Surprise Round and Round One recap

Anga sneaks up on the female Half-Orc, and with a Boo, hits her with a Magic Missile.

Kaos with Mordea in tow moves around to the backside of the building.

Ragnir attacks the female Half-Orc, but his axe glanced off one of the studs of this Half-Orc's masterwork studded leather armor.

The male Half-Orc drinks a potion, then moves out from the alley.

As no one has yet to engage the male Half-Orc, only a little traffic was between Haskyll and his foe. He hits the male with an Acid Dart.

Ulfgard advances on the female Half-Orc. The Half-Orc dodges the swipe from his Waraxe but is struck by a bash from his shield. Ulfgard's new friend engages with growls and bites, but the female Half-Orc was just too nimble for the dog to secure a bite.

@Ulfgard - Unless I am missing something, your attack bonuses from the Waraxe with a Shield Bash should be +5/+4, with Rage +7/+6.

The female Half-Orc steps back (To I19qC - Will move her after everyone has had the opportunity to see current position.)

As you get closer to the female Half-Orc - Perception DC 15:
The female Half-Orc matches the description of Sara Morningkawk's assistant at the forge.

The fire areas on the map are raging in the trees above. Thick plumes of pea green smoke billow into the air here, where three hardy trees that flank the road have been set ablaze with green alchemical fire. The air reeks of sulfur and ashes.

Any movement further south, essentially off the map, will put you in a zone of noxious fumes from the alchemical fire.

An Orc appears from another building. (See Map)

He takes a swing at Kaos with a nice, now over-sized, Greataxe and barely manages to strike the now puny human.

Kaos takes 15 points of damage.

Haskyll notices the tattoo on the forehead on the female Half-Orc. It matches the description of a tat communicated to the party by the weaponsmith, Sara Morninghawk, as one worn by her former forge assistant.

The Dwarf Cleric fires an Acid Dart at the male Half-Orc. It misses.

Where Ulfgard hit with his Shield before, he lands with his Waraxe now. The blow appears to stagger the female Half-Orc.

Beisser bites at the female Half-Orc, but misses.

The female Half-Orc lets out a wicked scream and attacks the Dwarf Ranger with her Warhammer. The attack was feeble though and the female collapses to the ground.

A blast of flame leaps out of her hands towards the towering orc.

Round Three Start

Anga hits the towering Half-Orc with a ray of Scorching Fire.

The Half-Orc bends over from the pain, only to have Kaos remove his head from his body. The head goes flying and lands on a tree branch with a puff of Alchemical sparks. The body slowly falls to the ground and returns to its normal size.

The remaining Orcs in the building up the way, see this. They turn and run, fleeing out of sight.

Female Half-Orc: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

The female Half-Orc stabilizes and remains unconscious.

Victory!

You can try to chase after the fleeing Orcs or you will also notice something in the midst of the firey trees.

Another Orc, this one controlling a pack of dogs can barely be distinguished amongst the smoke and Alchemical cinders.

Kaos will take a deep breath and hold it as he dives into the noxious fumes.
If I'm understanding this correctly we can walk under the flames with out catching on fire. If this is not the case Kaos will try to go around to the west. Other wise he will move straight though.


The flames are above, but the area below is filled with smoke. You noticed this Orc Beast-Tamer as it moved into the zone of smoke.

When Kaos steps into the smoke, he finds breathing difficult. The smoke's alchemical properties irritate his mouth, eyes and nostrils.

He must make a DC 15 Fort Save or be nauseated. You can take a +2 on the save for holding your breath. Nauseated: Creatures with the nauseated condition experience stomach distress. Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move actions per turn.

Round One

Seeing the big Human approach, the Beast-Tamer releases her beast, then launches a Javelin, strike Kaos. Two of the dogs runs out from the cloaking fumes, but another engages the big human.

Mordea moves toward this Beast-Tamer Orc.

Haskyll moving around the edges, wings the Orc with a crossbow bolt.

(GMPC Anga) Without needing to take a step into the noxious fumes, the Dwarf Wizard sends a Force Missile at the Beast-Tamer.

Kaos barely manages to strike the attacking dog, but the barely was in the throat. The dog dies. Kaos then engages the Beast-Tamer.

Ulfgard moves around the edges.

Ragnir also engages the Beast-Tamer.

These are 10' squares. All you could have done was engage. I will use Ragnir’s roll for the next round though.

The Beast-Tamer curses at her wayward dogs, then pulling out a wicked Orc double-axe attacks the big human.

The first dog braves the noxious fumes, only to be nauseated by the fumes.

The third dog braves the fumes as well. Resisting the effects, the dog attacks Mordea. But the dog misses its bite within the smoke and fumes.

Round Two Recap

As Kaos approaches, the Beast-Tamer grasp a wicked Orc double-axe. And in a quick figure eight motion, cuts into the big human.

Kaos takes yet another 7 points of damage. (15/29)

As one of the Beast-Tamer's dog chokes on the noxious fumes, the other tries to bite Mordea.

Mordea pushing on in the Alchemical mix, but fails to land a strike on the attacking dog.

Haskyll advances with his Warhammer.

Kaos returns the favor managing to slice the Beast-Tamer with his over-sized axe.

Anga's second Force Missile does the trick. The Beast-Tamer begins to fall from her injuries.

Ulfgard charges into the noxious gasses, thinking this is no worse than some of the cigars he has smoked. As the Beast-Tamer falls, the Dwarf Ranger adds a wicked blow, killing the Orc.

Ulfgard's Fort Save: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 2 = 27

Seeing the Beast-Tamer fall, Ragnir holds his breath and moves against the dog attacking Mordea. Unphased by the foul air, the Warpriest stops the dog's bite. The canine drops.

Ragnir's Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 2 + 2 = 27

The last dog, seeing it's master and other pack members fall, runs away.

Victory!

The party can hear nearby the portcullis closing.

Kaos will find on the Beast-Tamer two potions, that are quickly identified as potions cure light wounds. There are two vials of acid and caltrops. She was wearing leather armor, had two more javelins, an orc double axe with a scabbard, 36 gp.

The party will look in the buildings where they previously saw Orcs and find them abandoned with thankfully no victims. The female Half-Orc is unconscious and stable. The male Half-Orc is missing his head.
