As soon as Kaos steps into the Infirmary, he comes upon a strange and eerie sight.

Kaos' Will Save: 1d20 ⇒ 20

First he sees the Flood Troll. It is near the center of the room, a bed has been moved to reveal a trap door. The diminutive Troll lets out a scream, then drops back down the trap door to the lower level. He appeared scared.

Then Kaos notices what frightened the Flood Troll. He sees what looks like burnt corpses, of likely the plague victims. They appear on the bed frames, sitting straight up and are screaming, their mouths full of fire and ashes.

Kaos shakes off this horrific image, then notice the Half-Orc across the room at the double doors. He sees Kaos, then moves toward the front doors of the Plaguehouse.

I stopped Kaos' movement as he enters into the Infirmary. I will hold until everyone can catch up with play.

Round Two Recap

This was a unique round to say the least.

The Half-Orc and Flood Troll was trying to flee. But the Flood Troll became frightened by Haunts that appeared in the Infirmary. So the Flood Troll turned and headed back the way he came.

Kaos followed by Agna, Haskyll and Ragnir ran upstairs in pursuit. That is when Kaos, running into the Infirmary, saw, playing out, the events that frightened the Flood Troll. But Kaos luckily was not himself affected by the apparitions.

Ulfgard uses his shield to activate the traps in the hallway. He also sees the Flood Troll coming back down the stairs and heading to the Northwest.

Round Three

The Half-Orc begins to negotiate the front door stairs leading up to the Plaguehouse.

The Flood Troll sees Ulfgard and continues to flee to the Northwest.

What do you do? Four are upstairs. One is down stairs.

Cursing slightly under his breath, haskyll changes direction when he realizes that ulfgard is by himself.


We will say that Haskyll can make it back down the stairs in the current round, so Ulfgard will not be totally alone in the basement.

Seeing that the Half-Orc has a lead that can't cover he will go for the trap door the troll went down and try to catch him. Damit, He's gone I'm going after the troll.


Kaos will be able to make it to the trap door and down the ladder back to the lower level. The apparitions were active and gave him the creeps, but Kaos was able to marshall through and make it downstairs. I moved your token to the lower level at the ladder. I also moved Ulfgard. You both will be able to see where the Flood Troll goes next.

She mutters words and then slams her foot against the floor, causing it to ripple to the half orcs feet.

The nimble middle-aged Orc was not affected by the Wizard's spell.

He too is showing fear now and runs toward the Southern woods.

He will likely escape.


Round Three recap

As the fleeing Half-Orc negotiates the front steps of the Plague House, Anga tries to stop him with a Thunderstomp spell. But the nimble Half-Orc was too agile to be affected by the spell.

The Flood Troll in a state of fear flees back down to the lower level.

Kaos pursues down the trap door.

Ulfgard, with the bear traps now disarmed, moves toward the fleeing Flood Troll.

Haskyll makes it back down to the lower level.

Ragnir still has a turn three action.

Round Four

The Half-Orc bolts to the South, outpacing his pursuers and will escape.

@Ragnir - The Half-Orc and Flood Troll had an action in the surprise round and had first initiative over the party. By the beginning of Round Two the Half-Orc was at the Northeast doors of the infirmary. Kaos saw the Half-Orc briefly, but chased after the Flood Troll. By the end of Round Three, Anga attempted to trip up the Half-Orc with her Thunderstomp spell. The Half-Orc was negotiating the difficult terrain of the Plague House front steps at the time. Ragnir could have charged the Half-Orc but would have missed. The Half-Orc just out distances everyone.

Ragnir spits after the fleeing 1/2 orc, then looks back at Anga and towards where the rest are, "Aye, he's fast, but Dwarves is steady, sure, n can go all day. Let's go carve us up a troll."


When Anga first goes into the Infirmary since the chasing of the Half-Orc and Flood Troll, she sees what looks like burnt corpses on the bed frames, sitting straight up and are screaming, their mouths full of fire and ashes.

Ulfgard will try to follow the troll.


Ulfgard will follow the Flood Troll into a room with an old cast-iron furnace and a pile of coal that occupy the corners of this cramped chamber. Ash and fallen rubble clutter the area around the furnace where the chimney above has collapsed.

The frightened Flood Troll turns and takes a swipe at Ulfgard, hitting the Dwarf Ranger.

Ulfgard takes 7 points of damage (21/28).

Flood Troll Claw: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 6 - 2 = 191d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Ulfgard's Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Out of the corner of Ulfgard's eye, he notices a young man hiding behind and chained to the furnace. The frightened Flood Troll did not notice him.

Ulfgard can make an attack too.

Round Four Recap

The Half-Orc avoids Anga's spell and nimbly hauls off to the South and into the nearby forest.

The Flood Troll runs into the Furnace Room. She sees no other exit and doesn't notice the young man chained to the old cast iron device. Knowing she is being pursued, she turns and readies herself for the next one that follows after her into the room.

Ulfgard follows the Flood Troll in hot pursuit. When the Flood Troll turns and attacks, the slimy creature manages to get a claw into the Dwarf Ranger. Ulfgard, both hands on his mighty axe, just misses the runt of a Troll. Ulfgard notices a young man chained to the furnace in this narrow room.

Kaos follows behind Ulfgard, moving in just to his left and also swings at the Flood Troll. But his attack was off balanced and misses.

Anga enters the Infirmary followed by Ragnir. Ragnir is unaffected by the Huants and neither is a different looking Anga ;). They both move down the trap door.

Haskyll gets closer to the action with the Flood Troll.

The young man wild-eyed and also frightened by the sudden presence of the Flood Troll tries to hide as much of his small frame behind the iron furnace.

Round Five


No longer seeing the haunts and with two enemies on her, the frightened state subsides and is exchanged for a desire to survive. But her attacks were wild and erratic. She misses both swipes at the Dwarf Ranger.
