as far as the gates, and then is grappled by FireSkorn....

In spite of Jimeno moving in to help restrain the assassin, the nimble fellow is too slippery, and resists being held....

Archbishop of Toledo leads Bishop Alonso and their entourages quickly toward the basilica, the guards forming a ring around the clerics....

M Human cleric (cloistered cleric, evangelist, theologian) of Dominican 2 AC 13, touch 11, flat-footed 12 (+2 armor, +1 Dex) hp 15 (2d8+1) Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6

The friar will make a dash towards the struggling heroes and when in range will cast command on the assassin telling him Fall Will Save DC 14

Fall: On its turn, the subject falls to the ground and remains prone for 1 round. It may act normally while prone but takes any appropriate penalties.

Will save vs DC 14 command 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 succeeds! The assassin resists Fray's command....

M Human unchained monk 8/paladin 6

Akio: go ahead and roll initiative.... You can see the struggle taking place just on the other side of the barred gates that open onto St Peter's Square.... The gates are unlocked....

The assassin draws a scroll from within his black jerkin.... He quickly removes it from its tube and tries to read it defensively....

Cast defensively concentration check vs DC 19 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 fails.... The spell the assassin tried to cast fizzles....

ok.

what seems to be a leading guard of a far eastern caravan breaks away from the caravan at the sound of shouts and commotion. As he looks into the court yard he quickly recognizes what he was told were priests of god and sees other men attempting to wrestle down a figure clad in black.
He speaks in Latin
What is going on here? Why do we fight? He is an assassin you said? Tell my assassin, why do you seek to end lives so cheaply?

he will enter the gates, hand resting easily on his blade. Moving towards the squabbling men.

Come now, if you have been caught the game is up, surrender, and we can end this today without bloodshed.

Jimeno will then draw his trident and attack the assassin two-handed with it, attempting to put more power behind his thrust.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 101d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

The assassin dodges Jimeno's trident thrust....

M Human cleric (cloistered cleric, evangelist, theologian) of Dominican 2 AC 13, touch 11, flat-footed 12 (+2 armor, +1 Dex) hp 15 (2d8+1) Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6

Dont forget the bonus from my inspiration.

Surrounded, the assassin desperately tries to fight his way out.... He draws a short sword from a black leather scabbard at his side and thrusts at FireSkorn....

Short sword thrust 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 sinks into FireSkorn's left arm, dealing 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 piercing damage!

M Human cleric (cloistered cleric, evangelist, theologian) of Dominican 2 AC 13, touch 11, flat-footed 12 (+2 armor, +1 Dex) hp 15 (2d8+1) Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6

The friar will keep up his sermonic performance asking the Lord to give his servants strength to battle the agents of the Enemy, preaching from the Book of Revlation:

“Now have salvation and power come,
and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of his Anointed.
For the accuser* of our brothers is cast out,
who accuses them before our God day and night.

They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
love for life did not deter them from death.

Therefore, rejoice, you heavens,
and you who dwell in them.
But woe to you, earth and sea,
for the Devil has come down to you in great fury,
for he knows he has but a short time.”

A 1st level bard can use his performance to inspire courage in his allies (including himself), bolstering them against fear and improving their combat abilities. To be affected, an ally must be able to perceive the bard’s performance. An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

DM Question: If I tried to fascinate would that effect everyone or just the assassin?

hpmh, very well then, so be it.
Akio will spur his horse on into a charge at the man, bringing his naginata around to strike.

attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 2 + 1 + 2 - 1 = 19 here I assume I get flanking, since he is stated as being surrounded. power attacking
Kaze no Sutoraiki!

damage: 1d10 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 3 = 16

Indeed, the words of this god are powerful, or at the very least inspiring, I feel invigorated!

As akio twists his mount to avoid the assassins strike, he makes a full turn bringing his naginata to bear, using the momentum from his dodge to power his blow.

Enough of this!
