Omast thrusts with his Ranceur at the Middle Dog, killing the pooch with a howl.

Following the Beast-Tamers orders, the first Orc Soldier moves closer and launches a heavy-tipped Javelin at Ragnir's shield.

Orc Soldier 1 - Pilum - Range Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 131d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

The Heavy Javelin, known as a Pilum, sticks into Ragnir's Shield. The shield becomes too heavy to be used.

Ragnir may take a Standard Action to remove the Pilum from his Shield.

The second Orc Soldier stays on the dog's left and moves up to attack Kaos with his strange curved sword, but misses the big human.

The third Orc Soldier follows behind the dogs. And when the middle dog falls, it takes its place and strikes at Omast, also with an oddly curved sword, but is unable to penetrate the Human Guard's armor.

The first Orc Warrior moves up and send a Javelin toward the Human Female to his left. The Javelin sticks in the ground next to Mordea.

The second Orc, leading the Giant Lizard forward, steps to the side and sends a Javelin to his right at a male Dwarf. The shaft embeds into Ulfgard.

Round Nine recap

Kaos recast shield.

Mordea hits the big lizard with a bolt.

As the dogs approach, Kaos braces for the attack, but misses. But so does the dog.

Omast kills the Middle Pooch as it tries to attack.

The Bottom Pooch bites into Omast.

One of the Orcs sticks a heavy javelin into Ragnir's shield.

The second Orc Warrior briefly celebrates as his Javelin critically strikes Ulfgard.

Ragnir knocks the Pilum off his shield, then gives Kaos' weapon a little extra acid damage.

Anga sends a fan of flames at the Orcs and one of the dogs. The flames singe the dog and the Orcs.

At the time Anga cast the spell, I am showing the lizard 20 feet away (G11,G12,H11 & H12), or just out of range of the Burniing Hands spell.

Omast, seeing that we are being flanked ignores the dog and moves to assist Mordea.

The Top Dog snaps at Omast, but that is about all it does.

Thr Trunauan Guard swings his Greatsword at the lead Orc to the North.

Ragnir moves up to provide additional protection for Anga.

Haskyll pulls out a Scroll and casts Cause Fear against the Giant Lizard.

(GMPC Ulfgard) Ulfgard moves (to K17) and brings his Dwarven Longhammer down on the second Orc Warrior. But the Orc was able to avoid the blow.

I know. I try too in the games I play and with the NPCs. But by keeping up with in your post, it simply makes it more obvious that it has indeed been updated. It would force us not to forget to update our character's status.

Mordea finishes off the first Orc to the North.

The Orcs attacks were ineffectual, except the Beast-Tamer whose Double-Axe struck Kaos from both sides.

Ragnir cast Forbid Action against the Beast-Tamer, but the female Orc resisted the spell.

Anga hits the first Orc with an Acid Splash.

Haskyll moves up and skewers the Beast-Tamer with his spear.

It is Hammer time for Ulfgard. With the damage the Beast-Tamer received from Anga's Burning Hands and Haskyll's spear, the Beast-Tamer falls under Ulfgard's blow.

Kurst shows up a few rounds after the last Orc falls.

"Good job holding the line while we retook control of the walls and towers to the inner quarter." the Patrol Captain honors your efforts. "But the Hopespring Beacon is still not lit. I need you to get down to the lower quarter and light that beacon. It will demonstrate to the rest of the town that we are winning this fight. You have proven yourselves this day. We thank you."

You have about three rounds to regroup. Let me know when you are ready to move forward. The first issue will be how to get down to the lower quarter, as the way is currently blocked. You can scale down the walls or down the rubble from the fallen tower. (Around X9 on the Inner Quarter map.)


@ Spell Casters - All third level Spellcasters may re-equip one 1st level and one 2nd level spell. Kaos, go ahead with one 1st level spell. I find these long protracted battles to not be entirely fair to Spellcasters. Treat it like a "Second Wind."
